  1. I use iGuidance here in the US, but I am traveling abroad, and would love to use some maps I found online, on my PPC. The idea being you import the maps, and then you enter in GPS points on known locations on the map, the program will triangulate and give you an accurate map that works with the GPS. I've seen the apps on the Sony PDAs, and was wondering if anyone has seen a solution for the PPC?
  2. Great! Looks like Jeeps and Subarus are the fav. car. I would say "i'm the one in the silver WRX" but there will be 4 of those. See you there. -Dan
  3. I hope this may interest some of you. No special car/truck is really needed. But AWD can help if it snows. You get to see the Grand Canyon, meet a bunch of great people. You also get to see the "real" rally. Any questions just let me know, we went last year for driving side of it, but got into GPSs because of it. Link to info page (finally updated) http://www.rallyusa.com/adv_general.html Standard Entry $450.00 (on or before 11/30/2003) Late Entry $550.00 (after 11/30/2003) Did you enter last year or plan to provide your own a GPS unit? Special Entry $250 (excludes GPS unit) (on or before 11/30/2003) Your Adventure Entry includes the following: One Magellan SporTrak Map GPS included with each entry. "Rally bag" for both driver and Co-driver with great rally gifts including an event tee shirt. One hotel room at the Ramada Express Hotel and Casino for the evenings of Friday - Saturday , Dec. 12-13 Adventure Rally GPS School and Practice GPS Rally on Friday. Friday Evening Yokohama Tire Welcoming Party. The 2002 JAOS Adventure Rally Saturday 13. A special "buried treasure prize" for each team. Prizes and awards for JAOS Adventure Rally winners. Admission and fees to drive your vehicle onto the Hualapai Indian's designated wilderness reservation areas. Saturday lunch prepared by the Hualapai Indians and served on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Saturday evening Magellan party and the JAOS Adventure Rally Awards Ceremony. VIP admission and special location at the Tokico Shocks SuperStage on Sunday. Gala International/JAOS Adventure Rally Awards Party Sunday night in the Ramada Express Hotel and Casino's Pavilion Ballroom. I suggest getting the $250 package and picking up a Magellan GPS of eBay for $150, or just use your own ! You can use any GPS, but they will be able to help you with the magellan ones if you have never used one before (that wont apply to most of you).
