  2. We would like to let everyone know, that at present the event is still going ahead. If there is any change to this we will let you know. Good news for anyone wishing to camp and help out at the event. We have now booked the BBQ shelter and area for camping from 5pm on Friday 18th to 12 noon on Sunday 20th. Hope you are all still able to come. David and Debbie
  3. Very sincere thanks for all the time and hard work put in by the admin's. Debbie and David
  4. This sounds a great idea. We will be happy to help out in any way we can. Debbie, David, Robert and James P.S. Many thanks for donating the e-trex as a prize at the event.

I'm sure there'll we a Webhead along soon to explain Mark Thanks for that piece of info. I tried it again and logged out and back in again and it worked. Hurray!! Thanks again. Debbie

Posted by Teasel quote:If you're using photoshop, the <File><Automate><Fit Image...> menu option should cope with resizing both portrait and landscape photos. _______________________________________________ I am using Photoshop and I have tried resizing but I still cannot get the picture onto the web page without it looking pixellated. What should I resize to? etc etc. Please can anyone help? Debbie

  8. With regard to the HCC event, we were unable to book the BBQ shelter for the 12th because it has already been booked for that date. We have now confirmed a booking for 19th July so this looks likely to be the one to go for. Hope this will be ok for you all. Sorry if that puts any catsitters out. THE BRAMBLERS
  9. We are really sorry that this is clashing but it is somewhat out of our hands, as it has been sanctioned from the "top". It is hoped that this will be a really exciting event and we hope you will all be able to come along.
  10. Just to clarify things a little further. The HCC event will probably be the 12th July, again mainly because of the holidays. It will be very child and family orientated with various different caches and multicaches, plus other entertainment. The BBQ would be just for the geocaching fraternity to enjoy after the HCC event. Could even get a bar if anyone wanted!
  11. quote:Are dogs allowed? I certainly hope so, otherwise our dog Megan would be very upset! Debbie
  12. Just thought we had better let you know that Hampshire County Council are holding an organised geocaching event, also at Farley Mount Country Park, possibly around this time. Details still to be finalised. All will be welcome. THE BRAMBLERS
  13. Thanks for the reply and the link; at least I know it has happened before. I'm afraid I didn't think to write the number down and I certainly didn't expect someone to take it and log it so quickly, especially as it was a two mile walk to the cache! I think I will e-mail the last people and see if they can help. Thanks again Debbie
  14. I left a travel bug at a location today and when I went to log it on-line I found that someone had already taken it and logged it before me. Now it has gone from my cache page and I cannot add my log. As it had come such a long way (from Colorado), I really wanted to add my note. Is there any thing I can do? I did wonder about e-mailing the last people to get the id number, but I wasn't sure if that would be OK. Any suggestions? Debbie
  15. I have often thought that it would be useful to have a guide relating to the total distance from the car to the cache, placed on the web page cache details. It would be particularly helpful when planning to do several caches in one afternoon, for example. Just a thought. Debbie
  16. You are not alone!! We have noticed that our cache has been logged but we haven't had any e-mails to confirm this. Must be a problem somewhere. Debbie
  17. The same sort of thing happened to me when I tried to log a cache; it just toook me back to the cache page. All I have to do is disable the anti-virus/ firewall software and then it works. Just need to remember to activate it again. This might not be the same for you but it's worth a try. Debbie
  18. Just as an extra note, my son wasn't trying to ADVERTISE our cache ( the comments alone on the web page have done that for us), he just wanted to know what his friend thought of it. He didn't realise the type of forum this is!
  19. I'm sorry about this post. It was posted by my son without my consent. It is not something I would have done. Again my apologies. Debbie - THE BRAMBLERS
  20. hi michael what did you think of our cache? was there any problems with it? THE BRAMBLERS
  21. Oh dear, I'm feeling a little guilty now. We placed our first cache yesterday which was actually approved. We had found around 20 caches so we felt we had a good idea what we were supposed to do. However, we did try to buy an ammo box from the Army Surplus shop in Southampton but they didn't have any in stock. The sandwich box we had wasn't big enough to fit all the items in so we opted for an ice cream tub in a thick black plastic bag, similar to those used at Quantum Leap Parts 1 and 2. Rest assured as soon as we can obtain an ammo box, we will be transferring the items to this. Anyway, thank you for your words of wisdom. Debbie
  22. There was great excitement this morning when my sons opened the Under-Water? cache and found their first T&J Bear. It cheered up my youngest (James) as he had slipped over in the mud on the way to the second part of the cache and was feeling a little miserable and rather muddy. It certainly helped to put a spring in his step on the way back to the car. She has pride of place in his bedroom now! Thank you.
  23. quote: Hey, you're not my wife are you?? She's a Debbie, we have 2 boys, and live in Winchester too! We actually have 3 boys, but my middle son (Robert) knows Michael. They were at Harestock Primary together and now at HB. Robert tells me they were in the Sudent Council together last year at HB. Thanks for the welcome. Debbie
  24. Watched the Inside Out programme earlier this week and have just borrowed a Geoexplorer 3 to find our first cache. What great fun; our children really enjoyed it and can't wait to go again. We had a bit of wading to do but that just added to the fun, especially for the dog. Just need to go and buy our own etrex or similar. The Geoexplorer 3 was somewhat sophisticated for our needs. Where is the best place to purchase a GSP? Are there any reasonably local shops (Winchester), or is it best to purchase from the internet? Debbie and Boys
