  1. Ah bon!
  3. This is not cheating - nothing in the rules says you must use a GPSr... But I don't think it's easier, because Google Earth is not a 100% accurate, and not all regions have good sattelite imagery (Like my place). I too like paper caching (altough I do not print anything), but I may switch to a mapping unit one day. But until then, I won't complain, my yellow 60 is more than enough.
  4. After 72 hours it is OK to contact your rewiewer. But normally it takes no more than 2 days.
  5. I'll say sea-toe, because that's how we say it in french too But I guess some people just say C-I-T-O.
  6. And even if a future version (iPhone 2G) has an intregated GPS, it would surely not be appropriate for Geocaching (at least without third-party apps). Like, just a map screen, or even worse, just Google maps for navigation.
  7. Looks like a ghost topic Kinda mysterious.
  8. It's divided in "tiles" (IE small portions of map). You choose the tiles you upload, and you can put up to 2025 in your GPSr. You can mix mapsets. You can also delete them one by one, or all of a specific mapset.
  9. One of these I guess => http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.asp...&submit4=Go
  10. I would buy either the Edge or a Foretrex / Forerunner. They are as small as a bike counter, so a fall wouldn't damage them. And the Edge 205 and 305, the Forerunner 205 and 305 have SiRF III.
  11. Until they make a new category for nanos (which I wouldn't reccomend, and which is not likely to be so), anything that is as small as or smaller than a 35mm film canister is a micro.
  12. Well I'm using a yellow 60 Mapping wasn't my priority when I bought it and it isn't much more now. It's just that I compared them (IE Geckos, eTrex, GPS 60, eTrex Summit), and found it not much more interesting than the yellow eTrex. For the use I make of it (Geocaching in wooden areas), the antenna of the 60 was the primary reason of my choice (followed by the bigger screen, the more user-friendly interface). But it's true that for someone that needs an altimeter and compass, it's a deal.
  13. Those are Summits (B&W). Just don't buy those.
  14. It's clearly impossible to know. No many people wander in the forums, and also not many people fill their profile. Even if you wanted to approximate, how could you do? But it may be a very small city (town) that wins. If the number of caches is extremely low, the ratio may be enormous!
  15. The Hide and Seek a Cache page, I was saying You sure know this one http://www.geocaching.com/seek Just click "Find caches with Google maps", then type "Paris, France". I've got more than 150
  16. Use google maps in the Hide'n Seek page
  17. What I do not understand is: What are you supposed to do with the coin? Log the two coins? Activate just one coin? Log only one of the coins (and un-log the other one from the previous cache?)? I suppose you can do whatever you like....
  18. 500, 000 ^2 = 2.5 x 10^11 I don't think it still holds (Even at ^1.5 it is still 1.25 x 10^11)
  19. 'depends where you hide it. I wouldn't hide an ammo can in central park! It's just a question of judgement. If the location of the cache would be a possible target for terrorists, or for any kind of bomb-attack, then just hide a Lock'n lock there!
  20. I'd suggest you to visit Geocaching-France at this link. There are lots more Geocachers there and you will surely find one that will accept. I would have answered yes, but Quebec is a little far from Paris
  21. I'll say... They all have fur (Altough for bees I would call it ''bee-hair'' )
  22. OS X is not a Linux distribution! It's mostly based on the NeXT OS ( NeXT was Steeve Jobs company when he was out of Apple) , an UNIX system. Also, most programs that can run under both OSX and Linux will also run under Windows. GPSBabel is an example.
