I would need to app to connect directly with Geocaching.com in order to be interested. The part of geocaching that I would like to skip--let me phrase that differently. The part of geocaching that I would like to ENHANCE is its spontaneity. If I can easily see what caches are near me on the fly, then I would be very interested. Otherwise I can just carry my gps with me.

Apparently it IS being used in real life. Hence the news segment.

You can try the Google Maps app. It's free, but I don't know if it will take coordinates. I'd try it out for you but I'm not on a data plan; I only use it to check traffic when in a bind, or when I'm lost. EDIT: I run this on my Treo 650, so I have internet access. I don't know about PDAs with no cell phone capability.

Yes, it is included.

Boot Camp can currently be downloaded by Leopard users only.

GPS and MAC- which work together simply?
T F T C replied to Monkey Junky's topic in GPS technology and devices
d'oh, you're right, I'm sorry. No, I don't load maps or anything. I think MacGPSPro might do this, but I haven't tried it out. Let me know if you find anything that works! -
GPS and MAC- which work together simply?
T F T C replied to Monkey Junky's topic in GPS technology and devices
Well, explaining that process is the purpose of the website. But in a nutshell, I currently use GeoJournal to not only get waypoints into my eXplorist, but to keep track of my found caches, keep a journal of my finds with photos, and plan cache runs with the itinerary function. Before GJ I used GPSBabel, which is free. The majority of my site is still "how to use GPSBabel with your Mac."
