I have noticed that an update has been deployed which should improve browser compatibility. So if you had problems with the logging form not loading correctly, this might work now.
I just tested it, and I can indeed create and edit logs again.
Thanks for the post!

I have the same problem on the website. In my case it's because my computer and browser are old, and a recent gc.com update made it incompatible with older versions of Firefox. To create or edit logs I have to use a borrowed smartphone. The phone is also kind of old, and the geocaching app won't work on it, but using its default browser I can write logs. It's not at all convenient, but at least it works.
If you specify what versions of Firefox and Chrome you're using, maybe someone can tell you if that's the problem for you as well. -
Same here, using an old version of Firefox on an old iMac. As a temporary workaround, click on the trackables link and then edit the resulting URL, changing "hide" to "track".

If you can upgrade to macOS 10.12, I would give it a try.
Firefox 115 ESR supports this version of macOS and is still receiving security updates. See the introduction in the release notes:
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/115.0/releasenotes/I think Firefox 115 should be recent enough to work with the new logging flow.
Thanks for the info. I might try that, if gc.com doesn't fix the problem. For now, I've found that I can log caches using a borrowed smartphone, so at least I have a workaround.

Is it possible to try a different or more modern browser, as suggested by Bl4ckH4wkGER?
I'm not sure. Based on what I've found online, I think I could upgrade my operating system to 10.12 but nothing beyond that. But I haven't determined what version of Firefox (or some other browser) that would let me run, and I don't know what version is required for the new logging flow. I'm reluctant to take the time and risks of upgrading unless I'm pretty sure it would solve the problem.

Does anyone know what the system requirements are for the new logging flow? I have an old computer, running Mac OS X 10.11 and Firefox version 78.15.0esr (64-bit), and when I try to log anything I get a blank window. If I knew what version of Firefox the new logging flow requires then maybe I could check to see if my hardware is capable of running it.

You can use the old log-page by using this link: https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?wp=GC12345
Replace GC12345 wit the waypoint-name
Thanks, but that doesn't work for me either. It fails in the same way as I described earlier.

I just tried to log a cache, and it didn't work. As soon as I clicked on "Log geocache" from the cache page, the form to create a log appeared in my browser, but it disappeared in a fraction of a second, replaced by a blank window. I've tried this several times on both caches and trackables, with the same result. If I press the escape key as soon as the form appears, I can sometimes prevent the blank window, but the form doesn't work: Clicking the arrow for selecting the log type doesn't show the menu of options.
I'm using Firefox version 78.15.0esr (64-bit) under Mac OS X 10.11.

This may or may not be by design - I honestly can't remember. But, if intentional, it's helpful from a Reviewer perspective. Prior to publication, I will ask questions and request the cache owner to post a new Reviewer Note. A surprising number of cache owners (especially new hiders) will miss that instruction, and simply edit their prior Reviewer Note to answer my question. Since there was no new log to trigger a watchlist notification, I have no idea that they've answered my questions, and the review process is delayed.
That's a reason to disallow editing a Reviewer Note after submitting the cache. But surely the CO should be able to edit it before then.

Try finding and logging a geocache and see if the souvenir suddenly appears. During August's wheel of challenges, I found an event, a traditional and an AL location (in that order). No easy level souvenir. But as soon as I logged another cache, the souvenir appeared. It could be that the souvenir update check only happens when a cache is logged through the website.
2 hours ago, The Haywood Hornet said:The souvenir system seems to only pick up AL finds, after you find a non AL cache. I finished the August challenge with an AL cache but it was another 2 days before I got the souvenir and only after I had been caching again and logged another non AL cache.
Thanks for the advice. If the problem happens again I'll give that a try.

I've received the souvenir, just about 2 hours after contacting the gc.com Help Center. That was quick! The reply said "Sometimes our souvenirs get a bit tangled up. I have now applied the souvenir that you requested to your account.".

I think they messed up. The blog gave a choice of two dates but the email only said August 19th.
I would contact them for your souvenir.
From the email:
International Geocaching Day is coming up soon! Log any geocache, Adventure Lab® Location, or Event on August 19 to earn the International Geocaching Day 2023 souvenir.
Thanks. I'll try contacting them.

It appears that the website uses different time zones in different parts of the site. I mentioned what happened to a friend yesterday, and he sent a picture of the Leaderboard showing today's date for my find. But when I go to the Geocaches tab of my profile and click on "Lab Cache" I see a list of all the Adventure Labs that I've logged, and it shows yesterday's date for the same find.

I haven't received the International Geocaching Day 2023 souvenir. According to this blog post, to get it I needed to log any geocache, Adventure Lab® Location, or Event on August 19 or August 20. I logged an Adventure Lab yesterday, and the website shows that I did (and it has the right date, 8/20).
Has anyone else had the same problem?

There absolutely should be one, but this cool script counts for you, including ALs https://project-gc.com/Challenges//76697
How do you find scripts like that? When I go to project-gc's search page for challenge checkers https://project-gc.com/Tools/Challenges, I only see checkers for challenge caches, not for things like the Wheel of Challenges.

Go to the Statistics tab, then there are three categories: Basic, Maps, and Milestones. Click Milestones and you'll see it. I thnk - I am premium and I don't know if basic members can see and/or adjust milestones.
Thanks. It appears to be a PM feature; I can't see my own statistics, or control anything about them.

You can edit the milestone cache to be whatever you want it to be (in your case, your actual 17000) and lock it in. On your profile, under the Action column, click the pencil icon and you'll be able to choose the actual cache you want to show as your miletone cache. Then lock it in!
I don't see an Action column on my profile page. The columns I see are About, Geocaches, Trackables, Souvenirs, Gallery, Lists, and Statistics. Is the Action column for premium members only, or am I looking in the wrong place?

For anyone who wants to retrieve the text (not the photos) of their benchmark logs and see others' logs for a particular mark, you can use Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.
The benchmarking home page (as of December 30, 2022) is available here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20221230041305/https://www.geocaching.com/mark/
The postal code search doesn't work, but the PID search does, at least for all PIDs I have tried.
Thank you for posting this and the other links. I had already saved all of my own logs and pictures, but it's nice to know that at least some of the data from other people is still available.

After many hours of tedious work, I managed to save all of my benchmark logs and pictures. But I only had 289 logs and about 700 pictures. I feel sorry for the people who have hundreds or thousands more than that, who haven't had time to save them before November 1, or who felt that it wasn't worth the effort.
And then there are all the people who don't follow the forums, who may not even realize that their logs and pictures are going to disappear. This decision should at least have been announced in an email to everyone who ever logged a benchmark.

You and all others who feels strongly about their benchmark logs and photos have some time to save them for yourself.
Can you be more specific about how much time we have? Saying "Sometime after November 1, 2022 and before the end of the year" isn't very helpful.
Saving just the logs won't take too long. I can open each one in my browser and save it as an HTML file. But the photos are more of a problem. I have to click on the smallest version at the bottom of a log to make it show up as a medium sized version, then click on that to get the large version, and then save that to a JPG file. If I knew that the photos weren't going to be deleted, I could skip that. Each HTML file contains the URLs of the associated photos, so I can still view them (for now) by opening the file.
So will you please let us know if the photos going to be removed?

I can handle you are going to kick us off to stupid Waymarking, but to lose those old logs is a huge disservice to all of us who spent so many hours on those logs and enjoy going back to see them again.
I agree with that completely. Losing the ability to log benchmarks makes me sad, but having all of my logs disappear makes me angry!
Geocaching HQ, please reconsider this decision. Or at least guarantee that the change won't happen so soon. If our logs are going to disappear from the site, then I want to save mine offline. That's a time-consuming process, and the 2 weeks between now and November 1 may not be enough.

Incidentally this is a common problem - in that every time Groundspeak release a new feature, time zone handling is incorrect, at least it is for those of us that live this close to the dateline.
It's not just a problem near the dateline. I'm in the same timezone as geocaching.com's headquarters, UTC-7. Yesterday evening, well before midnight, I logged an Adventure Lab cache and obtained a souvenir, but both are shown with today's date. I also logged 2 ordinary caches, which correctly showed yesterday's date.

I have a similar problem. Yesterday afternoon I logged a cache, which gave me the "International Geocaching Day 2022" souvenir. The website correctly shows that I got it on August 20. A few minutes later I logged another cache, which gave me the "Signal’s Labyrinth: The cave" souvenir, but the date for it is August 21.
I'm in the Pacific time zone, UTC-7. So are both of the caches that I logged.
