    A Bug Idea

My mother- in- law passed away recently and I was trying to think of a fit memorial for her. She liked to travel but never realy got out much as she would have liked to. I was wondering if people would think it Morbid or just plain wrong to get a small containor of some kind and send out some of her Ashes. (She was cremated) Would people have a problem with handling somthing like this.

    Geo Coin

Not all oregon geo coins are travlers. They all have the potential to travel. They can all be tracked. I have placed several and do not expect them to travel. some have have some havnt. Some did for a while then stopped. If you have found one that is traveling it would be nice to keep it moving. If you have found one that has not moved and has no directions with it you can contact the owner and see if you can keep it.
  4. I know I am not from Washinington anymore but I thought I would add something just an observation. Oregon has had its own coins for awhile now. They are tracked on the oreogn caching web page. I dont know how a lot of other coins are doing but I have placed 6 a couple moved a couple of times but then "disapeared" the others never made it past the first cache. I personally dont care if they move or not I put them out there for people to find and enjoy. They still disapear fast around here and there was just another order made so I believe we will have 1500 out and about. And when one is mentioned in a cahce they are usually the first thing to go. As to collecting Montain bike coins to get an icon. I disagree I want one because they are cool. I collect SI and have one of the wooden ones but would love a real coin. Getting a icon would be cool but believe me people will grab them just because they are cool.
  5. If you do not get more rquests, would it be possible for those of us tha would like more to put in another request?
  6. Thanks Jeremy I will get it out soon.
  7. I think you will find that a few of us south of the border will be ordering coins. I also grew up in Spokane and lived in Wentachee for 3 years so Washington is a second home to me. Watching this grow it almost makes me want to suggest that Oregon does another coin. That way we can have a "cheap" one and a more expensive one.
  8. And if you dont say its mt. Rainier you could easly call it mt Spokane. That way both sides can be happy.
  9. We just added a new section to the PDX forum you can post there and see what happens go to http://www.pdxgeocaching.com
  10. I used to be that way but have long since given up. I have three travel bugs. 1 went missing after the initial pick up over a year ago. One I though I had lost but suddenly surfaced. And one that is moving somwhat slowly but its moving. To me its more like a pleasant surprise when I open my mail and it says that one has been moved. You'll give yourself ulcers waiting. Just relax and perty soon things will happen.
  11. Suziq got me no where but here are the highlights of suzi suzi is dead suzi is abducted suzi is hidden behind one of three closed doors suzi is not necessarily one specific person suzi is the one Seems they know me well.
  12. I blew it I did not relaize I would need the tracking number off of the Yellow jeep I placed today to enter the essay contest. I figured when I posted log for the bug I could enter the contest then. Is there anyway I can get the number???
  13. Very but interesting. I do activly search for Benchmarks if they are close to where I will be. Its fun. I was wondering why GC does not let you put them in the database? After all they are more stable than a cache and just as fun to find. If you can get aproval for a cache just about anywhere why cant you get a disk in the ground. I have just recently got a digital camera but I was not expecting to find one so did not have it with me. Isnt there some way to get these into the"record" short of going through the NGS. Maybe at least a pinned forum page so if more people are interested in finding it they new at least the waypoint for it. It would be nice to be able to have a "find" logged but to me its not numbers but the hunt.
  14. thanks I did not think of looking at there stats. I do know there is a bench mark there I have seen it. Any thought of why it isnt listed.
  15. I realize that not all bench marks are located in the data base. But there have been a couple of logs on the cache age saying they have "logged" it. But for the life of me I cant find it. Unfortunatly i did not get a picture or the number but I do have the coordinates and the cache page. N46 41.916 W120 26.739 Cache page gc4782 Does anyone have a clue where I can find it. thanks for your time.
  16. M38 1953 Willeys. She dont go fast but she will walk up a wall.
  17. I recently found a cache that has only 6 finds in the last couple of years. One was a non_cacher who found a waypoint(it was a multi) while taking a pee. So you see anything can happen.
  18. I think every one that owns a jeep should get a couple to give out. That could only be about 1000 of us right. By the way I own a 1953 Willys jeep. Its my cache mobil unfortunatly its orange not yellow.
  19. OK I am not the same old poster. I hardly ever post but have been a member for over a year. You did not follow the rules. You do not go past go. You are guilty. No free parking.
  20. Ok now i am nervous we ordered a lone star by bounty hunter. Was this a mistake???
  21. Funny you should mention this my husband and I had the same discusion last week. Ours started because while out gardening I lost my wedding ring in the garden. We were going to rent one to search for it. But after talking about how cool it would be to use it on the beach ect we decided to go ahead and purchase one. As an after thought we decided we would take it caching with us. This was after discovering I had lost a lazer pointer keychain the last time we were caching and thought we might discover other treasures that people had lost while out tromping throught the woods. We had no thoughts of using it ot find the actual cache. But who knows. Good luck finding one, when we went to look for one all we could find is one for 500 (a tad bit more than what we wanted to spend) or one for 40 (it looked like a childs toy). We ended up ordering one for 200 from the internet. We are awating its arivail. We will let you know how it comes out.
  22. I have been following this thread and find it interesting. I was talking to my husband and we had a couple of thoughts about caching in disneyland. We could see Disney using this to there advantage. They have just discovered a whole new area to exploit. We realize that this website will not let comercial cahces be listed but Disney does not need this site they could have there own caches in the park. As a matter of fact they could have huge multi that would take you to every corner of the park and a final where you get your I cached at disney button. They would charge you for the intial coordinates much like charging for a "ride". And even rent GPS'S. This could be a huge cach cow for them. How many of you would do this if it was offered??
