Hello comunity! Ive been thinking, there is a lot of uknown caches around that aquires that you log different kind of caches\places\D/T combinations/countries etc.... So called challenges. Just around teh corner from where I live there is a cache that requires that i log 50 caches with the word church in it, obviously caches placed near churches... But why not make a new cache-type called "Challenges" instead of using "Unknown" og "Traditional" cache as most people do today? Id support a new cache type for sure! Any thoughts? Groundspeak comment? /Run4thetop

Thanks for the reply guys, ive been looking at the 62s since ive read this, and its a fair price :-) Its about 335$ here (Norway, Yeah everthing is expencive here). I see that Garmin 64s is out to, any thought? Is the 64s that much better?

Hiya folks and a good day to you all. Like the topic says: What GPS to get an ascending Geocacher? Some criterias: Color screen (maybe?), semi to large size sceen, easy to use and easy to upload Geocache data from Groundspeak. Batteries: Well, the loner they last, the better ofcourse, but with color screen and a large one i guess something has to give :-) Price: Well, cheap is allways nice, but with these criterias i expect it to cost some. This is good advice Chief301, thank you. It makes sense to take several readings. Ill be a bit more patient with my next hides :-) Good news for my Smart phone and wallet aswell :-)

Hello fellow cachers! SO far i have successfully hidden 7 caches. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 With a coordinate app to find exact coords +/- 3-5meters. The caches have been found most of the times. But i see that It should be even more accurate. Is there a way to get really accurate coordinates With just a Smartphone? I mean how much better is a GPS compared to a smartphone these days? Smartphone gps have improved alot the latest years haesnt it? I plan to buy a Gps sometime in the future anyways, but for now i am stuck With my Samsung, and i really enjoy hiding caches :-) Also any tip for a easy-to-use gps for geocaching is much appreciated. Aha, so thats the only way huh, that and getting lucky when out finding caches? I have a follow-up Question, how do i know when and where the events are? Is there a way to get informed, Groundspeak site?

Hi all, Ive noticed when snoping around on Peoples profiles, that the majority have allmost the same amount of trackables found, than they have caches found. How do you all find so many trackables? Ive found 32 caches now, so im just in the start of this thing, but not a single trackable found. Is there a way to be notified when a trackables is dropped within a certain radius or something? Or do you keep watch over all caches in the area? Thanks,

Thanks for the pointers Gitchee-Gummee, thats exactly what i meant. It is not "placed" in the cache just yet. Why is it not a good move to log it beeing there until after its published? Can other users actually see the cache page and its location before even while its just "under Control"? If they can, ill wait, to prevent it getting snag`d ;-) I am very excited about this first cache, and the GC is a sort of celebration of it :-) edit: Followup question: How do i "Place" it in my cache? Is it on the trackable`s page, then New log? The write unique cachecode in the tracknumber section? edit2: Nevermind, found out how after some exploring on the website. :-)

Hi all, my first post on these forums! Just started Geocaching like 10 days ago, and allready totally addicted! I bought my first traceable today, a travel ingot. I activated it, and put it in my own very first cache that i hid (which is currently waiting for controll). Is there anything i should have done With my Geocoin? Should i have logged it at that cache before it travels further? Cheers!
