In conclusion, I was on hold for about a minute before talking to a delightful woman in India who was able to walk me through determining what the software conflict was and how some startup file that WinXP loaded automatically was conflicting with the MapSend software. We disabled all the non-XP startup files with run:MSCONFIG utility and upon reboot the Mapsend software started up naturally. I still haven't determined exactly which startup file is in conflict, but it must not be an important one as I've been working on this computer for going on two days now without any problems.
  2. bummer, i'm trying not to be cynical, but I'm more than a little surprised that no one seems to be able to offer any suggestions to help a newbie remedy his situation. I still haven't heard back from magellan, either, but maybe today will be my lucky day.

  5. I can't run directroute. I uninstalled it, reinstalled and now when I try to run it nothing happens. That was why I reloaded MapSend Manager and tried to run Directroute through it.
  6. All the Registered GPS Info fields are grayed out (Program applied, Email, and GPS unit s/n)
  7. Alright helpful folks, I'm sure this is an easy question for someone with experience. I'm new to GPS and got my first unit for Christmas. I was thrilled with it and installed the Mapsend Manager & DirectRoute on my home computer pretty effortlessly. Months go by, in the rain, and I don't touch the unit. Yesterday, I try to install the software on my work computer and I can't remember how to get MapSend Manager to identify my GPS unit. When I click on the User Profile I can edit my personal info, but not my Registered GPS Info. I've logged into Magellan's website, which does have my Serial Number on record, but that doesn't seem to help. Actually, I don't even really care if MapSend Manager knows my SN# or not, but it seems to be preventing me from running DirectRoute without this registration. Any help, please?
