  1. Not sure if you know this or not, but you can highlight all your bugs and coins in your drop down box that you want in an event and drop them all at once. The problem is, you have to log them out one at a time.
  2. I would like to see: Offset Cache This would be a simple two part cache to put in places where it is not practical for a single cache and it would set it apart from the normal multi which are for the most part filtered out when people are traveling.
  3. I have a Honda Fit with the same navi. From what I observed so far, the only way is to use the pan button to move to where you want to go then you will get an address that the navi will ask you if you want to navigate there. You can also request by voice your current position (not sure at this time if in this option you might be able to enter a cord)
  4. Oddly enough, The restaurant was hit in waves of cachers as some of the Slow and Steady cachers were a little slower getting out of the woods and there was also a buffet bar.
  5. I liked it but one thing that would be good to add in more shows would be all the interesting people you meet. I can envision a show that goes to the biggest event in the world geowoodstock. It would make it easier to explain what and why we geocache to others.
  6. I had a sticker on the back of my car that had the geocaching logo on in with geocaching.com on the bottom and my geo name on the top. I have bought a new car and now need a new one. I have lost the web site where I got it and need it again to get one ordered. Can someone please post it here.
  7. I did the same thing and it takes about 6 weeks and today I got an e-mail that said it is on its way via UPS. Can't wait to get it so I can cancel the discover card.
  8. Actually Suzuki made it for Chevrolet.
  9. Geocaching on a local level down the I 65 corridor from Louisville to Bowling Green http://heartlandcachers.tripod.com/
  10. No different than Amazon, and Amazon will ship for free. So not such a great deal. THANKS! That's why so many folks belong to "GS". The help and information found here is unbelieveable. I did check Amazon and they had a better price! I would rather purchase from Amazon anyway, as I have always had a positive experience with them. Thanks friends! They WILL charge you sales tax at amazon, but I still would go with a sure thing.
  11. Below is a mapsource image of my 60csx with the older $89 topo loaded. It is the intersection of the AT and the Boulevard trail. The AT is in the bottom right corner. I have found while going up the Alum Cave trail that the dotted line can be off by several 100 feet sometimes, but for the most part it gives you a good idea as to what is ahead of you. I loaded the segments I use most the time on the 128meg card that came with the unit and I bought a 2 gig card to load in City Navigator with the road maps of all 50 states and a good part of Canada.
  12. Yes, It will only update the firmware in your GPS. Most updates are not that noticeable, but you want the latest before you start loading in all your waypoints and caches.
  13. I have done a few of Cav Scout's EC and found them very enjoyable. I hope that this ban will not stand and hope he is reinstated soon. May I suggest to Cav Scout that if you are reinstated, that you might want to take a some what slower pace at setting up your EC's, this would help to reduce errors and also the work load of Geoaware. Geoaware's workload for the state of Kentucky is now probably half what it once was. Come on Geoaware give the guy a break and he will give you one. Thanks Cav Scout and Geoaware for all the hard work you both do.
  14. I have a Earthcache very close to the welcome center that is educational. You must go to two spots to finish the cache. You can hike between the two point or drive to both of them. GCNEJP I also have a nice virtual as you come into the park where you hike 1/2 mile on an elevated walkway. GCKN1G Have a great trip.
  15. I only have a few coins and wish to keep it that way, I have a couple of coins that I have won at events that I have activated. I would like to put them in a cache and be able to transfer ownership of them to someone else. Help!
  16. I know that we will know this year at the event who and where GW7 will be, but I was wondering if any one knows who might have put in a bit to host in 2009.?????
  17. Where will the night cache be?
  18. One real reason would be.......... IT'S------A------- GAME! It is suppose to be fun. I have worked my butt off finding 20 HARD event caches and if I choose to log them multiple times on an event, it should be no deferent than someone getting in their car and logging 20 light pole caches in a row. The numbers should not mater, but our Kentucky state park folks have put out some of the hardest event caches that I have ever found and most of the parks are out away from large concentrations of caches and the only way they can get cachers to travel that far is to allow multi-logging.
  19. I have had no problem taking it with me in my carry on. I will turn it on occasionally to get a fix on where we are. Southwest has not had a problem with me doing this, but I was told to turn off my GPS and put it back in my carry on when I was traveling on Frontier. Some airlines do not understand that a GPS is only a receiver and does not put out a signal of it's own that would interfere with the aircrafts electronics.
  20. You can only use your detailed maps in one GPS. If it is loaded in your 60CSX it will only work in that unit unless you get a new unlock code. Sometimes Garmin may give you a second code if you ask for it (They did for me for my City Select 6). The way you can test if this is your problem is to plug your 60csx into your laptop and see if the maps work. If they do then in order to use the detailed maps with your GPS18 you will need the new unlock code. Good luck
  21. It will not get as GOOD of a reception as the 60 series. I disagree! Since I got my Vista HCx, I have never lost satellites and I really prefer the smaller size of that GPS unit compared to the 60 series. I also prefer the buttons on the Legend HCx/Vista HCx and the click stick for navigation, compared to all the buttons on the 60 Series. Sometimes you can get great things for a lower price. Well it looks as if the patch antenna has improved since my old Blue Legend but after talking to a few people who own a Vista HCX they still have that bad problem with the rubber getting over sized when they get hot and coming lose. It's just a mater of cost and preference.
  22. It will not get as GOOD of a reception as the 60 series.
