  1. Ooops... Sorry about the size of the photo can't seem to resize it.
  2. Great thread. I don't tend to take anything but I like to leave whatever I can fit into a cache. Geotokens, badges, keyrings, toys, etc. Funnily enough after several moves I just found a box containing all sorts of Geocaching bits and swag goodies. I'd completely forgotten I'd bought it all. There's 11 TBs (unregistered) Keyrings bouncy balls info log books keychains skipping ropes badges geotokens .....and a 6" cuddly Signal the Frog (the geocaching mascot)
  3. Love this thread. I think the country you cache in makes a difference to what you carry too. I carry: Spare logs little ziploc baggies small bits of swag My geocoins and tags (that I am too scared to release) wipes alcohol gel Note book (I usually have a few of these including a specific geocaching one) Book and/or kindle multi-tool penknife pens camera will also soon include a magnetic extendable tool, extendable mirror, and pocket flexible grabber.
  4. Third, I found some topics that relate to this subject, read them and this is probably the most significant: Seek but don´t hide I am really in a stand still, regarding this issue. Can you point out more PROs and CONs of being a GeoLeech? I´m sure I am not thinking about all of them, but some opinions would be welcome before making a decision that is now more inclined on becoming a GeoLeech myself. While I appreciate what you're saying I object to the terminology you're using. Geoleech is unnecessarily negative. I've been caching for 9 years now (my old account had hundreds of finds) but I have never placed a cache. This is because I move around a lot, so I can't be sure I could upkeep a cache once I'd placed it. But I love hunting caches, should I stop because I don't have the means to place any? There are lots of reasons people might not place caches. Just because you can and do, doesn't mean every can.
  5. I think what I'm taking from this discussion is that it's not necessarily the log being long that is a problem but it's relevance to the actual cache it is being logged on. When I first started caching (which is longer ago than you would think from this account - since 2006ish) I was tolf a quick TFTC on the actual physical log was okay but should never be used online. Now I see (and use) it much more. However, I would never just put TFTC. It feels impolite but that is to me personally. Even a quick dash and grab micro has something more I can say. I try to leave at least a sentence......even when logging straight from my phone.
  6. No, not really. It more indicates that the sport is populated by a lot of whiners. Pretty much every post you've made in this thread has been confrontational, now you've moved on to personal insults. I'm not sure that's adding to the discussion.
  7. An interesting micro can be just as good as a bigger hide......I once found a cache that was a little magnetic cache (thumbnail size) inside a snail shell, and attached to an intricately designed metal gate. Really great hide. And I totally understand the necessity of micros in busy city centres. However, it drives me nuts when I spend 90mins wandering around a city collecting facts to get coordinates ony for the cache to be a micro or nano. I know I can see the cache size before I start but I find a lot of city centre caches are multis like this. Makes me sad.
