  1. A quick fiddle suggest there are about 2495 active caches in Yorkshire: 1027 North Yorkshire 1034 West Yorkshire 434 South Yorkshire Just a note... I left this topic open since it seemed to be bumped with a valid question, where the one I closed was bumped with just "Congratulations " (bumping for the sake of bumping almost). Thanks to rutson for doing some looking around. Nice work. South Yorkshire massive? not so massive
  2. The Hunters Stones is possibly my favorite cache of all time. We even went and found it again at the weekend without the gps for fun. Excellent cache, location and find! I think people are in for a real treat if they are looking to cache in the Harrogate area, it has possibly some of the most amazing caches and people dedicated to this hobby
  3. As with many aspects of caching you can pick and choose what you decide to get involved in. Forget all the other stuff thats going on and just go to the main event if thats your bag. I for one like the idea of the YouTube comp. Sounds fun. go **** on someone else's fire Profanity edited out Deceangi
  4. dont care what size the cache is, what can or cant be put in it. As long as the place where the cache is of interest to me thats all that counts.
  5. Why do these forums have so much drama? I get the impression certain people making something out of the smallest problems and creating them into huge issues. I don't claim to know the history, background or issues on these forums but to me MissJenn has atleast come on here and tried to explain her side/views in a polite manner. For that she has got s*** from people who should know better. Let them sort it out and report back to you like they say. Jumping down peoples throats only makes it worse.
  6. I seriously doubt any so called "yobs" or people likely to trash caches would go to such lengths as to find them via the website and go out of their way to disturb/smash a hidden plastic tub. I feel with the new gps phones it will encourage a whole new wave of Geocaching enthusiasts, which is a positive thing. It gets people out and about and might just decrease the average age of a typical geocacher! I just get the impression some people on here want to keep this fantastic hobby a closed shop, hidden secret, which is a real shame. The idea of charging people to use the website to prevent some form of caching trashing by this "new" phone gps generation is almost absurd.
  7. I avoid Puzzle caches unless its something you have to solve when your actually on the location. If I want to do a puzzle I will try a crossword.
  8. I have 0 chance of getting FTF's around Leeds / North Yorkshire as I sleep normal hours and don't venture out in the dark. We have a few around 'ere that will go out at ANY hour for the FTF, don't bother me
  9. Gratz just noticed your mark on a few caches I did today, well done.
  10. Congrats someone's name we see often on our travels around Yorkshire
  11. Ahh thats good to know, wondered when it started getting lighter!
