  1. Errors I run across usually are from deleting media that was referenced else where in a zone, then when you try to publish it or save it, it corrupts the save, or sometimes it errors out on the save and messes up. You have to find the reference error before you can save it again correctly. The builder is missing error checking to prevent it from being deleted. If you exit the builder before finding the error you will loose your work because the save is corrupted. John
  2. I found a Wherigo cartridge that does waypoint averaging, yesterday. Kinda cool. The accuracy is in meters, but it will do the job. http://www.Wherigo.com/cartridge/details.a...6d-b16f48b79597 The cartridge is a play anywhere and is named Build your own GPSr. John
  3. The builder can create a gwz. 1. Select Publish cartridge from the Tools menu. 2. Select Yes to login. 3. Do not enter a username or password, and press OK. 4. It will say invalid username and invalid password and Press OK three more times. 5. Check your cartridge directory for a new gwz file created. John
  4. Using the gsak macro, it creates the file for the garmin poi loader to download to your gps. There is also custom icons for caches. Please check out this link for more information. http://www.malsingmaps.com/wiki/index.php/Custom_POI_Icon John
  5. I have had the connectors on the end of the cables go bad. They loose the spring bounce back or the connection get pushed in from over tightening.
  6. I upgraded to 2.54, I notice the following things using the unit yesterday. The unit will shut down if auto-routing is running if you remove the 12 volt plugin. I switch to off road and it would prompt me with the turn off or stay on option if unplugged. The Wherigo with the gps turned off, presented another testing option on locations. The left soft key says go. It would change your current position to that location. The go option only available with use with gps off on the satellite page. Deleting waypoints from map, crashes on mine too.
  7. Page 1 of the found caches only has 19 caches instead of 20 is indication that is there is a cache with 2 founds on it. Looks like it will not list a cache twice in the listings if there is two found entries on the same cache.
  8. Click on your profile, click on gallery, click on the picture you want deleted, click on edit image in the top center above picture. Then click on the trash can on the right side of the screen byself.

    PQ coords

On the 60, if you select a waypoint, then select map instead of Go To. Then on the map screen, if you press enter while cursor is on waypoint, it will move the waypoint. I always make sure I select Go To to find a waypoint, because it is real easy to move the waypoint using the map option. If you use a POI instead, those can't be edited.
  10. With the 400T, you can go up to 2000 caches. Get another SD Card and you have another 2000 caches that can be swapped out. Use a USB SD Thumb Reader to change cache data on the road.
  11. Sounds like the gps serial was toasted by the cable connection. I forgot to unplug the cable one day from the computer before removing the connector on the back of the gps, that's all it takes. If the connector swings while there is power in the usb cable, it will send power down a connection not meant for receiving power. The only option left as far as I know is to load waypoints or geocaches on the SD card itself. I have not found a way of using the SD card to upload firmware to the device.
  12. Cartridge is using the starting location specified in the cartridge Info page in the builder, I guess the only way around is to change the starting location to the location you want to test in the builder, then load it back to the Colorado. I don't know if the save file will work in the Colorado after you change the starting location in the builder and try to restart the cartridge. I tried to even run the cartridge as a PlayAnyWhere via editing the lua, but it uses the reference of Lat 0.0 and Long 0.0 in the Colorado with the gps off. Most of my Colorado errors is it don't like bitmap pictures, it shuts the unit off.
  13. Also a added note. Any starting location specified in the cartridge info page, it will use that coordinate info if the gps is in off mode.
  14. The Colorado behaves differently then the Builder emulator or the Pocket PC. Well, I found away of testing the cartridges from Home without going back to the area to retest. From the satellite page, select the options on the left button. Select <Use With GPS Off>. Select the options on the left button again. You will notice a 3rd option now on the options menu. Select Set Location On Map. Then move the cursor to the area on the map that you wish to test with your Wherigo cartridge, and push the middle button in the wheel when you find it. Now startup the Wherigo cartridge, the location that you selected, will be the location use in the cartridge. Pretty cool, this will save on the poor gas budget.
  15. where does the line between western Wa and inland fall. Or what region does Wenatchee and Leavenworth fall onto. I am just trying to get an idea where that line is. It looks like it follows the county lines and some of the Columbia River at certain points.

    WAP interface

Hi, Are there any updates to the WAP interface? I have a colorado and a pocket PC, and I like using the pocket pc to access wap due to bandwith. I think it would be cool if we could download individual gpx files from wap interface. You log in, select a cache page and and download a gpx file with the pda, transfer it to the SD card, then the SD card goes to the colorado, and away I go. Sometimes I have no access to a computer near by and I get notification message that a cache comes out over the cell phone. Getting a gpx file quickly would come in handy. Shutle64
  17. Firmware 2.51 has NMEA capabilities with the usb and the spanner program that creates a virtual com port on your desktop to talk to any programs. The map 60 can use the same usb cable and the spanner program too. Spanner is free download.
  18. OCB should be at the northend of the mall building behind Miner's Drive In.
  19. I won't guarantee it, but I'm not anticipating any problems. Road conditions at this moment, according to the WSDOT, are bare and wet; snowing, but no tire restrictions. You mentioned you're flying out of PDX. If you're concerned about weather, you might find it better to take I-84 east, then US-97 north into Yakima. I'd just check the pass reports the night before to be sure. Just to mention US-97 is closed at the bridge into Washington. They're still working on the bridge. Cross at The Dalles (free), or Hood River (toll), and follow 14 to US 97 on Washington side.
  20. My settings: Program port: COM9 Hardware port: COM8 Baud Rate 4800 Acesss: Check in the box to Manage GPS automatically. <--- this is for gps sharing, so you don't have hardware conflicts.
  21. I have a Axim x51v with a BT-20 gps. It sees the gps, but the screen cuts off the text in list screens. It looks like a formatting text problem.
  22. Make sure your baud rate and protocol match up on your GPS and your software.
  23. I have a Magellan GPS 2000, that the hidden menu comes up in by using menu, right, left, right and two zeros come up on the screen but the codes are different functions back then because the older unit didn't have the features that the new units have now. It mainly looks like a testing and upload menu for the gps.
  24. Here is the website. http://joe.mehaffey.com/magellan-codes.txt
