  1. Looks like an intresting tip.BUT not sure what your second paragraph procedure is . Can you expand please [i am a bit slow on the P.C side of things ! Thanks Andy Sorry I may have been describing a problem I had with Outlook. But: To re-enable an add-on in Internet Explorer 8 Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer. Click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons. Under Show, click All add-ons. Click the add-on you want to enable i.e. the Garmin one, and then click Enable. Hope it helps/works
  2. I had this exact problem with my laptop a couple of months ago. I had downloaded and installed the plug in BUT had selected NO at a crucial point when I was asked about allowing something. I have Win 7 and use IE and the problem was that the plug in was disabled. To enable it you have to start IE as admin (Shift and right click on IE in the start up list and select start as admin) Then go to Tools and Trust Centre. Select the plug ins and hopefully you should see the garmin one under the disabled list. Click on it and enable it. Then restart IE as normal and it 'should' work. All the best
  3. Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm set on a 62s now. A bit over what I was expecting to pay out but suspect it will give me plenty of years enjoyment. Will have to nip down to Pentagon now.
  4. Coming down in favour of the 62s at the moment. It's only a few £ more and with four Garmins in the house I have at least four months GS membership to play with. After that I will know if it's worth a few more months - probably over the sumer when I will be doing more caching etc.
  5. Thanks for all your comments. I hadn't thought about paperless so perhaps the 62s might be worth a look, although I tend to remember clues etc rather than printing them out - plus I'm not a premium member (yet) as I'm not an 'addict'. For me it's something to add to a walk I would be doing anyway - it's just annoying that so many are hidden under trees that my eTrex can't cope with.
  6. I'm looking to upgrade from my trusty eTrex which struggles under trees etc and this 60csx has caught my eye. Do any of you use one and if so are they as good as the sales pitch, or is there another model I should be looking at? Thanks
  7. Nice to see streetview has been added as well.
  8. Hint: 'In a Multi Branch Tree' Is this some form of in joke. If it didn't have multi branches it would just be a stump?
  9. How much extra clarity do you need? The OP is pretty clear. All you are asking about is specific about that particular area - In short, if you want it listing on this site it's down to the reviewer to make the call - and if they think it's required will ask for 'Proof of Permission' If this upsets you then you have three choices 1. Get the permission. 2. Don't set the cache. 3. List it on another site. This is nothing more than ensuring a bit of common courtesy has been excersised. As for Hooray for consultation, perhaps what you really mean is Hooray for common courtesy.
  10. Thanks for those. Looks like mine is just the second to have the word Remembrance in it. As it isn't located at a memorial perhaps that is more appropriate. If you are interested look out for 'Remebrance - Hill 60' on Thursday morning.
  11. Is there really only one of these in the UK? if so I'm about to publish the second this Thursday (the reviewer has kindly agreed to delay publishing until Armistice Day) Unless my search query was limited, so if you know of any more I would be interested.
  12. Thanks folks, I understand the process now. It will be easy enough to provide the necessary next time I'm out there.
  13. What is the accepted etiquette regards to logging Earthcaches that are local? I've found a couple near me that I have spent many hours crawling over, including one [Castles on the hill GC19X1X] where we have a scout shelter (not the nicest places to stay these days but it's dry!) My question is, is it expected that I visit places like this especially to log it, OR can I log it on the basis I know it extremely well, or in other cases drive through or past it on a regular basis? e.g. Winnats Pass - The Coral Reef GC1JPEQ Thanks for your thoughts.
  14. Yes the cafe is still there but the cache closest to it (Raging Rivers) appears to be gone! Plenty of caches within easy reach of Everton Rd to keep you occupied. If you find yourself in Town then Bochum Bell is a good one. Another close by is Central park but I haven't been able to find that after a week of searching? Good Luck
  15. Can you tell us which part of Sheffield you will be in.
  16. Solved my first Multi today, all on my own
  17. I haven't been doing this long, but it's the DNFs I put on the watchlist to see if anyone else finds it, or if others don't. One has confirmed it was missing the others have been found so I need to go back and try again?
  18. That explains it. I think I remember some of the pictures from the gallery so might just try and find it from memory next time I'm up there. Not sure how much caching I'll get done over the autumn and winter so will probably leave PM for now.
  19. Before the summer hols I remember seeing a cache on the summit of Win Hill. Particularly interested as I take a group of Scouts over there now and again and was fascinated by the fact I must have nerly sat on it during these walks. However, now I'm back from various travels I thought it would be nice to go and find it HOWEVER it no longer shows up on the local search (Google Maps) Is this perhaps because it has been converted to Premium Only as I though they showed up anyway and then told you that you need to subscribe when you click on it.
  20. I'm not quite sure what the problem is here? Surely a bad cache is one that is either too hard to find or one that is so badly hidden it gets found by the next passing dog! After that the more the better until we start getting several in the same spot but I think that is covered by current reviewers anyway. I have to admit that I was suprised that I didn't need to somehow prove my caching credentials before setting a cache but then again there is plenty of information on GC about how to do it so really there should be no problem with someone doing nothing else but setting caches and not finding any? I set my first cache this year after logging err - 1 cache, although I've been registered here since 2006?. The info on this site seemed clear and the reviewer was very helpful on a couple of other points. It's quite remote but it's been found a few times already so I suspect it is providing a decent walk and find - which I think is the point. Perhaps it might be useful/better for those setting caches to provide reviewers with photos of the cache, and its site as a confirmation that it is in a suitable location - after all a picture paints etc....
  21. You know how to confuse a man who'se down???
  22. I guess it's easy when you know how. I missed the significance of the '-' ??????? Oh well, have woken up now. Thanks for your help
  23. OK I might be a bit thick but I could do with a hand solving a clue to find the last three digits of a cache co ord. The advertised co ords take you to a stone with a number on it which is **** The clue for the final three digits of the N co ords are ABC, and the W co ords are DEF Where ABC are equal to 2412 - the number on the stone and DEF are equal to the number on the stone - 1098 I thought it was the digit number to start with but that doesn't work with four digits into three or with the numbers 9 and 8? Does anyone have any ideas what the clue can mean? Thanks
