  1. Looking for a Hawaii state coin to buy. I came across one once on a geocoin sale site but can't find it now
  2. Admittedly, when I first read your earlier post I was a little taken aback that someone wouldn't cache just because they didn't want a souvenir. After reading your last post I realized it is just how you chose to play the game. I don't feel you were whining or silly, actually eloquently stating your point. We all play the game in our own way. There are going to be players who skip over closer caches to get that FTF. There are people who are working on a streak that will go out to get a cache even if they don't want to. Others players will get the close cache on the way to the FTF and if we don't get the FTF so be it. Others are working on D/T's and will seek only those out. I don't get some of that play either. I don't do streaks as they seem like to much work and make make my fun hobby non fun. But i'm not going to judge the people who play differently than I do and call them silly. But I will say this...I'm sure it would be nice to have a choice to take them down, but there isn't so people need to work with the choices available. Whether it be not caching or ignoring the souvenirs that they don't like - those are the options. We have to work with what we have. I would have liked there to be souvenirs for certain events that took place, but there are not. People getting riled about things they can't change are counter-productive. Instead we have to work with what we have.
  3. I was actually pretty excited when I started to see challenge caches pop up. I enjoy them but choose ones that fit my style of caching. I can't be bothered with every day for x amount of days. I did 2 weeks in a row and that was enough for me. It wasn't fun when I 'had' to do it. But others such as municipalities is fun...gets me to places I wouldn't have gone and I can plug away in my own time frame. I think it enhances my game. And always look forward to a new challenge popping up to see if it change the game up for me.
  4. Sorry it took so long for me to reply back. Been busy and only now had the chance to check it out. Thanks so much for all the tips. I had the cable connected wrong. Thanks again!!!!!!
  5. I ordered the AC power adapter and USB cable as a package deal from Magellan a while ago. I have never used the software, but now that I am into Geocaching I thought I would set it all up. The USB will plug into my USB port and charge the GPS, so I'm thinking the cable is fine. The problem is when I go to do any transferring I cannot. My computer does not recognize that the USB is connected. It says that the USB has malfunctioned and to replace it. I run Windows XP. I noticed while installing the software that it had a USB install (and not sure if that is just for the charging of the unit). While installing, Windows didn't like it trying to install a modem. I uninstalled/reinstalled the software 3 times...each with the same problem. I am not sure if this caused a problem with the USB or not. I am wondering if others have had this problem?....And is it the cable?.....Or is it the installation gone wrong?
