  1. I am not having email problems, just the notifications for newly published caches that I receive in text message form. I don’t remember exactly when they stopped coming through, but it was around early February. There are several other geocachers in Central Florida having the same problem. We all have AT&T as carrier. I do receive the texts when I am sent a GC Message, so that format is coming through my carrier just fine. I don’t know how widespread this is, but I believe its not a phone problem. i have created new notifications to test if there might have been a procedural or format change that effected the notifications that were in place at the time a change may have been made, but newly created ones do not work either. AT&T said they would need to know more about the sent message in order to track or trap or identify if it’s even getting there. The tech suggested the originating party should contact their carrier and initiate the analysis, so the routing can be determined and likely a resolution will be found. I fully agree with that suggestion, but I don’t know how to get this message into the hands of someone at headquarters that can actually put this process into action.
  2. I’m getting messages from the message center, but nothing from notification services . They are set up to come to my phone as a text. Carrier is AT&T. This happened a few years ago and HQ investigated the issue and got it corrected. My remote notifications are for “publish listing” types. Several of my caching friends are experiencing the same issue. They are also AT&T customers. We each have Florida phone numbers. Hoping this will help in the analysis
  3. Another glitch is when looking at a profile, and you sort the “found on” columb to the newest first, when you scroll down a few pages, the dates start to be out of sequence, then showing the last find date for that cache, not the find date for that geocacher.
  4. 2 more thoughts. 1. Showing the date I found a cache in a friends “found list” was very helpful in the past. 2. What is the “+” used for on the far right column? It doesn’t seem to offer or ask for any action on my part.
  5. Viewing on iPad Pro. I agree as several others do... default sort should be date found (newest first). It’s the most logical sort order, and the most likely reason we’re looking at someone’s profile. ALSO... if I’m viewing the profile of 4 of my friends in different windows, there is no name header to help with identification. It just shows their find count and the list of recent finds.? I have to hit the back button to see who I’m looking at.
  6. About 10 days ago, I reported not being able to send pictures through Message Center.. GC emailed back a few days later stating they had a technical issue, and it should be working now. I tested it and pictures were going through as expected. Yesterday and today, I am having the same issue. A text message will take about 5 to 7 minutes to get delivered, but pictures do not. I am able to receive a message and photo, from the person I am trying to send to.. ! I can send text & photos through Apple messaging and Facebook Messenger just fine... and no delays. Thanks, Carl (TheLF)
  7. Just this morning I received 2 new cache notifications for Florida, that has been active for 5 years. The last one I received was on May 14, 2020. Also received a notification today for a PA cache note, that I set up as a test when this failure started on May 14th. Those are the first notifications that have come through in over 2 months. Perhaps something has been changed or corrected today. I hope y’all’s notifications start working too. I’ve made no changes to cause this to start working...!
  8. This thread is going nowhere..! Does anyone have a solution...? ‘The “verify your email” message to xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net gets through to my phone (although the link doesn’t work) but the expected message for “instant notification” to the same number does not get here. What is different about GC.com’s messages that causes this...? I don’t see how this could be an AT&T issue.
  9. I changed the address from “mms” to xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net and clicked “save”. I received a message to visit this link to complete validation: https://www.geocaching.com/account/settings/emailpreferences/validateemailaddress?token=U0k2nHLC%2B7RbQjTG8OaESE1ikRbXvGu6WQvGuJyS4R4% I receive another message with the same link and loop continues. cant even verify a new “email” address. xxxxxxxx@earthlink.net. It says email sent but I don’t receive it.
  10. I’ll join in on the thread of not receiving Remote Notifications of newly published geocaches from Geocaching.com. The last one was on May 14th for GC8QJK5. Messages are received from other users as well as other web sites.
  11. Was out of town and saw the movies on Monday evening. Got back home Tuesday evening and looked at my notes for each entry. Made a decision as to who I wanted to vote for..... went to the link.... AND VOTING IS CLOSED. UGHHHH. It only been 27 hours since I saw them, but unfortunately it is after the deadline declared by Groundspeak. Why can’t the polls remain available for a few days after the last day to view the movies...?

    Friends list

Thank you..! It stays on the sort mode I have selected, using both my iPhone & iPad. Much appreciated.

    Friends list

What was that famous phrase? Set it and forget it....! That's what I'm looking for. I'm hoping it's just a bug in a recent software update.

    Friends list

My friends list on geocaching.com has recently changed to "sort by date friended" by default. Previously it was sorting by "date joined".... which I prefer. I have not been able to find a setting to change the default sort parameter. Any help out there????
