No, I upgraded the firmware before I ever stored any waypoints, and that's the only time it's been hooked up to my computer.
I'll try clearing the memory and resetting default settings.

For two days now, my new Meridian GPS has lost waypoints that have been in the user database. There is no SD card installed. Earlier today, I had a "home" waypoint saved as well as one for a cache that I was going to try to find tomorrow. Tonight I turned on the unit and there was no sign of them. I installed the latest firmware day before yesterday. What could be the problem???

I saw the 'discontinued' status at GPS City and also at Amazon. Wierd that Magellan still has it listed on their site though.

I just ordered a Meridian GPS from Outpost.com for $129, which I thought was an excellent price even though it's been discontinued. As a beginning Geocacher, will it have any shortcomings that I should watch out for? I did a search here and had trouble narrowing down my results so I thought I try the direct route ;-)

I wonder if it's water resistant? It just doesn't look like a "ruggedized" tool to me.
