  1. I have the same error occuring. =========================================================================== "Warning: Use of undefined constant code - assumed 'code' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/geoche7/public_html/index.php on line 54 Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /home/geoche7/public_html/_headerfooter.php:9 Stack trace: #0 /home/geoche7/public_html/index.php(150): include() #1 {main} thrown in /home/geoche7/public_html/_headerfooter.php on line 9" =========================================== Perhaps Geochecker is no longer supported.
  2. One of my caches has a guardian. It startled a recent finder. Always look before you reach!
  3. 3 of my caches had false logs today, from 3 different user-ids (Sanford2925, Dennis1846 and Pacheco4957). The ids were all set up today and had recorded ~100 finds from all over the world. I just deleted the false logs. It would be useful to eliminate this irritant permanently.
  4. Thanx for the info. I'm not trying to block the ads, (altho it would get rid of the irritation); I want to eliminate the source of the malware.
  5. Recently, I've been receiving false "need for support" messages on my Android, that state: My Android 4.4 computer and Android Browser web browser has popup ads ENABLED; call 1-844-329-3153 to fix the problem. I don't have popups enabled and this is an obvious attempt to catch me. There are many websites that discuss how to get rid of this Adware for PCs; e.g. http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-call-now-1-844-329-3153/ I haven't found one that relates to Androids. I only get these when I'm am accessing geocaching.com. Anyone else had this happen to them? Anyone have a solution to eliminate this irritation?
  6. Amen!!! The new function is awkward and a pain to use. If it must be changed, give us an option to use the original, efficient function.
  7. 1. What format is the "solved" file in? If you can, please post a short segment as example. Mask out any GC code with GCXXXX and replace coordinates with "0.0" The Solved file is a GPX format. I've been maintaining it with EasyGPS or MapSource. I add waypoints of new puzzle solutions and then upload the GPX file to my etrex Legend. On this older model, the waypoints were handled as geocaches, so I could find them as Geocaches. 2. Are you using any additional software to manage your solved puzzles? EasyGPS or MapSource I'm going to assume that each entry looks something like : <wpt lat="0.0" lon="0.0"> <name>GCXXXX</name> </wpt> Here's what the entries look like. Looks valid to me. =================================== <wpt lat="26.000000" lon="-80.000000"> <time>2012-12-21T23:37:22Z</time> <name>++13 Baktun</name> <sym>Geocache</sym> <extensions> <label xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/gpx_overlay/0/3"> <label_text>++13 Baktun</label_text> </label> </extensions> </wpt> ============================================= That's a waypoint format, without the Groundspeak extension that marks it as a geocache, and the Garmin would import it as a waypoint. There may be utilities that can save that as GPX, if you don't care about details, hints, log, etc. You want to do that periodically anyway, or you would not have the latest information. Once you mark it as found, it will not show up in a search anymore. I do run periodic PQs; hopefully the Solved Puzzle caches will upload properly. Because you've been using it for years Can you load caches into it without software? No. Can you load maps onto it without software? No. Does it support paperless caching? No. Hang in there. There's a learning curve, but you'll be up and running in no time. I'm getting the hang of it. Enjoying the new features. But I still wish that Garmin would do a better job with their manuals! Thanx for your help.
  8. If you were to upload your "Found" geocaches (as field notes) to geocaching.com, the system allows for deletion from the unit at that time. No need to download new PQ data just to overwrite the old data. I am using the "new for me" Field Notes facility to load Found caches. It works very nicely and does save time for log entry. I didn't see an obvious way to delete the Found caches from the etrex20, but it doesn't seem to be a necessity in any case. I'll run a new PQ periodically to keep the etrex20 up to date. Thanx for the help.
  9. Thanx for the reply. The GPX file seems to be in the correct format, but all the entries are now considered as Waypoints, not Geocaches. I'm now updating the Puzzle cache pages with the correct coords and uploading them that way. I have learned the new process to create PQs and then transfer them directly to the etrex20 as an external drive. It works quite well.
  10. Thanx for the reply and the idea. I've done as you suggested and changed the coords on the cache pages for the puzzles that I've solved and downloaded to the etrex20. I'll see how that works when I next go searching.
  11. I have a new etrex20 and am having trouble loading my backup GPX file of "Solved Puzzles". Specifically, all the geocaches on the "Solved" file are loaded fine, but they're considered Waypoints, not Geocaches. This means that I can't use the etrex20 features related to Geocaches; e.g. Logging when found. How can I convert these Waypoints to Geocaches? Also is there any way to delete "Found" geocaches from an etrex20? "Deleting all", running a new PQ and reloading all, seems like a "make work" project. My original etrex LengendH was a lot easier to use!
  12. Recently, whenever I add a new log, the default date is incorrect. Usually it uses to the last date that I entered. After I correct the date, it stays correct for the rest of the logs that I enter that day. But, it's wrong the next day that I enter new cache logs. I don't know if it's a bug or I've got some variable set incorrectly. BTW, my system time/date is correct. Thanx for any help.
  13. In the past few days I'm not receiving notifications for all new "Published" caches .... I do get some of them, but not all.
  14. I'm using Norton AntiVirus and having the problem, but I see that someone else who uses Norton isn't so that's not it.
  15. I am also having trouble getting Geocaching.com Google Maps to work. It never loads any caches and is 'stuck' at "Loading Map ...". Using Windows/XP, FireFox, low-speed access Help!!
  16. I have tried that but it still snaps back to the shortest route or main highway. I had the same problem, until I discovered that I had to grab a point on the route, not the END point. If you grab the END point, the Map software redetermines what is the "Best Route". Hope this helps.
  17. I also noticed that I am missing notifications; some of my caches were found yesterday but I wasn't sent the proper notification. Something's wrong at geocaching.com.
  18. I've been having similar problems for a few weeks. Running IE7 and WIN/XP on 2 different PCs with no luck. Downloaded and installed Firefox in about 5 minutes and now the Maps work beautifully. I should have looked in this forum long ago.
