  1. Seems to load more slowly. Also, I like to be able to click on the pocket query tab to quickly get the query mapped. Doesn't seem to be available in the new version. The toggle between the old and new versions doesn't seem to be working for me. Using Firefox on Windows 10.
  2. I have 2 caches that qualify in Scotland. GCDD6C is my first cache placed 2nd March 2003. It has its original plastic container, but now placed inside another one. I also adopted GC2BD4 which was placed 9th December 2001, and which coincidentally was my first find! Another plastic one.
  3. Rarely in my long time geocaching have I felt the need to post in the forums, but the maps are just not working. Some of the alternative maps can be nearly as good as google, but they need to work properly in the geocaching site. I don't even have a checkerboard effect - I just have a complete grey background filling the whole screen, and the cache icons either don't load at all or don't resize correctly when zooming in. There are also whole areas of the world where there is no mapquest aerial views. Not good when I am planning a visit to one of those areas - I now have to keep switching to another non-geocaching screen to see the google satellite view. The new maps are also pretty rubbish at having street names on them. At least fix the loading of these maps even if you can't change them!
  4. I had forwarded the event info to a cacher / coin collector in the Netherlands who flagged up that there was a Geocaching Multi Event 2007 in Naarden, Netherlands, in April this year (with another likely to follow next year). I have been adding the banner to some of my travel bugs which might get a better world circulation than caches and profiles.
  5. Will try to make it down from Edinburgh depending on when it is. Would probably stay with our daughter in Manchester, but Harrogate is not so far from there. Anyone creative enough to make a geocoin to commemorate the event?
  6. I would recommend Three Shires Head. I havn't done it, but visited here for picnics many times as a boy! Leave the family visiting Jodrell view while you do the cache with the dogs! Nice little walk from the minor road to the south of Lyme Boss Challenge, although may be a bit far. I always fancied Shutlingsloe (Cheshire), but never made it yet. The Goyt valley (eg Woodland walk (Goyt valley) always used to be a nice area (not visited recently). From memory Off the Railes, is located along one of several disused railway lines in the area, which are quite popular. Have a good time!
  7. Co-ords now corrected on my one. Thanks HH! Going dyslexic these days.
  8. I have had another think and have now placed GC120QB 1.1 miles (1.8km) from Crag & Tail. Enjoy!
  9. I have managed to obtain a large container - 28cm diameter, and 40cm deep which I think must count as a "Large" cache (=25L). I am going to place it 4.8 miles from Crag & Tail as a part of the new caches I am placing around Juniper Green for the CITO event on 14th April. However, having re-read the rules I now realise that it is Km not miles that is required. When will we convert you Robert?
  10. Thanks for the email, as you are correct that I dont normally look at the forums! An interesting challenge. I spent ages before Xmas trying to find somewhere in the centre to put a regular cache to use as a TB hotel, but couldnt find anywhere that I thought would not pose a security threat. I gave up in the end, but will have to think again now. On the subject of Geocoins, I have acquired all the remaining stocks of the 4th cache bash coins, so if anyone wants one then let me know.
  11. Thanks for the special mention! Although I have not got around to activating them yet, I have lots more shiny things for people to see (and log). Its a bit early to finally commit, but I have it in my diary, so I am a provisional attendee. Will confirm nearer the time.
  12. Has anyone got any of the following for sale? Selective Availability (any colour) Colorado Dutch German (with flag icon) Ohio Alabama Midwest geobash New Jersey Tennessee (not the micro one) New York Absolute I would take activated ones as well if they are transferred to me. I have some spare Scottish to trade.
  13. Can you get the first minting to get the new icon as well?

  15. If this is pre-ordering, then 2 of each for me as well please.
  16. I have created a night cache based on colours of lights, and other things that you can only see at night. See GCHBH0. Have fun!
  17. Night caches dont have to be scary, or need a torch for them. Please see the one I have just created = GCHBHO. So if you are coming to Scotland.....
