I pay a "brokerage fee" to UPS when coins are shipped from China. I sign for the packages and there is shipping paperwork/invoice from the manufacturer on the box. As a side note, I do wire transfers to the manufacturer and it costs me a chunk to do it from my credit union and it now costs the manufacturer some money to receive the wire transfer. I know payment can be done with a credit card on file and I'm not sure if there is any charge going that route but I'm not comfortable with having an overseas company having access to my credit card information. Here's one of the old threads I could find on presales. Didn't want to hijack the other thread. Folks, speaking as a vendor, don't buy on presales. It doesn't matter how reliable someone is, life does happen and things get delayed or never delivered and there goes your hard earned money. Like someone else mentioned in another thread, we've seen it over and over and it never turns out pretty. I've spoke numerous times in other threads about the one time I tried a presale and I will NEVER do another one. As a vendor, I got my paypal account locked for doing a presale years ago for a geocoin sale. It got locked the day the presale ended and all the money was sitting in my account and I had no access to it. I had alot of coins that needed to be minted and thank goodness I had funds in a savings account because that could have been an ugly mess for me and my customers. It was an event that I never anticipated happening but it did and paypal can be a son-of-a-gun to deal with. Buying in a presale is a RISK and nothing more. It's really that simple. I've said it before and I'll say it again for those of you newer to the geocoin craziness, if a vendor/coin designer can not afford to make a coin without getting your money in their hands first, then they shouldn't be making coins. That way the only risk is to the coin vendor/designer, right where it should be. tsun

Stop that I'm sorry but I added a new K9 family member and before you know it I was also pretty sick (bed-ridden), I'm still slowly recovering but doing much better. The most I have been able to do is bring wood to the house for the woodstove, so geocoins fell off the radar. I was burning the candle at both ends and now I'm paying the price This will have to wait for a couple more months along with a couple other designs that are sitting at the mint. I'm starting to doubt I'll have the 2011 ET done this year also I gotta concentrate on getting healthy, then I'll do the coin stuff again. tsun

Sorry for not checking in sooner, I've been extraordinarly busy with work. I've not had much free time I'm glad to see most packages have arrived. I did have 1 package come back to me but I've sent an email to everyone. I mailed some more packages today for those who wanted to order from my extras stock. I will probably do another remint of 2 colorful versions but not anytime soon and it won't be reservations. I'll probably just do a small minting and throw them up in the store. It's an illness - I have it too! I also have that bug It's a good sickness to have lol Just a quick update. With the exception of about 5 people, all invoices were sent a few days back. I'm still waiting on payment from a few people. I will be sending out 1 shipment tomorrow (Monday) and the rest on Tuesday. This was a large order and it was easier for me to just get everyone's packages put together before hitting the PO. I will have the remaining packages packed tonite. Neat concept, can't wait to see it. It kind of reminds me a bit of a geocoin that came out a few years ago, originating out of Europe. I can't remember the name of it, I have one version though. It had that "1/2" resin type stone in the middle of it and you could see the design underneath the stone (which was perfectly round and smooth). Maybe I should go to the pictionary thread and draw it tsun

Time for another update The coins should be shipping shortly, I've sent payment and am waiting on my shipping date which I think should be within the next few days to maybe the first couple of days next week. I'm currently on "vacation" and will be away from home for a few days starting Friday. I am going to start sending out price totals along with my paypal email address. You can send payment a bit early or you can wait until you know I have them in hand. You do what is most comfortable for you. I will try to work through as many emails as I can over the next few days but don't worry if you don't hear from me by Friday, I will pick up where I left off on Tuesday.I will post updates as I move along in the process. The other announcement is more for those of you attending GCF EU in Germany. The Geocaching Shop.nl (Netherlands) will be selling 2 versions of the dragonfly geocoin. There were 25 of each version minted and they do have the option to mint more after all is said and done. They chose their colors. I got a picture from the factory and here it is.
