  1. NEOGeo Spooky Halloween Social and Story-Swap (10/28/2003) N 41° 24.042 W 081° 37.558 (WGS84) Get together with the NEOGeos as we swap geocaching tales and dine. NEOGeocachers are getting together to swap geocaching stories (and probably some fun and games) with visitors from a far and strange land (California). We welcome our visitors and hope to have a fun time. We will exchange Travel Bugs for those who've got them, and who knows what's in the mystery cache. The event will start anytime after 5pm. If you plan on attending, please e-mail, or post a note here on the cache page stating how many will be attending (so that I know how large a table to reserve once I get there) Cache well, and see you Tuesday the 28th! 2. We are taking a caching trip to Cleveland from California at the end of October. If you're going to be around and would like to meet up - let's plan a casual event cache at a restaurant/bar one night. Email us for more details and to make arrangements. teamkiwi@fredford.com Team Kiwi Site
  3. WooHoo! We found it! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=52277 Thanks for all your help. Team Kiwi Site
  4. Unfortunately, we have lost the name of this cache and can't seem to find it on the map. We think it's in Arizona - we did a long road trip from Louisiana to Bakersfield, CA and this was on the second to last day. The photos show the cache can and log book and a big cactus nearby. If you know the name of this cache... please email teamkiwi@fredford.com. THANKS. Team Kiwi Site
  5. Team Kiwi looks set to attend Saturday. It's persisting down at the moment - luckily we won't be hydro-camping - good luck to those brave souls out for an muddy tenting adventure. Put Fred down for a portion of crawfish. None for Adrienne. We intend to arrive close to noon Saturday and leave once it's dark. Will someone post a cellphone number as a contact at camp? 6. As brand new cachers in LA we have been impressed with everything you guys have set out for us to find. We bought our first ammo can yesterday and plan to do something with it soon in Lafayette. It would be sensational to meet some of you if we can coordinate schedules. Fred is often offshore and I travel a fair bit so hopefully we can join your camping plans - how does February 8-9 sound? If not camping, could we just do an event cache for an afternoon somewhere? Adrienne Team Kiwi Site
  7. You may be interested in the first benchmark we set out to find - the description places it at the base of a tower recently destroyed by a hurricane. Photos in our log show the tower inside a house - splitting it in two. We stopped a local worker and asked where the guy wires were before the damage as they are descibed in the notes. Tower destroyed by Hurricane Lili All in all a very exciting first find! Team Kiwi Site [This message was edited by Team Kiwi on January 12, 2003 at 02:03 PM.]
  8. Something just as bad happened here in Lafayette, Louisiana recently. Unfortunately, a serial killer from Baton Rouge (an hour away) killed someone in my town of Lafayette so the police are all on high alert. A cacher wandering about 10 miles from where the victim was found was stopped by police and asked to explain himself - he was the right age and had the same kind of truck as the killer!
