  1. RedGlobe hates these chasing around events…..how about a non competitive category added to your event????
  2. Geocachers do it in a straight line Geocachers do it outside in nature Geocachers do it when the muggles are not watching
  3. We are still interested; keep us in the loop….
  4. I agree with Anton on the existing caches. To get to most of the caches in the Groenkloof Nature Reserve, you need a Loooong hike or 4x4. There is a area on the northern side of the reserve that can cater for a few caches just for the day and have braai facilities if you want to arrange a event. Maybe some micros around the area of the braai to keep them happy and introducing them to geocaching? We will gladly help you.
  5. Hi Wazat We have a spare TB tag for you. My brother is coming up next week, and if you can provide him the attachment of the TB, we can get it to the starting line for you. Let me know….
  6. No…..we disagree with that tool for giving a 2 for difficulty on a very hard puzzle….just think about Fiddle sticks….(No Rhino you must keep the 3.5 Rating)
  7. Soe Sakkie....ek dink jy moet maar nog n beker koffie gaan drink.....
  8. Please spread the word of the CITO event GC1P4MC on the 02/05/2009 to the other cachers out there. This CITO event is only the 6th CITO event in South Africa’s history. We need each and every one to make this a success, together we can do more. Greetings from RedGlobe
  9. WOW Sakkie.......Ons is so trots dat die knope spat van n bree bors..... Die Tonteldoos series was n groot sukses... Baie dankie.....
  10. Hi CH Yes, you need to do some EC’s while you are in Gauteng…. Welcome back….maybe a cup of coffee???
  11. RedGlobe beaam dit dat ons bankvas sal staan AGTER Sakkie maar VER weg van die blackjacks af.......
  12. Just a idée: If teams completes collecting the rest of the clues we can have another event next year over Easter weekend and these teams then find the final cache? RedGlobe will be there again for moral support. But if a team wants to find the final in his/her own time they can still do it.
  13. Thanks for all the support and congratulations we received, but it was due to the impressive Tonteldoos cache series that we loved and enjoyed that we could not resist doing. Thanks to Urban Hunters and GerhardoosMPsa that provided us some fun on the last and final cache. May this Tonteldoos series be the start of more successful cache series in SA. Well done Tusk02 and Cincol.
  14. I wonder if it was not the same German and US cachers that logged one of my Earth Caches……the German logged a find on a date before the cache was listed, and when I removed his find he logged the same date on my other Earth Cache…..his log was again removed. He could not even answer the basic questions on the listing. It’s all about the numbers……
  15. The Gauteng CITO is on for the 2nd of May…..it will form part of the international annual CITO events that will be held the weekend of the 2nd or 3rd May. Maybe the other provinces can arrange the same time???
  16. Yes it would be nice working down that list; but the Gauteng ones are mostly the evil Donkasand puzzle caches……eina
  17. We are in the process of arranging accommodation in the small town Tonteldoos. We are currently speaking to someone who can help us with camping for a limited space for tents and he has “Wendy houses” that sleeps two persons (seven available). Contact detail: Sarel 013 254 0207 We are planning to camp the Friday and Saturday night 10-11/04/2009, leaving the Sunday morning.
  18. Most puzzle caches per cacher? Most Multi caches per cacher? Most Regular caches per cacher? Most event caches per cacher? (Who is the party animal?) The Earth Cache stats were mentioned before.
  19. Thanks for all the congratulations on this forum, especially all the Tontedoos owners for taking us across the whole of South Africa and visiting all the SA history places. Now RedGlobe is ready for the final event……and the GOLD.
  20. My apologies to every one for my previous posting on this treat. I had a blank moment (it happens regularly lately). The agreement is that the FTF prize is provided by Tusk 0’2 for the team that has personally collected all the clues in South Africa and solves the puzzle in time, and be the first to find the final cache. (The idée is that the team must earn the prize for his hard work). Teams that have collaborated to collect the clues can still find the final Tontel after the FTF prize has been claimed. Please accept my apologies.
  21. I am one of those cachers who collected the clues by visiting all the caches in the series, and hopefully can get the last clue this weekend. My understanding is that you may collaborate with other cachers to collect all the clues, and I do not mind if there is more teams during the event for the FTF competition.
  22. With all the planning of different events i.e.; Gorge hike, Tshwane Braai, Tshwane CITO and the Tontedoos event, I would like to propose dates on this forum for comments; RedGlobe out of town – 14/03/2009 (slag van bloed rivier) Tshwane Braai – 21/03/2009??? Gorge hike III – 28/03/2009??? Tonteldoos event – 11/04/2009 (set date) Tshwane CITO – 25/04/2009??? Greetings RedGlobe
  23. Yes RedGlobe is interested and hope the timing is not a problem.
  24. Part of my discussions with the Environmental Management for the City of Tshwane is to arrange a CITO in one of there parks to show our appreciation for allowing geo-caching to continue and in a more responsible manner with proper permission. We are planning a braai event (in March) to introduce them to the rest of the geocaching community and then the CITO in a park that they will nominate in April.
  25. Thanks Fish Eagle for the assistance, we will try and find a solution that will not add too much of a burden on you, before a cache can be listed on the Geocaching web site. We, the geo-cachers must take the responsibility for the approval before we submit a cache for listing. On the end of the day it is us that tick the box that our cache has adequate permission. Fish Eagle; enjoy your holiday and hopefully by the time you are back we will have a process that can work for every one.
