  1. I like to look for caches that have not been found for a while. Is there a way to have a pocket query list caches that have not been found for xx days or months?
  2. On Monday we visited "Big Lake North" cache GCG8J5. There were two other visitors that logged visits that day but they have have yet to log their visits on the web page. There also were two TB's in the cache and neither of them were logged in. I took one - Lisa and left the other Craftsman. When I went to the TB page for Craftsman it shows that it was picked up by "justmeworkingman" on 8/24 from GC918F cache but he never logged into that cache either, strange. The I went to "justmeworkingman"'s page and it shows he has found 4 TB's but has not found any caches!! Is this just someone who doesn't know how to play the game? Wonder how many missing TB's are travelling around but are not properly recorded? Kissimmee Kouple
  3. I recently found four that were paved over on a multi-use trail. Someone had recently found them because the hole they dug and then patched was clearly visable in the asphalt. They also painted the number, circled the hole, and put up a witness post. Check AK7032. I logged them with a note instead of a not found. Should I change that? Also checked the NGS database to see if they were recently logged as found but there was nothing there, yet. Kissimmee Kouple
  4. TB locations could be shown to members only - another benefit of membership. Kissimmee Kouple
  5. Yesterday someone placed a bug in one of my caches GCGKPC. They entered it in the cache log, said it was "their first cache"(?) but their total showed 2. When I looked at the bug TB log their name never showed up. So, I made a note showing that I grabbed it and logged it into my cache. Also emailed the owner who was happy to hear it was OK and suprised it was in Florida. Not sure if what I did was proper but it seemed to get the bug back on the record. Have a friend that picked one up and had no idea how to log it. He went to the TB page and made entries but never actually *picked the bug up*. Is there a tag that can be placed with a bug, similar to the one placed with a cache? I would like to see something that says you are assuming some responsibility when you take a bug. Also would like to see detailed instructions on the tag for logging a TB. I think some bugs end up like the one I found where people retrieve them and move them but have no clue about logging them on the TB page, they only log them on the cache page. Kissimmee Kouple
  6. That's exactly the way I have been playing and why I only entered a note for the mark. Didn't think it would be good to dig up the fresh patch of asphalt to see the mark, even if I were to patch it again. Also why I take of picture of all of my finds and am disappointed when others do not. Thanks for confirming it. Kissimmee Kouple
  7. While riding the Van Fleet Trail in Polk City, Florida I saw where a hole had been cut in the asphalt and then patched. The circimference of the hole was painted with orange paint with the inscription "RT-MP-014". A carsonite witness post was placed about 18' away on the edge of the right-of-way. When I looked in the data base I found this listed as AK7033. The coordinates were right on the money. But, I didn't see the actual mark so I just entered a note. Can I "ethically" claim this as a find?
  8. Here are some lisitngs which refer to DIM roads. AF7114 AF7446 AH8826 AH9315 AF7094 AF7058 AF7056 AF7057 Kissimmee Kouple
  9. Makes sense. I'll bet roads described as dim 20+ years ago will be a bit hard to find today Thanks for the replies. Kissimmee Kouple
  10. Reading descriptions for benchmarks in Florida they often refer to a DIM road. What is a DIM road? Kissimmee Kouple
  11. Lesley, I brought one back earlier this year from the Gros Morne cache. If you get a chance, check out GCA4F2 Sailors be warned near Twillingate. This is the most spectacular place I have seen for a cache! Kissimmee Kouple
  12. What about found it or destroyed category? This would be a reflection that the site was visited. Not found for me means the actual site was not found even though an effort may have been made. Kissimmee Kouple
  13. Living about 15 miles from Disney World my gripe is with people that visit the area, hide a cache and never return. Kissimmee Kouple
  14. Last week I found one of the new marks which are a rod placed in a tube with a metal cover on top. The mark was on the side of a country road so I opened the cover to look inside. The rod was there. The cover had the name and date stamped in the top. Unfortunately this one wasn't in the data base. I would assume I could count one like this without opening the cover and seeing the actual mark because the name is stamped on the cover. Correct? Kissimmee Kouple
