  1. Found it. Thanks. I had to got to the new dashboard that I dont use. Thank you much, tony
  2. Yes I think it was "ignore list". However I don't see any list of ignored caches on my list page?
  3. Hi there, Im Tony. I havent been on a geocaching forum in years. But I got a question. In the past I deleted or blocked local caches that I didn't want. Tough puzzles or caches I didn't want to learn like Wherigos. I didn't like all them piling up on my "filter out finds" list. Now I would like to get all them geocaches I blocked back and I don't know how? Any help please? Thanks Tony
  4. I tried adding a new pic to my gallery and that will not come up either. I'm hoping its an easy fix that I can't figure out. Any suggestions?
  5. hey There, I screwed up! I was planning on deleting all the dumb pics in my gallery of me holding my gps beside some Earth Cache. Well I must have clicked to quickly without reading. And now I cannot get any of my pics, only the description. Can some one help me get them back?? I am using Mozilla Firefox, also. Thanks, Tony (AShan)
  6. I went to Strawberryelectron.com and tried downloading the tinygpx. It would only download about 18%. I'll try and contact them. Thank you all for your help, Tony
  7. I would like to managed my waypoints in a more abbreviated, compact method. You know, thorough with the basics, but without all the stuff on the whole page. I have a basic ETrex with no cables to hook to my CP. I don't want to send to GPS, PDA, or phone, just a simplified version on PAPER. Can this be done? I do plan on upgrading to a better GPS when the tree's start leafing out again in Spring. thanks, Tony
  8. I'm thinking of buying an additional gps. My wife wants one to assist her when she drives down in the twin cities. I want one for geocaching. This is my question, can I do the work of putting the caches on my home computer and then download them through the USB port to the gps? Does GSAK or cachmate do that? Or the Garmin or Magellan software that comes with the gps. I had my eye on a nuvi200 and a Magellan Maestro 3100 which I see has the sirfIII chip, either of which was $250. I really don't want to hand enter 20+ waypoints in a gps. thanks, Anthony
  9. I went on the computer before I went to bed and saw a new cache hidden about 5 miles from home. I live in the country in northern Minnesota. I thought, ahhh my first FTF. So I went out with my trusty LED flashlight and eTrex. Parked and hiked in about 1/2 mile, 220' from the cache my LED light goes out. I thought just great!!!! So after strugglin through the trail, no moonlight, I hear a big crash in the woods. Bear or moose I thought, as my hearts pumpin about 140 beats per minute. Another 1/10 of a mile by a big pond, a beaver slaps his tail on the water and scares me half to death. Actually the lit screen on my eTrex was a problem because my eyes were adjusting to the darkness. Someone else got the FTF in the mornin, and I've yet to have a FTF. Moral of story: Be prepared for the worst, have a backup light. Don't believe that LED bulbs dont go out! Be prepared to spend the night in the woods if you mess up! Anthony
  10. how do I convert these funky waypoints of a puzzle to work with google earth waypoints? one example: 44.958755,-93.272381 there is 10 of these total. what is the formula or the waypoint changer? thanks, Tony
  11. I will install EasyGPS on my computer. Thanks for that tip. The cable that runs from my GPS to my Etrex is an accessory that cost $30 and my Etrex is about 7 or 8 years old. Its the cheap basic model and it doesn't, to me, make sense to buy accessories for it. I need to upgrade. Simplest way to get started is to install EasyGPS on your PC, hook up the cable (or buy one if needed), run you PQ, and send the results to your eTrex. The whole process after installing EasyGPS takes about 3 minutes.
  12. hi there, I just became a premium member. I mean what benefits can I get now. I don't have a PDA. I have a cheap old yellow ETrex that would not be easy downloading waypoints into. This GPX and LOC file stuff, pocket queries, is all tough stuff to get started. You see I am not very computer literate. I would like to do "caches along the route". Or eventually upgrade my GPS. And the choices in supporting software is mind boggling with no advice. Whats simple, and easy to get started? Tony
  13. I been comparing GPS models, and have a couple questions: Lowrance has 16 channels with WAAS.(which I'm guessing has a built in patch antenna) My ETrex has 12 channels, with a patch antenna, which I sometimes have a problem with in heavy tree cover, and I'm thinking of upgrading. How about the Garmins with the "high sensitivity receiver", how many channels? Is the quadrahelix model gps's much superior in dense tree cover, compared to a Lowrance model with 16 satelite reception? What exactly is SIRF? How is it so important? thanks, Anthony
  14. I have a couple questions. Is 8mb enough? What does the PDA show on the screen, the exact thing as your home computer? How many cache pages of info can you put into a 8mb PDA? Some users say you need 2 PDA's, whats the point of that? Once you get your PDA, many folks say to get Cachemate and GSAK together. Is that kinda the standard for a novice like myself? Are they hard to install? Thanks, I'm thinking about moving into the next level of this sport with a PDA. ashann
  15. how you doin eh? ashann from Minnesota. I've been GeoCaching for about 5 months and have 200 finds and no hides,(I am working on it though). I rarely take anything from a cache, I just like to log the find and explore new places. Sometimes, I find seeking a cache on a long hike is what I need to help unwind. I like the forums to get info and read occasionally. I usually don't like to spend much time on the computer. I am thinking about going to the next level of GeoCaching. Becoming a Premium Member, and maybe upgrading my GPS or getting a hand PC. I am very interested in the, "Caches Along the Route" feature, and would like to learn more about that. Any advice would be very welcome! thanks, ashann

  19. hi there, I was wondering, if I traveled to Cancun, Mexico from way up in northern Minnesota and wanted to find a cache. What would I have to do to my eTrex gps to get the proper coordinates? thanks, tony
  20. hey there, I own eTrex handheld gps (personal navigator). It came with 2 waypoints allready in it when I bought it: 1) grmeur 2) grmtwn What are they? Why are they there? Can I delete them, or take them out of my gps's memory and have everything working fine? thanks, Ashann of Duluth MN
  21. I went to google earth and it has the coordinates of my home across the road from where my Etrex Gps has the coordinates. How do I know that locally I will be at the same coordinates as others? I mean I want to be as close to the cache as I can, not 60' away. thanks, Tony
