Thank you very much for fixing the problem, all is ok now. BTW I did contact the Help Center before posting on the forum but you fixed the issue before I even heard anything back from the Help Center. So in my experience forum > help center.

I've just gone to the "validation page", http://www.geocaching.com/v/send.aspx and it says "Account reck00 has already been validated. You will not need to revalidate your account unless your email address changes.

Validate your email again. According to your profile page, "The "Send Email" feature is disabled because this user is currently inactive." Failing that, contact Geocaching HQ. Hi. How do you validate your email again when it's already been validated? If I go to Account Settings -> Email Preferences I can see a green tick next to my email with the word validated next to it. I've also added a second email address and validated that as well, so now I have two validated email addressees. Everything on the website is suggesting everything is validated ok but obviously the geocaching apps think differently.

Hello, I've just reactivated my account to make it premium but when I come to login to my geocaching iPhone apps I get the following message. "An error has occurred: Your account is inactive and cannot be logged in". I've tried to login on 2 separate apps and get the same message on both. I'm able to login to the website fine and I can see my account has been made premium and I can also see my email address has been validated. What could be causing this? Thanks

Thanks for the replies but I’m still not clear on the difference between the different note types. For instance it sounds like you’re using field notes like I’m using a personal note, e.g “cute camo but loose lid..” Why don’t you use a personal note for this? What I do currently is make quick little notes when I’m in the field using personal notes for my own use and then later create a log which appears on the Geocache.com page when I want to log that I found or didn’t find the cache. So in this scenario what use is a field note? Why not just have personal and public logs?

When I go into the notes and logs section of my geocaching app there are 3 different tabs designed to hold the different types of notes and logs. They are labelled as “personal”, “field” and “log”. If I understand correctly the personal notes are just notes that only I can see and can help to store little notes and reminders for myself. I can see these on the Geocaching.com website as well. The log section is for when you want to report back if you’ve found or not found the cache etc and leave a little comment. This is what appears at the bottom of the cache and you can see what everyone has written so is public. So that leaves “field”. What is a field note and what is it used for that you can use the other two notes\logs for? Also is it private or public? I don’t see where these might be stored on the geocaching.com website. Thanks
