  1. You might want to download the tracks to see where they might lead
  2. Can you give us some rough coordinates for the general area where the event will be held? Not being from that area, North Carolina State Fairgrounds does not mean a lot to me. If not coordinates, can you tell me a direction from town, example: North, South, East or West of the downtown. Thanks and congratulations.

I have enjoyed the Trailmixes that Deermark has put on so much, I decided to have one down in kentucky in November. Everyone in the great state of Indiana are invited to come down and hike with us. Here's the GC: GCXJVY And here is the link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...d1-516741bdf117
  4. This category is for all U.S. Civil War sites that are marked in some way by sign or plaque but are not part of the Civil War Discovery Trail or have a National Historical Marker. There are 100's of these sites through out the East and South. Help get this category approved so we can mark these unique site so others can discover them. Vote here: http://www.Waymarking.com/groups/peer_review.aspx?f=-1
  5. I think you have to be very careful to identify clearly what qualifies for inclusion in your category. Also, be sure your category name and description make it clear that it is for the U.S. Civil War, as many other countries have had civil wars. OK, I have changed it to say U.S. Civil War. For right now I am just setting up the group. The group will discuss how this catagory will be worded. I do plan to leave it pretty broad, but will require that there be some kind of sign or marker telling about the site.
  6. The Lexington Tool Cache is a classic, I have not done it yet but all who do never stop talking about it. You will have to check out www.geocky.org for the local caching group.
  7. This group has been set up to start a new catagory for U.S. Civil War sites that are not included in the Civil War Discovery Trail or do not have a Historical Marker that is associated with it. There are 100's of sites all over the south that fall under this catagory. If you enjoy researching these sites or like Civil War history I ask that you join the group so we can get this catagory started. Check out the group here: http://www.Waymarking.com/groups/details.a...46-3b5334a6066d
  8. I have changed this group to Civil War History. See new group under that name for info
  9. I need group members to start a group of Morgan's Raiders waymarks. Most of these are located in TN, KY, IN and OH. If you are from these states or have an interest in Civil War History I would love to have you in the group. Here's the group: http://www.Waymarking.com/groups/details.a...46-3b5334a6066d
  10. Ok, I found the guidlines and I have started a group to manage it. The group is Morgan's Raiders and it will highlight waymarks on the Morgan Raiders trail. If you are interested in joining, send me a PM and tell me why you are interested in this group. I will review the PM's and send you an invite.
  11. All good points and I would be interested in Leading the category. Since this is the Getting Started section and I am not that knowleadgable about the process of submiting a catagory, Could someone give me a brief discription on how to propose a new catagory or a link to a thread that might discribe how to.
  12. Sounds good to me. If that category is approved I will be adding at least 14 Morgan Raiders waymarks to it. Bring it on.. I will even volunteer to be one of the people who watch over the category.
  13. Good idea, but not all of these have Historic Markers. They have a sign discribing what event happen at that perticular place. What do you think about these having there own category. There are at least 20 or 30 of these sign marked places in Kentucky and 23 of them in Indiana and I beleive a few in Ohio as well. Just a thought...
  14. I currently have a Morgan's Raid series of caches in Kentucky. Because it is just too hard to maintain a logbook at these locations I will be closing them down soon. I would like to place them on Waymarking, but I just got rejected on one I tryed to place on the Civil War Discovery Trail. Help me place this series in the right group. To see an example, look at this cache: GCKMZC
  15. Most of the folks in Kentucky do not watch this forum much, you might want to try the Geocky forums at www.Geocky.org . I myself would be interested in attending an event in this area. This is a great area to get out an explore, throw in a few geocaches and you have the complete package.
  16. Center on this cache GCQ49K and you will find a good number of caches within a short walk of one parking lot not too far from the downtown area (Its kind of is a Geo-park). Also try doing any caches by "Show Me The Cache"
  17. This sounds like a great idea; I would suggest that you open up a new thread on this in the Organized Geocaching section of the forum under a new topic for discussion. I for one would love to see what might come of this type discussion.
  18. $1500 US for two round trip tickets and an 11 hour flight from Dallas to London. Way out of my range. Who is that with gold plated airlines ?? most expensive ive found so far is $1093 cheapest $336 and that was with my usual flight search site.. I have been to all 4 geowoodstocks . I lived in Northfolk for 4 years and would love to visit again but probably could not afford a trip to the UK, but that is not the point here. If you have an organization that is interested and you have a member who has attended at least one Geowoodstock you should request the information through JoGPS's e-mail and see what the requirement are. Everyone who puts in a request should be welcome to apply. Good luck to all who apply. You will have large shoes to fill.
  19. Crap, I was hoping you were onto something. Didn't work. For a simple way to convert try downloading EasyMPS from this site: http://www.iancowley.co.uk/caching/
  20. If it has a tracking number on it then log it in by using the track Travel Bug section on the left of the geocaching.com opening screen. Then follow what the owner of the coin wants you to do.
  21. It seams that there are good event caches and bad event caches and so is it with regular caches that are approved through GC.com. I just got back from GW4 a "Maga Cache" and there was 4 event caches that I did, after doing those caches the Event folks requested that no event caches be logged on the event page which is their right, but it leaves me with a dilemma, How do I log the 4 caches that I spent considerable time looking for. The answer is I don't. We already have the means to log event caches by using the I attended button more than once, but this is confusing and to simply add a Found event cache button would be a lot better way to show your effort. As far as making them permanent caches, in our area, the parks where you have events at are starting to get a little overly cache saturated and a temp cache is a way that a group can go out and have FUN finding caches and that is what this is suppose to be about, FUN

This may not be the right section, but does anyone know when and where the next InKy Event is?
