  1. My Map 76 is not my main unit and it has not been used for 4 months. Now when I turn it on, it says acquiring satellites but it does not find even 1! I thought it might be a problem with the internal antenna so I attached my external but get the same thing. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?? Thanks, Bob and Dody
  2. Just put the shields on the 60cs and Tungsten E PDA. They look great. I'll wait 24 hours before turning them on but I see no distortion on the screen.
  3. Just went and ordered the shields for the 60cs, Tungsten E, and our 60G I-Pod on this recommendation. The PDA film on the 60cs just doesn't cut it. I'll let you know! Bob
  4. Neo: ThankYou!! They were shown as geocaches before but maybe the edit made sure they transferred as such. I will use this in the future. Thanks again, Bob
  5. Does anybody have an answer?? Recently, when I take a query I get from an e-mail, select "open it," the data comes up in Easy GPS. I select transfer to device. I am getting the caches shown as nice blue flags instead of the little closed boxes. The waypoints do not allow me to use the nice geocaching functions of my 60cs. I figure it's something simple but I am at a loss. It has done it the last 2 times I have downloaded caches. i don't know if it has to do with my increasing the selectivity of my queries. Thanks in advance for any help. Bob
  6. Have had a 60cs for a year, no problems. Great unit. As far as mounts or holders, I got a Garmin Suction mount for a Rino as it looked like the "Knob", would work with the Knob on my 60cs. It works great and adjusts for all three vehicles. It will hold the 60cs at an angle to reduce glare while I'm driving.
  7. DGS: I have wondered that as well. There seem to be few caches in southern France. When I was there I used my GPS for navigation, had done only a few caches here in the states and did not elect to do any caching there. I now have several caches on my watch list near Avignon and they get visited only once every few months. It also seems the people who cache in France are from Germany or the Netherlands. I have corresponded with a cacher from Roquefort, FR, but it was in regards to his log in Eygpt. I think there must not be that many cachers in France. I'll be coming back soon and I'll be caching this time!! Bob

    Name Changes

We have been registered since 3/03 as Bob and Dody. What would happen if I wanted to change it? My wife has been unable to go out on very many finds, I seem to post in my name only, so I was just wondering. Sorta strange to go to an event and say I'm Bob and Dody. Thanks Bob
  9. Have a Garmin Map76 and also purchased a no name external off of E-Bay. Works great. One caution, if your vehicle has a compass, don't attach your antenna to the roof. Use the hood or trunk lid. The magnetic attachment magnetized the roof and messed up the car display. Had to re-set the car compass. As long as the antenna is attached to metal not directly connected to the roof, things work fine.
  10. I have gone through the manual but I can't seem to find how to remove a "Go to" directional line once I have selected a waypoint and then chosen go to. If it was a did not find, I don't want to delete the waypoint just ot get rid of the line. Probably something simple but I'm figuring out that this device has alot more capabilities than I will probably ever use. Thanks in advance. Bob
