  1. I really like the idea of a DNF icon on the View Map. I find myself looking at the caches again when I'm working with map view, because I don't remember I DNF'd it previously. This way in the View Map I could always sort to look at just my DNF's or remove them from the screen the same way I can with my founds. I could use the Ignore feature, but I really like to keep them on my map.
  2. I finally figured it out. When you hold your finger on the status bar it takes you into dashboard configuration and all I need to do is set to Status and that brings the satellite, date, battery and time back up. Now to make a note so I don't forget this again.
  3. Somehow I managed to get my Garmin 600 main menu messed up. I had the Satellite strength, date and Battery information on the Status bar and underneath was the Current Time. I cannot get this information back up. I've gone to Setup> Main Menu and under "Change Dashboard" made sure it was set to Geocache. By having it set this way I have the information at the top of my screen set to the compass info which I don't want. How do I get this back to the Satellite, date, battery and time information?
  4. I was just doing some research on the internet and found this link: https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={d88d0a20-30e6-11e3-f27b-000000000000} I have to do search near in order to find all of my "missing" caches. When I did that I was able to pull up the caches. I was just coming in here to update my post when you sent yours. Thanks for the information. This is the first time I've tried to find caches greater than 100 miles since I got my new Garmin.
  5. I have a pocket query set up for 1000 records and I'm trying to load it to my Oregon Garmin 600. I copy and and paste to the GPX folder as usual however when I do a search no geocaches are there. I've loaded the same query on my etrex 20 without a problem. Any ideas of why I have this issue and how to correct it?
  6. That is what I find confusing. I would thing one would be the NiMH rechargeable and then the NiMH as I think it is on the Oregon 450.
  7. when I change the settings for the battery the GPS setting under the satellite changes.
  8. I have no idea what you mean by this. Battery settings have no effect on the behavior of your GPS but only on the way the battery status is displayed and probably makes power management a bit more efficient.
  9. I have precharged selected right now and when I look at my satellite information and how close the GPS shows the settings are tighter with the precharged setting than the NiMH setting. Thanks for the information.
  10. Eneloops are pre-charged, LSD (low self discharge) NiMh batteries. Select Pre-charged in the options.
  11. Yes, you wrote that in your OP. What kind? It's on the batteries. Could be NiCad, NiMH. I suspect it's just NiMH and then you should select that.
  12. What kind of Eneloop batteries are you using? Should be clear what to choose, are the precharged or not. In any case I just use NiMH.
  13. I cannot find any information on how to set my battery under Settings in my Garmin Oregon 600. For the NiMH there are two choices. NiMH and Precharged NiMH. I have the Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I can't find any information on this at Garmin. Which settings should I be using?
  14. My membership renewal is due June 24, 2015 and I renewed on the 13th. My page still shows that I need to renew my membership. I was assuming that it would set to the new date of June 24, 2016. I got an email that stating "Welcome to Geocaching Premium" which seemed a bit strange I was expecting a "Thanks for your renewal". Should I just sit tight and assume that when the 24th rolls around all will be well and the premium date will update correctly? Hansons in Texas
  15. Thanks, I'm only at 1500 with the overlapping caches.
  16. Ok I removed my three pocket queries and rebooted. Then I reloaded one pocket query and rebooted. I now have description and hints back again. When I load my pocket queries I'm just loading them to the GPX file on my Garmin. Could the three pocket queries have caused a problem since they overlap? Thanks for the help, if this happens again I'll know what to do.
  17. Try rebooting your e20 will all caches removed from the unit. After the reboot reload the caches and reboot again. The is much easier to do if you are placing you caches on a micro SD card, which is the recommended way to do as Garmin has a habit of occasionally locking up on a cache. I removed all the caches. How do I reboot the eTrex?
  18. My eTrex 20 is not working correctly and I don't know if this relates to putting new batteries in or not. I have pocket queries downloaded and these have been working fine. I had to change batteries about a week ago and when I went geocaching I found I could pull up the geocache and use the compass, however when I went back into the geocache to look at either the description or the hint the screen when blank. I could not navigate out but had to try to turn the Garmin off and then back on again. I've reset the Garmin and the problem persists. The only changes recently have been new batteries and a download of updates. I have to wait until Monday to contact Garmin. Hopefully someone here has seen this issue.
  19. I'll have to test the map and see if I see all 17 there. I'd have to undo the PQs I've got set up and retest, I'll do that this weekend when I've got some time. I'm learning as I go here.
  20. Awesome. I knew I had to unzip, just wasn't sure after that. I know have them all on my device. Thank you so much for your help.
