I am honored to see my name and cache series listed here along with you guys caches. It's been some hard work doing these but I am enjoying it. I'm over thirty some cache strong now with many more to come. If I'm following this correctly the series started by Cav Scout "Kentucky Spirit Quest" is okay since it follows the "ISQ" format. the "Ky Spirit Quest" needs additional information in order to fall into this category. I know I'll be corrected if I'm mistaken here.
  3. Such a beautiful park to have it in as well.
  4. Well?? When? Where? and how much for raffle tickets??? Raffle tickets will be US400 each, with profits to defray cost of hotdogs and any excess sent to Patriot Riders...We be looking at April 11, 2009. It is 17 degrees there right now at the site--Potawatomi Wildlife Park in Tippecanoe, Indiana (a private park) . Can't do the reservoirs this year since they banned geocaching. I'll be back from MOGA by then and should be rested up. What do you need help with?

The plot thickens. what is happening here???? BAD DEAL Looking over the cache page it's probably because of these lines. It takes it from being a general cache to one that becomes an agenda. Again not one that I may agree with but, we need to adhere to the rules. This KSQ series is intended to honor those who came before us and show respect to those who have fought for our country. God Bless our troops in harm's way.
  6. Depending on the date of the event I should be able to help out.
  7. You beat me to posting it here. I can't wait!!!!
  8. The snow will never melt. It only melts where Patrick has been at.
  9. Actually, Area 51 is the most accessible place right now. Of course Camping is what's currently snowed under, and holding up registration TMA I think you like planning things this way try going after your cache Ohio Spirit Quest #26: A Little Family History in the snow. You really can't make turns in that place in the snow.

Yes, we certainly wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of the Taliban, for example... Surely they have enough on their plate that they don't need harassment from some prejudiced moron on Geocaching.com. This topic has been one that is very sensitive and close to many of my friends hearts. As a Combat Veteran myself when the changes were implemented all of us at MAGC were not happy. However, as a soldier you understand that sometimes orders are given that you may not completely understand or agree to based on your beliefs. However, you need to still follow them. As all of us using this web site has checked off the user agreements we are bound by Groundspeak's guidelines rather we like them or not. It has nothing to do with yours or mine beliefs. With that said the information I did get back at this point is that the generic logo pointing back to the MAGC web site is allowed. Generic meaning it doesn't display any reference to "I support the troops", shows the yellow ribbon that many of us have on our vehicles. As for the cache page SixDogTeam archived a simple removal of the additional emblems and personal points of view would have sufficed. Archiving a cache is an extreme measure of protest. However, it's not mine to protest. Once I get further information I'll post it here. I closing we all have ways to honor and support the troops. Unfortunately, the guidelines are specific in that we cannot do so on the cache page. So, let's please honor those guidelines. Remember the reviewers are volunteers and they are just trying to in force the guidelines as they interpret them.
  12. State Parks are one of our great resources and politics should never come into play with them. Good luck in getting this set up.
  13. Here's what sucks. I got a call last night and the reservations I made were canceled. The hotel chain is closing the hotel in the area because of the economy. I was going to take a week off and already had 3 days reserved in the area to do some caching.

I am seeing if I can get some clarification. First we don't want to blame any one particular cacher. Groundspeak did ask a while back that "agenda" items be removed from cache pages. These included the "Yellow Ribbons", the "I" or "We Support Our Troops". As a member of the Military Association of Geocachers we did correspond with Groundspeak on this. We may not always agree with the decisions made. However, it is their site not ours. Since the site is viewed by people from all over, not just the U.S.A. Groundspeak didn't want these on their cache pages. As for the logo we had worked out a compromise to have a generic logo that only pointed to our groups web site. The logo on the page that started this recent conversation was the generic logo and was approved by Groundspeak. I have requested clarification on the removal of the logo. However, the requests for the other items to be removed were requested a while back. With the number of active caches out there it just takes a while to inform everyone who has these items on cache pages to remove them. Let's wait a while until we here back from TPTB. I know it's frustrating but, a little editing on the page will resolve the issue.
  15. Great job Daggy. So, when are you going to pass Mark?

I'm a little puzzled on the request to remove the MAGC logo. There were some of those that did say "Support our Troops" or, had the Yellow Ribbon on them and those were asked globally by Groundspeak to be changed out. This one would have complied with that request. Based on the past conversations with MAGC and Groundspeak I could see the other requests. I know this one hadn't been found since its posting. I do hope that you don't archive any others just because of this request. GC17DG8 You have too many great ISQs out there to be archiving.
  17. Pay attention to new caches placed within 528-ft of your archived cache. It's a possibility that someone wanted to place a cache in the area but was blocked by yours. It's always a possibility. There's a new foot bridge being built nearby. So, who knows.
  18. If you are going to use old Rx bottles please sanitize them first. Some of them have residuals left in them that if exposed to the skin could cause a reaction to some people. Most people don't read the warnings that come with the Rx in the first place. You would be surprised what you might read.
  19. I will take photos of certain cachers log books when I find them. I know others who take photos of every log they sign and post all of them. Reason, have you ever had a log deleted? If so, you have the proof you signed the log. If you post the photo with the log then your proof is there. I was posting all of them for one cache hider until I found all their caches. I know a couple of cache hiders who have questioned my signatures on caches before so, I make a note to photograph those as well when I come across those.
  20. I know not many people like nano's. This one I had really wasn't too hard to find. I replaced it twice after it came up missing. Last week I received an email from a cacher who found it but, couldn't open it. I had it in an area were there could be a possibility of ice on the cache. However, I couldn't open it either. After looking it over (took it home). Someone had actually glued it shut. Now, I know these are relatively cheap and I could have replaced it again. However, this would have been the 4th container in just a little over a year in the same place. So, I went ahead and archived it. One time missing okay, twice possible someone did something on purpose. This time it was intentional. I guess it just depends on how many times you want to keep replacing caches.
  21. Kind of lost me here. Looks like this is in Wyandotte Oklahoma. Not quite part of the Midwest forum so I was a little perplexed there for a bit. Even on the website you have to look at the logo to see where it is being held at.
