  1. And we get back Monday Feb 19th at 7.20am just three days before my *cough* birthday. A welcoming party would be laugh as we will be as bleary eyed as the campers.
  2. A bit further south I presume, but I did Alchemy Gold for my 500th back in August and Horrid Henry also hit the same landmark on the same cache just recently.
  3. I will be bringing "Bowling Green, United States of America" with me next month.
  4. You all must have had a good christmas!!! I know our Cape Town office does not open untill Monday, but I thought that was just them. I can see all the caches very well using the google sat view on the cache description page although hard to get a true idea of the terrain to begin with. On the basis of less housing, the steeper the gradient, I'm begining to read the topography. I have injured my right knee so mobilty is restricted but just had a 1.5hr walk around Oxford but thats rather flat. I have decided to get to my 600th when in Cape Town so its looking like one of those on the Table. But any recommendations would be good. I'm trying to do landmark caches on 100's and my last two have been epic. (Its worth looking at the Alchemy Series caches in England if you want a great idea of how to set a linked series of caches, We did all 15 in about 13.5hrs but missed the 10.50 record). Maybe I should have asked which ones to avoid, but you can email me through my profile. Thanks for the feedback so far, but would appreciate beach/cache guidance. Tony
  5. You lot are not as chatty as my UK cachers. I would have had chapter and verse on all the do-able caches by now and what pub to have a pint in to boot. And theres me linking my trip to CT with a cache bash in England beforehand to bring a load of coins down to distribute. Is it worth me bothering?
  6. Lianne I'm off to Cape Town 7 days later so any coins that want to go south instead can come with me. You will then have to rename it 'Cache Bash! Destination America and South Africa'
  7. Bump again as I'm going to Cape Town in early feb so reckon a few geocoins would like to come with me.
  8. Hi! Just booked for 10 days holiday in Capetown over the second week in February. Would be grateful for a little lowdown on caches worth doing in the area and the ones to avoid. Just straight Trads. Wife and 17 year old daughter will be with me for most of the time so ones that can be easily linked with sight seeing or beaches will be appreciated. In UK I do use our digital Ordanance Survey maps so I know where I will be going. If someone can do the similar on a jpg readout so that I can put it on my PDA, again I would be eternally grateful. Will also try to bring down some coins and tbs so willing to reciprocate if any want to travel north. Cheers Tony
  9. And congrats from me to who also hit 500 at Gold. And I'm glad the info on Brass was of help when you paf'd on thursday!
  10. Jolly Jaxs and myself did 15 around a 11.5 mile circular walk on Thursday and **Andy** raided Oxford yesterday and bagged 21. Some of us are active!
  11. It is also possible, that due to satelite alignement, ie in line and all in the quadrant overhead, that decent triangulation cannot be achieved and accuracy goes out the window. However at 21ft I would be more than happy with that. An occasion recently with total veiw of the sky in the middle of the field, due to the juxstapostion of the satelites, I was getting only a 15metre (so called) accuracy......till found it though. Such is caching life!
  12. Pauls timings I think are a bit out as the party I was in a couple of years ago hit the summit of Scafell at around midnight. We also started the other side of Wasdale and the van then went to the large car park at Wasdale to pick up. We did however get 2 (fit)members of a 12 man team back down to Pen-y Pass by 8am so completing all three within 24 hours. But we were not caching. Also remember, that mini buses are not the fastest means of transport. Bring head torches as you will need them over Scafell. Book your self into a decent hotel in Fort William the night before....you will need a decent nights sleep beforehand.
  13. Hate to say, as I have been the 'member of the public', who has found a dead body...floating in the Thames, I am quite prepared mentally to the fact that I might find another out caching. We do go out in the most likely of places. Once went out on a man hunt on Berkhamsted Common, with the body being found in an area of Ashridge that has a number of caches in now. This summer early morning caching in Cornwall, discovered three dead cows in a field and not a pleasant sight, but you just do your duty. One of us will come across a body whilst caching sooner or later, my advise is be prepared.
  14. Not the titled 'excerpt from a teenage opera' by Keith West. Just found out, and I had never heard of this one, the one before, yes.
  15. The question was taken from The Independent Magazine dated 02/12/2006 page 9 set by the Jeremy Beadle in a quiz section he hosts every Saturday in the newspaper. A paper that my children have every access to read. dadgum,(Groundspeak want to change my spelling of D A M N) there goes a good source of questions
  16. Very strict interpretation of the rules BDSM then Typing BDSM and wikipedia into Google will tell you more than you ever need to know Ding
  17. Not SMBD but very very close. Think Archer4 you should explain what it fully means before the full ding
  18. Time for a hint, the badges come in at least two forms:- and And you can Google to your hearts content!
  19. No, not a football question, (but you never know indirectly)
  20. Bump again. May not be quite as bad as we think esp. prior to lunch. Met Office Weather
  21. Whose (acronym please) badge of 'honour' consists of 9 horizontal bars, from top, black, blue, black, blue, white, blue, black, blue, black, with a red (or red and white) symbol on top.
  22. Its something to do with its location, but not just landlocked because there are many of them. Liechtenstein surrounded by Switzerland and Austria which are both landlocked themselves, so I deduce therefore they are both surrounded by countries who are landlocked themselves. Think I heard it on a University Challenge sometime ago.
