  1. I think a more meaningful stat would be the average caches/day per actual days spent Geocaching.

I started Geocaching 1-1-03, so that’s 273 days as of today. As of today I’ve found 475 caches. This comes out to 1.74/cpd (caches per day)

Out of those 273 days, I went out caching on 91 of them. This comes out to 5.2/cpd.

Buttons on the front are generally much more intuitive anyway...

I wasn’t really complaining, I’m just looking for feedback. I thought I remember someone saying that the buttons on the top face of the unit makes it useable with one hand. Is this true? If so, this would be a good reason to choose one with this type of button arrangement.

This hasn't happened to me. It's possible that your PQ is corrupt. Did your try another one?

  4. I’ve been thinking about upgrading my GPSr because of the eTrex Legends 8 meg memory limitation and the small screen size, which makes using the MapSource maps difficult in a driving situation. I was leaning towards the Gamin 76 series, but was a little hesitant because of a few things.

    1. The maximum memory is 24 meg, which is still not enough (imo) and cannot be pared with external memory.

    2. I wasn’t too keen on the location of the function buttons on the top of the unit. To me this didn’t seem like logical placement, as usage would block the screen by your hands.

    3. I’ve read that the optimum position for satellite reception is in a vertical fashion.

Looking at these, supposedly new Garmins, I think I found my next GPSr (dependant on price of course). I would like to hear some feedback mainly about the button locations. What is the advantage of having them above or below the screen?

Are you sure you have the latest BETA release? I had this problem before the second release.

It's giving false virus alerts. While that doesn't fit my definition of "works quite well", if it's good enough for you, so be it.

Looks like I wasn't the only one that has had this problem.

Actually I find this anti-virus program works quite well. I would recommend it to anyone, and it’s free. I’ve paid for those other programs and wasted my money. Want to buy a copy of McAfee? I used to swear by it. The last few versions did nothing but give me headaches.

The problem was not the A-V program. For some reason the PQ’s were corrupt. The downloaded unzipped PQ’s only outputted one cache on one occasion, and ten on another. Theses PQ’s should have produced at least 250 caches. When the PQ’s were d/led in the zipped format they wouldn’t unzip using WinZip.

After waiting an hour or so, I created another custom PQ (same options/filters as before) and was successful.

Thanks Prime Suspect for your always helpful and accurate support.
