  1. I was having the same issue with my etrex. (oldie but goody) after I updated my browser to chrome. Express wasn't working either, so I use the basic explorer when downloading directly into my gps from the site. Works great.
  2. Over time I've seen: coral snakes, cotton mouths, black widow spiders, deer, skunk, raccoons, coyote, grass snakes, 1 tortoise, armadillos, bugs (I don't know what kind, but lots of them), all types of interesting birds, and rabbits and squirrels galore. Happily I've avoided ticks. I'm not sure which was the most dangerous but the most annoying is the agressive mosquito.
  3. The latest tree is a live pine tree with a gaping 1" diameter 1.5" deep hole. The tree is putting out a bunch of sap to heal bandage itself. If it was a stump or dead tree I wouldn't have mentioned it. (being informative and answering the question, not being arguementative)
  4. The person to find it gets the FTF. If they have a geobuddy then the buddy gets a co-FTF. Anyone else gets a find. (even in a large group) If you don't feel right about someone signing your name as an FTF then you do not have to claim it. It's all up to you, take the find and hit the trails for the next one. Games should never stress you out. Happy Trails!
  5. I've recently noticed a bunch of new caches coming out that are hidden in a devious way. I don't mind the "devious" part but I do mind that there are trees being drilled into for the sake of hiding a bison tube or soda tube inside the hole. Doing this damages and stresses the trees and leaves them susceptible to critters/insects and disease. Please don't damage the trees! I've seen some really great and clever hides that are tree friendly so I know it can be done. Thanks!
  6. Personally, I'm at 65 with 1 hide. I'm having too much fun to think about whether someone else thinks I'm a noob or not. Go with it, keep stacking up those smileys and have a great time!
