  1. Geocaching is getting pretty popular now. Maybe all us geocachers out in the woods will eradicate them one by one. When I pull one off of me, it gets torched.

In the past i've been on fishing trips to the Boundry Waters up in Minnesota. They have these gnats they call No-See-Ems, or somrthing like that. These things would bite you, usually around the back of the neck. The wound would itch like crazy. The more you scratch it the worst it got.

At least with a tick, their big enough to see so you can remove them before they dig in.

  5. I went to Sam's Club tonight and they had a hydration pack made by High Sierra for sale at $18.56.

    It holds 2-liter water bladder.

    Insulated tube cover.

    Zippered compartments with accessory pockets.

Mesh shoulder straps and padded back.

    Size: 18"x7.5"5x3.25" - 866 cubic inches.

I thought it was a good deal so I ended up buying one.

  6. When I bought my Legend I looked into buying the additional Mapsource software. For me I thought it was way to much money and not really needed. I've heard that they are way out of date anyway. The eTrex screen is too small for safe auto routing anyway. The basemaps have been very useful for me when finding my way around unfamiliar areas. Once your in the vicinity, I use the navigation screen to point the way.

In the past 4 months I have driven to areas where I would have been lost without a GPSr. I will never get lost now that I have this cool gizmo.

  7. Not sure which town along the Prairie Path you are near. If not too far, ride to the Fox River Trail which connects to the Prairie Path. If this is too far you can do what I did and put the bike in the car and drive to the trail. It has many caches along the trail. Last week I took my bike out there and found a few caches. Enjoyed the trails and the view of the river. Give it a try. Use Geocaching.com's search engine to find cache coordinates. Good Luck
