  1. Hello there!! Good heavens, I've missed out on some GREAT geocoins this past year (so many lovely new coins on the forum) - and even missed geocoinfest. Sometimes regular life just needs attention and focus, and I'm in one of those places right now. The folks at The Geocoin Store, however, have been wonderful and helpful, and have picked up a special version of the Trees & Men Geocoin. It's a gorgeous color combo, Antique Bronze with coordinating translucents that let you see all the crazy detail underneath. You can pick it up here. I hope you like it, and promise I'll make more coins as soon as I have more time for play!
  2. Great turn-out at our 12-12-12 tonight. Super fun, too. Thanks Avorair and OakCoins!!
  3. The New York event just published! Got a great location for the finale. GC40ACD

  9. Hahahahaaa!!! You are going to have a blast. Be sure to come say hello.
  10. I am really excited about the enthusiastic responses to this coin. THANK YOU! This is a special one for me. I love all the silly details that went into it (for example, there's eight different trees represented by their identifiable leaves under the translucent, and Orion hidden in the constellations) - and how well it translated all the way through to production. Some folks are writing to me and asking me if I can take reservations, and I just can't. I have a full time job and a family, and this whole coin design thing is a personal outlet for me. I love the events, having a booth, meeting everyone and being in coin heaven. I just can't manage an internet store or reservations. What I will do, though, is after the event, if I have any left over, I will post them for sale and organize and mail stuff for about two weeks, or until the coins sell out (whichever comes first). Here is a picture of the back of the coin - the Limited Edition, which is black nickel with GLOW. SIX DAYS UNTIL COINFEST!
  11. Thank you! I think this color scheme is really successful.
  12. Here is a picture of the back of the coin. If there are any leftovers after the event, I'll post them for sale and take orders for a week or so, or until the coins run out (whichever comes first). More info on the coins and what I am up to can be seen on my facebook page.
  13. Very exited to see enthusiasm for this coin. Some folks are writing and asking for reservations. I really just can't manage that. What works best for me is selling at events, and not managing an internet store. What I will do, though, is post about any leftovers after the event, and take orders for a week or so, or until the coins run out (whichever comes first). Here is a picture of the back of the coin: More info on the coins and what I am up to can be seen on my facebook page.

  15. Only six more days! Super excited, but way behind on getting ready. So, I'll have all the new coins for sale at my booth (see other posts) and artist editions for trading. There's a ton of new coins this past year, and I haven't managed to pick up any of them, so I'm crossing my fingers for trades (2012 Earth Turtle, Egyptian Scarab, Kaleidoscope, Circle of Four, Anne's Koi, Shark Tooth, Check Paper, Cache Dragons, Hindenburg, London Underground, We Will not Fail, Lilly Pad, Wolfpack, Washington Peace... you name it, I missed it this year! ) Here's pictures of the AE editions of my new designs: Trees & Men. Antique Silver. Pearl earth and Pearl moon on front - Glitter sky on back. Mountains Calling. Antique Silver. Black and white.
  16. Here's the artwork for New York's coin.
  17. Here is a new and a special edition of Marvelous Nature that will debut at geocoinfest in 15 days. This one is black nickel with rainbow translucents. It is a show-stopper.
  18. Mountains Calling is a coin series celebrating the things that many geocachers love. The the call of the outdoors, the natural world, the wonder of mathematics and structure in all living things. This coin is Seed, and it has two sister-coins in the series (see other posts). The coin is a graphic representation of a the Seed of Life, which is a smaller version of the Flower of Life. It is a geometrical figure composed of overlapping circles. They arrange into a symmetry, with the center of each circle on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. Mathematics and nature fascinate me, as does this ancient pattern. Ernie's Flower of Life Geocoin was the first geocoin I purchased many years ago, and still a favorite in my collection. It is thought to be a sacred geometry, and represent fundamental forms of space and time. The back of the coin hosts a quote by Muir "The mountains are calling and I must go" and the inlay pattern that I've been stitching into my quilts this past year (rocks, earth, spirals, sunrise/sunset). From blueprints for the mint: To colored artwork: To coin: The coin is trackable on geocaching.com, is 1.25" in diameter and has a unique icon. I made 100 in satin gold and they will debut for sale at geocoinfest in 15 days. There is also a small run of artist edition in antique silver and black and white for trade only.
  19. Mountains Calling is a coin series celebrating the things that many geocachers love. The the call of the outdoors, the natural world, the wonder of mathematics and structure in all living things. This coin is Lotus, and it has two sister-coins in the series (see other posts). The coin is a graphic representation of a lotus flower and the earth. It references my first design, Sunshine, Freedom, Flower Geocoin. The lotus emerges from the muddy water of a pond and blooms with complete clarity, purity and beauty. The lotus flower is a symbol of purity, rebirth and spontaneous generation. The lotus represents love, compassion, intelligence, wisdom and knowledge. The pink lotus in particular is considered the supreme lotus in the Buddhist tradition. The back of the coin hosts a quote by Muir "The mountains are calling and I must go" and the inlay pattern that I've been stitching into my quilts this past year (rocks, earth, spirals, sunrise/sunset). From early artwork: To mint artwork: To coin: The coin is trackable on geocaching.com, is 1.25" in diameter and has a unique icon. 20. Mountains Calling is a coin series celebrating the things that many geocachers love. The the call of the outdoors, the natural world, the wonder of mathematics and structure in all living things. This coin is Blossom, and it has two sister-coins in the series (see other posts). The coin is a graphic representation of plum blossoms. The plum blossom is an early bloomer, often blooming when there is still snow on the ground, representing vitality and vigor, courage and strength. It is a reminder that spring will come. It is a celebration of life and endurance through hardship. This particular arrangement of the blossoms also references sashiko stitching, which is used in quilting (those of you who know me know I am also a quilter). The back of the coin hosts a quote by Muir "The mountains are calling and I must go" and the inlay pattern that I've been stitching into my quilts this past year (rocks, earth, spirals, sunrise/sunset). From sketchbook: To artwork To coin The coin is trackable on geocaching.com, is 1.25" in diameter and has a unique icon. 21. I've got a new coin for debut at Geocoinfest Colorado. Inspired by a quote by John Muir, it's been kicking around in my sketchbook for a while. It started out like this: Then moved into artwork for the mint: And today, the COINS ARRIVED! Here is a picture of the regular edition: The coin is trackable on geocaching.com, is 3" x 1.25" and has a unique icon. The regular edition (satin silver with translucents and a glow moon) and the limited edition (black nickel with glow-in-the-dark backgrounds) will debut for sale at geocoinfest in 15 days. The artist edition is for trade only. I hope you like it. I'll get more pictures up soon.
  22. Hi there! It's only 15 days until Geocoinfest in Colorado, and I am getting pretty excited for it. I'm also wondering what to expect this year. I'm going to have a vendor booth with four brand new geocoin designs, and one new re-mint. I'll be at the event Friday night hoping to catch up with folks and do some trading. My whole family is coming to this one, which is a treat. Looking forward to it and hope to see many of you there. So, who is coming and what are you bringing?
  23. DrNeal, So nice to see your heartfelt and meaningful design come to life. I hope the mint troubles work out.
  24. This coin is just gorgeous.
