  1. I had a 550T for about a week. I liked the screen size, touchscreen, camera, and topo maps. I had a very hard time reading it in certain conditions. Direct sunlight was fine but it was too dim when under the canopy of a forest. I sent it back and got a 62S instead. Yes the 62S has no touchscreen, camera, topo maps and a smaller screen. Brightness in any conditions made up for that for me. And there is plenty of free topos out there just as good (many better)as Garmin's.
  2. I'd watch Cabelas daily. They seem to change their prices frequently. Last week they had the 62S for $349 and right next to it was the 62S bundle with topos for $269. The 62S will be back on sale again soon I would think.
  3. f you use Base Camp just right click on the cache name and delete it. You need to do it one by one I believe.
  4. That is exactly what I said in my initial post. The point I was making is that a $10 app on your phone (most everyone has a smart phone these days and I did buy the app)gets you access to more information than in buying a couple hundred dollar GPS ( I have a 62S) and a premium membership cost. Granted cell phone battery life is generally poor and reception can be spotty. I'll become a premium member soon too, I wasn't knocking it. Just pointing out that for less expense in an app you can get more info which I seem to find backwards is all.
  5. Yes, I tend to use both also depending on the cache and phone coverage. Phone batteries just don't last as good as a GPS does.
  6. The paid app allows you to see caches (except premium ones unless you are a premium member)and get all logs, hints, descriptions, etc. What I find odd is that a $10 app gets you all the hints, descriptions, logs, etc. If you have a GPSr (that you likely paid a few hundred dollars for), you need to be a premium member to see the descriptions, hints, logs, etc. Kind of seems backwards to me.
