  1. Hi. I finally got a trade account at geocoin collection.com. I can't find the bushwacking pirate coins, are they under a different name? Thanks. buddyluv4
  2. Being still "new" to the whole coin thing....why do so many hate Ebay so much? I also quilt and often buy fabric on Ebay that I can't get anywhere locally, so I'm willing to pay the price. As far as selling on ebay before it goes on sale through the forums or coin shop.... I hear all the time that the people that shop on ebay don't necessarily shop the forums/coin shop so it is really targeting a different market, isn't it? Although I think if I was going to sell my coins on ebay and a coin shop was going to be selling them also, I'd wait to post them until the coin shop did, just to keep things fair. We all know what a coin generally goes for, and if it's going for more than that on ebay it's up to the individual to do the research, which is just common sense for shopping for anything. You do need to beware though. I've seen my silly boys on ebay listed as "sold out", which the purple are not. Curious where they get there info, not from me. Great topic!
  3. Can I get a quick point of clarity? Will the remade LEs with the proper finish have the same tracking number as the first ones we get? Reason I care is, I've seen at least one LE on Ebay so far, and I'd hate to split the pair with someone else and have Dup. tracking codes. I don't have my package yet, so maybe that's all spelled out in there. TMA The tracking number is on the scabbard. Got my silver AE's today. I'll start looking at all the trade offers, but it's going to take me a few days to get through them. Thanks everyone. buddyluv4
  4. Trades sound kewl. What metals/colors/qtys are your AEs? So far I have copper w/black and antique silver with remix blue. I think I will be getting more because of the reorder, but haven't made a choice on those yet. Thanks.
  5. Hey all, things are been very busy here this week. If you sent me an e-mail for a trade I will get back to you one way or another when my coins arrive (not sure when). At this point I'm not sure who I've responded to and who I haven't. Sorry. But I have saved all the e-mails. I just don't feel like I can really think seriously about trades until I have them in hand and know what I have. Then I will go through them one at a time. Of course I am mostly interested in AE for AE. Thanks all. Jolanda of team buddyluv4
  6. yes, it would have a different icon. I haven't thought of a catchy name for it yet. It would most likely be a cammo ammo can in blue or green. I'll have to see what is out there. So far, there hasn't been enough response to make them, but we will see in a couple of weeks. Thanks.
  7. Thanks everyone. Special THANKS to Sharon and Hogwild for sticking in there when others said it couldn't be done! Jamie at Madhatter and I must be on the same brain wave length. When it comes to my artwork, it always comes out just as I invisioned (and just a bit better!). Now how will I top this project? Happy caching. buddyluv4
  8. Not sure how many "sets" there were, but if people ordered 3 at a time it wouldn't take long. Can't wait to get my AE's in hand. Thanks all.
  9. OK, so now that the "Bushwacking Pirates" coin is done I feel like I can look at some of my other ideas I've had. I'd like to gauge interest on the companion to my "silly boys" coin. All along I planned to make one for the girls and then one for the boys. It would be the same coin but be in green camo and blue camo and say something like "Boys hunt for cache....girls just spend it". I've seen several coins come out in different versions but done in cammo. slowdownracer came up with the wording. Well....any interest, or too many cammo cans out there now? Thanks for your constructive input. Cheers, buddyluv4 p.s. Glad so many of you like the "Bushwacking Pirates" coin.
  10. Wondering if there's any update? I know it's getting closer. Keep checking back. Glad you them! Oops, glad you LIKE them.
  11. Wondering if there's any update? I know it's getting closer. Keep checking back. Glad you them!
  12. Hi all, glad you like the coin! It's been a long time in the making, but they came out wonderful. I will have some artists editions to trade when they are back from the minters. What site do most of you use for listing your trades? I often look at the geocoin collecting site, and it seems well organized and easy to use. I also have some pink silly boys for trade only and some purple silly boys for sale or trade. I'm looking forward to making some trades. buddyluv4
  13. Adding my 2 cents to keep this at the top of the q. I haven't been able to get out caching for some time, but we are planning a long weekend at the beach. Bummer, I loved to use the mapping to find the caches I want. Some suggestions here on how to work around it have been helpful and we should be able to do that tonight. Good thing I didn't wait until Thursday morning to load my caches! This obviously is a problem. Everything was fine before the switch. Thanks.
  14. Try contacting your local admin. and let them know the situation. I think every area has that problem. I try and look at recent posts before I go out hunting, so I can avoid searching for something that doesn't exist. Otherwise I try not to worry about it. Eventually they will get archived.
  15. Maybe if it's been there so long you have absolutely no idea where it is. "Find" implies you didn't know where it was before you began looking.
  16. There were a bunch coordinated several months back. They were all at the same time. Everett, WA Flash Mob Gone Nuts I think the name was.
  17. So my question is this, is it ok to take personal swag when logging a cache? I've never been clear if all those wooden nickels have been left for the cache owner or for future finders. I recently saw a shop99er homemade personal swag item and wanted to take it, but wasn't sure. What's the "rule"? I did just take a homemade swag item from a cache that had recently been visited by the cache owner and they had left the small swag stone with the geoname and date on it in the cache and I figured if they didn't want it I would love to add it to my collection of "cool" things found in caches, I of course left appropriate swag in it's place. So.....what do you all think? Thanks.
  18. Can't you copy it and attach a dogtag to it. I saw a coin(copy) that someone didn't want to release. They had blown up the image of the coin (It was big, like at least 4" across). They had put the photocopy of the coin between two fairly thick (maybe 1/4") pieces of maybe plexiglass or something like that. Why couldn't you do that and attach a dog tag (tracking tag you can buy individually) or to make the coin less valuable for coin thiefs drill a hole in it and attach the tag with that plastic coated twisted wire that you can crimp together. Does this make any sense? Anyway, just ideas.
  19. OK, I'm still fairly new to caching (1 year/160+ finds). I'm getting a bit frustrated with my own released coins and I only have six out there! One floated away with the cache when the river where the cache was located flooded, another has apparently gone missing (a chacher was nice enough to post they had visited the cache where it was supposed to be to "discover it", but it is not there) and a third has been in the hands of the same person for over a month. Not very good odds. Yes I know, I can e-mail the person who has it, and try and tactfully ask them to move it along (which I will do shortly if they don't move it). OK, now that my whining is out of the way....I really want to release more coins. I read recently about ideas for etching on the side of the coin (not sure how I will do this?) and also drilling a hole in the coin and attaching the sheet about what the coin is and that it needs to be moved along. I'd love to release more, but if my odds don't improve, it's going to get to expensive, I'll have to stop. Anyone tried these ideas and think they work any better?
  20. Sign me up for two sets. Thanks. I love the LE wish the BN was something other than white. Just my two cents though.
  21. I'd like to see something more on it like you mentioned with the sticks and the ammo can. Also why not a border around the coin and you could mix it up with some metal details? Lot's of possibilities here I definately like the saying but wouldn't add the "don't be a..." not that I can't handle implied profanity, but sometimes less can be more. Makes it a bit more tongue 'n cheek. This one can be soooo fun. Can't wait to see what you come with.
  22. It's not so much that I mind the delay, with GW5 and all. But they didn't delay deducting the club fee from my account. I kept meaning to contact them, thinking it had been shipped and I didn't receive it, but now I know to just sit tight. Would love to see the artwork.
