I have been looking at possibly getting a new Triton, but concerned about the battery in these. What kind of battery does this 400 use? Can you give me an idea on the battery life? Thanks.....

Having a problem with my Magellan Explorist 500 displaying my geocaches. I load my geocahing files just as always (not doing anything new or different) but my unit will not display the geocaches on my map. I made sure that I have not turned off the feature to show geocaches. It's not turned off, that was the first thing I checked. The files are loaded, that was the second thing I checked. I store all my geochacing files on my SD card, and when I navigate within the GPS, it shows the files on the card. But when I go to the file within the GPS, it does not show any geocaches. It's acting as if the file is empty, but I know it's not because I can check the file on my computer and it has the geocaches in it. So the second thing I thought to check, maybe the SD card had a problem. I loaded the geocache file to the internal memory of the GPS, and still same problem. It acts as if there is no information in the file. Anybody had any similiar issue with Explorist as this? Is there something remotely simple I have overlooked? I have contacted Magellan tech support by email, but have yet to get a reply. If I have to replace my unit, I'm thinking about going with another brand since Magellan doesn't seem to want to help me. Anyone got any suggestions on GPS units for geocaching?

I have a Magellan Explorist 500. I had not used it in about a month, and on a recent trip wanting to do some geocaching, I noticed that none of my geocaches would show on my map. After several attempts to remedy the problem I have come up empty. I load my geocache file as always to my SD card, and the GPS shows the file there. When I go to menu, then Pts of Interest, then Geocache Pts, it shows my geocache file, but no geocaches. I'm not doing anything different than I always have. It's just not showing the goecaches. It's like the file is there, but the information within the file doesn't exist. I have checked the file in notepad to make sure geocache info is in there, and it is. Just the GPS does not recognize it. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm leaving for California Sunday and this is not making me happy knowing I wont be able to geocache there.

My TB I set out last year has been missng since Oct 07. It shows to be in a cache, but recent logs say there is no TB in the cache. I have the copy safely at home. What do I do to replace my TB?

No, I have the cable connected right, and can open explorer and see my GPS listed there, so I know it is connected to the computer properly.

I have an Explorist 500 and Mapsend Direct Route v2. I have connected my GPS to my computer by USB numerous times and downloaded geocache info to the GPS using the Geocache software that came with the unit. I have purchased the DR v2 and trying to download a region to my GPS, but no luck with the Mapsend detecting my GPS. After reading some posts, I have tried connecting the GPS first, and then starting the software, but still Mapsend won't detect my GPS. Anyone have any suggestions or help?
