For the last few months I have been unable to log a Geocache on my Windows 10 desktop, using either Chrome or Firefox (both current/updated versions). When I click "Log Geocache" the only thing that happens is that the tab flashes once. I can select and Upload an image, yet not Edit a previous log. I can fully access my account, such as Profile information, yet unable to log any cache. I have Restored the Settings, Cleared Browsing data & Cookies, added www.geocaching.com to the cookie exceptions list, and have turned off my VPN. Using my mobile phone, with either the Geocaching App or accessing GC.com via Chrome I am fully able to properly log a cache. I have not noted any other sites that limit my access. Help?

In the past I've done things such as sending an email request asking please remove photo/TN with varying results, from "I'm sorry, I remove it" to angry responses to none responses. It would make it easier to point to a specific guideline rather than making it appear as "because I say so".

I propose a change to the Travel Bug FAQ page. Many a time a finder has either used the Tracking Number in their log entry or have posted a close-up photo showing the Tracking Number, which often leads to "virtual" DISCOVERYs, meaning they discovered the log or photo, not the actual item. My proposed change: On the "Travel Bug FAQ", Under the topic: Is there any Travel Bug etiquette?" add, Do not list the Tracking Number in your log entry or post a photograph that shows the Tracking Number.

Why is it, when using the GC search box for "GC18kEK", a archived cache, I get 717 results, none of which is the desired cache, but, if I use the same search in Google it pops right out at the top of the page?

Me, I really do not care how many Geocache anyone else found. Unless I know you personally, if you disappeared from the face of the earth today, it would have no effect on my life. On the other hand, if you have placed caches that I have found or will find, then you have had or will have an effect on my life (whether I ever meet you or not) and I thank you that entertainment you provide.

The first, and best Letterbox I've done was Coyote's Journey GC103QQ. It matched, and surpassed, my expectations, from reading the Geocaching Letterbox description, "...uses clues instead of coordinates..." Now-a-days, 100% of the, so called "Letterboxs" I've found are simply caches with stamps. Nothing to avoid, yet nothing special.

I absolutely HATE the reCAPTCHA verification system. I find it tedious and irritating. Most of the images are overly busy, distracting and annoyingly frustrating to decipher. Okay, I'm old, with bad vision and little patience, but there has to be a better way. Please, I beg you, GET RID OF IT!

I've other issues with the Oregon that I didn't feel I needed to go into more detail beyond giving one example. I really do appreciate your sincere response (as opposed to sarcasm of others).

Okay, it would not be the first time I couldn't figure out a function of the Oregon, so, how do you set it up to go-to/search for either type of waypoint without changing Dashboards?

Yes, on the map screen you can see all waypoints, but that is not the same as doing a search/viewing the lists (either Geocache or non-Geocache, and then going to the selected item. Perhaps I'm not phrasing it clearly, if I'm searching for a Geocache, I will have the units DASHBOARD in Geocaching mode/display and I will NOT be able to see/go-to non-Geocache waypoints. And if my DASHBOARD is set to non-Geocache display/mode I cannot see/go-to Geocaches. I have to switch the displayed DASHBOARD. All 4 of my previous Garmin GPSr's displayed all waypoints on the map AND when doing a NEXT WAYPOINT displayed a list of ALL waypoints, starting from the nearest, no matter the type, AND did not require changing DASHBOARDS/displays based on a type.

I've had my Oregon 600 since 2014 but have decided its time for a new unit. I've only owned Garmin GPSr products and I've been quite happy with them, with the exception of the Oregon, which I'm overall dissatisified with (ok, actually I HATE the unit). While researching new units, I've even downloaded their Owner Manuals, but I'm not finding the information I want. For example, one of my biggest peves with the Oregon, I cannot manually enter a Geocache waypoint and any waypoint I do manually enter, displays with a Geocache icon but without the Geocache attritibues, i.e., I have to switch screens/modes to view either Geocaches or non-Geocache waypoints, not both/all at the same time. Thus, if I want to put out a couple of new Geocaches, the first thing I want to do is search for NEAREST Geocaches to make sure I'm outside the minimum distance. Once I move down the trail and I want to place a second cache, I then have to switch screens/modes first to check if I'm far enough from my first placement (which would be a non-Geocache waypoint), then change to my Geocaching mode to search for nearby active caches. Along the same lines, with the older GPSr's if you had all waypoints associated with a specific cache loaded (e.g., parking, trailhead, final, etc.) they would all display in the same search window and you can choose which one to go to. Not true with the Oregon, whereas you have switch modes to see/search for the interim waypoints and then also change your compass display to either Geocache or non-Geocache pointer display. I'm interested in the eTrex series or GPSMAP 64 series. As mentioned earlier, I've downloaded the Owner Manuals, but was unable to find out how these units treat waypoints. Can only one type be viewed/searched at a time, or do they all waypoints display in a search, with the ability to "go-to" either type without changes displays? Help?

Experiencing much the same. Using both Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines and IE11. Page "freezes" until the "geocaching.com is not responding due to a long-running script" alert appears and the "Stop script" button is clicked. This ONLY shows up on the individual cache pages (not when logging a cache, or viewing any other GC.com pages).

I own 65 trackables and at any one time a good number of them are missing (most in the hands of newbies who no longer play and don't respond to emails). I no longer buy new ones. I've re-issued/resurrected most of my trackables, upto 5 times, at one time or another. I've finally settled on using plastic Luggage Tags, found at WalMart (at the key counter). They come multi-colored, 2 to a package, including a short chain, for under two bucks. I print out a small infomation card, that goes in place of the address card, with the tracking number. Example here Easy and cheap.

You cannot create a geocache waypoint. You can however enter next stage coordinates for a multi or puzzle cache (or any cache actually) When navigating to a cache, select the geocaching icon or press the geocaching dashboard to bring up the options page, then select coordinates from the lower left and enter the next stage. This will automatically start navigating to the coords you entered and it will show on your cache list as Next Stage. Continue as needed until you find the final and then log it. That worked! The solution I needed (and from a SD local no less). I have a long way to go to feel comfortable with the Oregon 600. Thank you kindly.

What first initiated the problem was going after a "multi" where as I didn't have the coordinates and in the short time I've had the Oregon 600 I've needed that function about 5 times.

Using a Oregon 600 - when I enter a new Geocache manually (and making sure the Geocache icon is selected), and then select "Where to" the new item is NOT listed in the Geocache list. It is found under "Waypoints". The problem, after selecting the WP with "Where to" and switching to the Geocaching screen, the displayed goto WP is NOT WHAT I SELECTED, it is acting as though I had not selected anything and is defaulting to the nearest cache (that was not manually entered). Any help? P.S. Other problems with my Oregon 600: Numerous software crashes/freezes, compass arrow often points 180d out, poor GUI design (requires too many button presses to do any one thing), and more...

I have the same case and am quite happy with it. With mine, the GPSr fits quite snugly. Yes, it is a handful (bulky) but I'm good with that. My previous unit, a GPSMAP 60CSx, that had a thin leatherette case, took one beating too many and the case screws holes became stripped. The hole for my power/usb cable is right where it is supposed to be. There is also a hole for a camera for the units with a built-in camera. The belt clip, that is spring steel, I found to be adjusted too "tight" where I had a hard time opening it enough to clip onto my belt and I had to use quite a bit of force to open it a bit for easy use. Me, I recommend it (alas, thats more than what I can say for my new Oregon 600, that I'm not so satisfied with)
