  1. Gripper has gone missing or ripped off. I think the geomuggles like the new race tags . Here is what we got from a cacher who was going to pick up Gripper. RE: Gripper Siggy, Wanted to grab your TB racer and take it to KC with us to release with Cool Ride, but it wasn't at the No TX cache. Hope it shows up. Good Luck, JNJWalla Looks like Gripper is out of it like Oscar II. '96 Olympic-Volunteer
  2. So much for Karma . Looks like Oscar II has gone missing in action (ripped off if you ask me!). Got a message from LilDevil that indicates: "Bad news. I visited the Men In Black cache where Oscar II was supposed to be. And he was gone! The cache is pretty old so naturally it held a bunch of trash. I was cleaning it out, and I did find a laminated tag that says "Oscar II wants to win the 2004 Cannonball Run 2" along with some basic instructions, ending with "Thanks, '96 Olympic-Volunteer" Finding that encouraged me to go thru the slag really well in hopes that maybe the dogtag was also there but it wasn't. " Thanks LilDevil for the effort! I have emailed other cahcers who were at the cache and "eyeboy" last saw Oscar II on May 7. Looks like he is out of the race for now unless he shows up someplace. Hey, its not over yet! Got a feeling he's still in this one. '96 Olympic-Volunteer
  3. What's the story on DarthV and Leia? Move those two sometime back while in OH and Darth in TN before that. Haven't seen any moves since Dec. Any contact with the cacher who has them now? Can't be that much snow up there not to be able to get out to a cache or two? '96 Olympic Volunteer
  4. Yaaahoooo! Oscar made it. A bit late but what the heck! Thanks for all the help from the cachers who moved him along . '96 Olympic-Volunteer
  5. Oscar's Express had a bit of bad luck and still heading for the finish at least to say he got there but, Oscar II and Gripper are on their way for 2004! '96 Olympic-Volunteer and Siggy
  6. If you check the cache log the last cacher to have Oscar indicated he had some back surgery. I have been in contact with him most of the time and glad Robert is again out hunting caches . Oscar is on his own now and hopes to make it to the finish. None the less, Oscar II is waiting in the wings for the next race!
  7. quote:I think Oscar's Express was like the runner that plays the role of "rabbit" in a race -- he couldn't maintain the fast pace and emptied his gas tank. quote:Originally posted by Team GeoDillo: BTW...what ever happened to Oscar's Express? No need to worry about Oscar. He's not "in Iraq" or in the "Geomancer cache" either. Just save yourselves from the friends of those 17 CA bugs and that blockade on the fault line. 8. quote:Oscars Express may be out of my reach Just as long as you keep him in the US within the 12 mile limit. He doesn't have a traveling pass port and cannot swim! '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy
  9. Wooops, Wrong button! Sorry. [This message was edited by '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy on March 30, 2003 at 08:23 PM.]
  10. Dear "Rouge Cop", Oscar’s owner is an ex-federal law enforcement officer and can reach out and touch any driver making numerous, suspicious, trips across state lines in the northeast with friends with real arrest powers! Its ticket time in NY, PA or, OH! Watch yourself my friend, watch yourself. Obey all the speed limits and do not draw attention to yourself looking for caches across state lines! Does NY have a work release program? If so, come on down to FL next week to help Oscar do some cache in trash out work on the beaches for a while and we will have the troopers go easy on you. Oscar will be crossing the Mississippi soon, according to his plan. When he does he will still be in his owner's hands not yours! You are just about too late to threaten him at this point in the race. Tell the owner you are working for to heed my words about all the California cachers in the world waiting out there on that "fault line blockade" that I talked about in my last post on page 9 (probably now lost in the land of www OZ). I wouldn't back tract too many racers from CA right now if I were you. We are all in for a good whacking once our racers hit the state line out there. '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy
  11. Looks like some wants to waylay Oscar and use the “rules” to do it, “in the spirit of the race” of course. I guess that is to be expected for anyone out in front of the pack. No problem!! I have been staying within the rules of this race. Let’s see what rules the NYGO develops for next year!! Right now I am playing by the rules as specified by Brogan in the posts and on the rules web page site as best that I can interpret. You can also tell by the category awards for the race that this is to be all in fun, like going through the fewest number of caches or directionally impaired. Seems to me that some owners need to stop picking on Oscar and prepare and defend yourselves for the trip down the road. Check it out, none of us has a snowballs chance in.... the CA desert! Speaking of allowable interference, has anyone looked at the number of racers from CA? Last I saw there were 17. Can anyone spell blockade on the fault line? Their friends are probably out there right now, waiting for the rest of us to enter their territory. It just might be an advantage to some of us to see what they will do with the first one to arrive in CA, like the lonely ole Oscar, or maybe one of yours! They are going to use the rules in the “spirit of the race” to whack us a good one. Heck, Oscar’s route, at this point in time, takes him up the middle of the state while you think your racer can sneak in from another direction without being noticed. Right, like that’s going to happen! Better to make a plan and enlist some help, rather than let your racer just float free from cache to cache with a strong chance of being picked up by all the non-CannonBall California cachers in the world. They are going to have open season on CannonBall TB’s sooner or later. Within the spirit of caching and the race, I have contacted cachers from other states to help my racer along and they had agreed to assist. It was nice to meet some cachers from other states like Team SueShe, and the Lyndon Road Gang. It was good to meet JoGPS on a chance meeting. I have contacted additional cachers in states along Oscar”s planned route and have heard from many of them. I hope to meet some of them soon. With others I will just have to have email exchanges. They are too far to drive to so I will have to let Oscar go at some point! Now, isn’t that one part of the idea of GEOcaching?? Sharing tales and meeting folks. Also, Oscar made a special stop in Nashville to pickup an old friend, which is now attached to his side to honor the troops protecting our country. Check out his photo. He now races with them in mind too! And, he challenges all other racers to do the same. That’s Spirit. Thanks, '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy [This message was edited by '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy on March 21, 2003 at 06:04 PM.]
  12. I can get him to AL, MS, GA, FL from here with no probem. Which one do you want to see him go to next? '96 Olympic-Volunteer [This message was edited by '96 Olympic-Volunteer & Siggy on March 21, 2003 at 11:46 AM.]

  14. I'm in and Oscar will be in the mail shortly. Sounds interesting. Any other Cannon Ball TB get out of Oscar's way or you could end up in the back of his truck and dropped off at a cache near the closest landfill. 15. Been reading the history of your game. Outstanding organizing process! Now that I have DV, I have some questions on when to send him on his way since Leia has not moved out of By The Bluestone in WV for over 3 months and Luke is someplace in Indiana. The note I have found with DV indicates "I must find Leia! Take me to INDIANA". It makes it sound as if she is there already and he needs to head that way, But, from what I read in your threads he needs to meet up with her first and both move on together to IN. 1. Should I hold DV until Leia starts moving again or move him then to the north . 2. Am I allowed to leave a note with DV indicating he is to meet Leia to travel with her to IN and to check out your web sites. 3. Or, am I making this to complicated and just move him down the road? Don't mind getting involved with some strategic planning move for DV, if necessary, to move him now or later in the Knoxville area if you had any of that kind of stuff in mind. Thanks,
