  1. I've choosen a coin from a wishlist, now I just need to wrap it up.

I will post the postage tracking link shortly.

Now off you go to the pop corn or chewing your finger nails or whatever you do when your impatient...

(I recomend caching, though... )

I'm awfully sorry to be such a late participant.

Got the special coin from my mission partners wishlist, which I'm quite proud of... :anicute:

Got some nice cards of my homearea, which meant me going into a tourist shop. Did you ever got to a touristic spot in your HOME area? I never did this before...

But I also got something to try my missionpartners patience, something for those long cold winter evenings, which are here before you even know...

Now everything is wrapped up nicely, an activated traveller is also inside the parcel and my daughter promised to bring it to the post office tomorrow, as I have to work.

So sorry for not replying earlier, sometimes not a road trip, but life get's in the way.

  3. Ok, we have a problem here. Today I got the package back because it wasn't picked up at the post office. No idea what went wrong. I'll try to find out and will inform you when I have something new!

I can tell you, what went wrong. My stupid postman didn't leave a message to come and pick up my parcel at the postoffice. So it lay there waiting for me and me non the wiser. It's time for a huge parcel mailbox, urgently. I'm fed up with inept mail deliverer...

So today I was able to pick up my parcel, as this second time I got notice of the missed delivery. Really maddening is, that the package would have fitted into my mailbox, I wonder, if he was just to lazy to try...

I got a lovely mission from yanagi, thank you so much!

An African Safari in orange, which was for quite some time on my wishlist!

Apart from the lovely mission whishlist coin, I got a antique silver personal yanagi, a micro Multi coin, two pins, three pathtags, one of them yanagis personal as well, a wooden nickel and of course the traveling Favourite Point, which is part of this mission.

A lovely calender covered in native art and pencil fitted well with the african wildlife theme, as well as the wrapping paper. Somebody clearly paid huge attention to all the details, I'm left speechless.

    :anicute: :anicute: :anicute:

Even though I knew by now, that a parcel was on the way to me, so the contents were still a huge surprise, thank you sooooooo much for fullfilling my wish.

Time for the next round: please sign up for the next round within a fortnight, I will choose the receipient on the 23rd of July.

(I hope, that's giving every one enough time, even though it's holiday time?)

  4. Oh dear, that is a tough task I got there. I probably won't be able to get my mission partner a coin, he doesn't have already...

Ah, always something for the traders box...

Now off to find an unusual coin, a nice postcard, and some caches to get this show on the road...

  5. Welcome back in these parts of the forum!

And of course I do remember you! The long travel a coin from Scotland to Germany is legendary. More than three month. The postman must have hiked the distance and used rowing boat across the Channel...

Hope to see you more often here, now that you've found the GPSr.

(How on earth could it have gone missing I wonder?)

  6. This sounds great!

Unfortunately I won't be going on a road trip this summer, but I was on the road at Easter! Such a great time!

But I'd love to watch a trackable of mine to travel back to me, so I'll send an activated trackable as well as a mission coin!

  7.

Primary interest seems to be the:

    1. Unactivated coin

    2. Best local caches or local postcards/pictures from your area.

    3. Local trinket / souvenir (optional)

    4. Activated coin with a Mission and the consolidated future travel reports. (optional)

Count me in, this sounds like a fun mission!

  8. Not sure what to call it. But how about trading an unactivated coin like usual and an activated coin meant to be placed in a cache near the recipient.

    That is a great idea.

But, in too many caching communities, Coins seem to go missing. It would be a shame for someone to receive a lovely Mission Coin, put it in a cache and have it disappear. If the Coin has a proxy that can travel, then there would be less chance for a proxy to disappear than the "real" Coin.

And, some people do not wish to activate their Coins. My collection has three times more unactivated than activated!

Edit to add: if it was a Mission with a Micro or very inexpensive Coin,

that would be a good option!!!

    I understand this suggestion as:

I'll send an unactivated coin to my mission partner (as usual).

I also put into the parcel an activated coin to put into a local cache.

This would be MY coin, so I could choose whatever I'm willing to send out into the wild and won't be too upset, if it should go missing.

Not all coins do, even though there is a great number of my trackables gone MIA. But not even an acryllic token trackable is save out there, one of mine went missing, even though I would have sworn they're to ugly to get stolen...

Nevertheless, I'd be willing to chance it and sent an activated coin of mine to be dropped from my mission partner into a local cache. Or being taken along on a road trip and tropped as far off as possible, but please with correct visited logs to get the milage.

edit: silly typo. Nothing new, I'm afraid...

  9. I went on a road trip over the Easter Holidays.

    4,5 days. 3400km. 5 Countries. 3 new Countries for my stats. 43 finds. 10 DNFs. 3 FTF.

Starting in Germany, through Poland, Russia (Kaliningrad), and Lithuania to Latvia and back.

    It was great!

I'd love a Summer Mission with Cache recommendations.

From this past trip my recommendation for Oblast Kaliningrad would be: http://coord.info/GC2J8MX

I didn't manage to upload the pictures yet...

  10. Congrats to a great mission parcel, that looks lovely and like a real treasure trove!

Sorry for the late reply, I was on an Easter Break.

And since then quite busy at work.

I'm in for the next round as well, my search list is here: TB2DQY8

  11. Missed your post probably because it was under s.f.g.'s post of drneal and that post crossed my eyes

    I'm not surprised.

That probably crossed everyones eyes. I didn't know they make cards like that! Unbelievable!

  12. Received word that my "Mission Sent" had arrived this week, possibly my recipient isn't sure of how to post pictures or is very busy, hope they do.

    They did. Sort of.

html is tricky, you miss just some strange taps and everything is scrambled...

Yeah!!! My Easter mission arrived today and what a great surprise it was. Two beautiful coins, a pt, and a very nice Easter card. Thank you very much kini_ont for the great gifts (perfect choice) and Thank you Laval K-9 for hosting this fun mission. Happy Easter everybody!!!

  13. Just a few days to busy to check this thread, and there you go, my mission arrived at destination...

Glad, it was liked, happy with my card and coins and a huge THANK YOU for organising the fun!

So my mission is fullfilled at both ends.

  14. I do like to touch my coins. I need to turn them over and admire the back without remembering on which position on the album page it is.

So I do have most of my coins in (several) boxes.

But the activated ones I've put into a coin collectors drawers box. In my case it's two beba maxibox. The site is in German and not very userfriendly, I'm afraid.

But I'm sure, there are similar boxes availlable in the states as well.

The drawers can have different spaces and all are filled with felt, so the coins are well protected, but open to take out and admire.

The box is standing on a small table beside my bed, just gives you an idea, how important my coins are...

    My mission arrived!

A lovely easter card with lots of flowers came together with a sign as where the 'Geocaching Way' is to be found and a girlish pink dove of peace.

Lovely card, marvellous coins, which I both didn't have yet.

    Thank you very much!
