The joystick on my Garmin eTrex Legend would only work in two of the four directions. However, I took the advise of a few experienced Geocachers and I contacted Garmin about the problem. Garmin told me to box up my unit and send it to them to check out. Today I got my eTrex Legend back and it was completely gone through and repaired. Garmin even updated my software to 3.70 Now I can go Geocaching again with my Legend. I give Garmin two "Thumbs Up". Garmin came through for me and made me a satisfied customer.

I have a problem with my eTrex Legend joy stick also. I am currently discussing the problem with Garmin. I hope they will repair the gps unit for me. It worked really well for a few months, and then the joystick would not let me go Down or Right. I'll try to keep you posted on my response with Garmin. I hope you get your unit fixed, too.

I have a Garmin Etrex Legend that is only about a year old and the Toggle Switch will not let me toggle down or to the right. This is quite a problem because it is hard to use the GPS unit. Is there a way to repair the toggle switch? It doesn't look like the case comes apart easily. I may have to throw away my GPS unit. What is the best brand of GPS? I am not impressed with Garmin.
