  1. Visit Colorado. You'll see lots of terrain over 3 stars I have been to Colorado.
  2. I don't know about Jersey, but i just got back from hiking in the Andes, and i'm really starting to wonder if there are any caches in the US that should be rated over a 3 terrain....
  3. Just keep passing that geocoin around...but no yuking on my floor!
  4. Pulling from the watchlist from the WV, VA area... Follow the rubicon trail series Rocky River, but thats in NC. User Chilewizzard puts out some interesting stuff. I also have a bunch of stuff from CrotalusRex & Wordfried, maybe you can check out their hides too.
  5. DO YOU REALLY EXPECT ME TO READ ALL THAT CRAP??? GO AWAY!!! GO AWAY NOW!!!
  6. I hope its a clear day for you, I know you'll have a great time! I've found Pulpit Rock, its a very cool spot! Have fun on the AT!
  7. Speaking of boots, anyone have any experience with waffle stompers by Dunham? I have Montrails right now, i was looking last month for new boots, haven't really decided on anything yet, there is a pair of Merrels that i have my eye on, but i do agree, each boot type fits each person differently. When i tried the Merrels on, the weird thing was, i tried on 2 pairs both the same size, and one pair fit, and the other pair didn't, yet it was the same shoe in the same size. I guess sometimes even trying on more than one pair of the boot you want can be useful as well. I have friends that like Columbias, however you couldn't give them to me for free, I feel they have a lack of ankle support, (IMO). I like my montrails, but i only cached in them for about 1.5-2 years, and they are needing to be replaced already, due to tears in the outer material and wear on the soles.
  8. I just had my first kayak experience this past weekend, it was awesome! I highly recommend anyone who is wanting to try it, to get out there and do it! We paddled all around the back bays of marylnd, and had a blast. You guys are sure to have lost of fun on your geo paddle excursion.
  9. Here is a list of caches near Hawk Mtn, or a short drive away. There are more than what is listed here, just use the "nearest caches" button on one of the cache pages to see more listings. I particularly like hiking in this area. I second Klatch, Waterboy puts out a great hike. Have Fun! Eagles Nest Nathaniel's First cache Wilkum to Rocksylvania Hunt for the News Hound Hooties Cubby Oh Danny Boy Pulpit Rock The Pinnacle Cold Run No Hints #2
  10. If this turns out anything like the bonfire, i'll be crawling through that hiker series.
  11. ACK! They "Y" word! We can not buy Yuengling here and CT. And for a Pennsytucky transplant and a Joisey boy; that's a major problem. I haven't even been able to find a recipe to brew my own. Perhaps this cacher could help you out with a recipe...
  12. Only two more years until the extra good fun starts... GO DESKJOCKY! Gimme a D-E-S-K-J-O-C-K-Y What's that spell? Yuengling! YEAH!!!!!!
  13. HAH! Forgive me for I have "sinned"... and get me a yuengling while you're at it, I heard DeskJocky's buyin.
  14. I'm *guessing* that this may be directed at me for logging "Third Wedsnesdays" on Monday...I don't see the issue in it.
  15. Last year we had about 30 people, four ponies, 10 half naked cheerleaders, and 2 surfer boys. So hopefully, this year it'll be 60 people 8 ponies 20 half naked cheerleaders and NO surfer boys Well....just for the record, these cheerleaders are NOT engineered to be a part of this event...however, they were there again this year...along with a couple ponies, two fire jumpers, a bucket of hermit crabs, three random dudes, a whole lot of shrimp, and field of grilled corn on the cob. Hope to see everyone again next year!
  16. This has already been done, and unfortunately it didn't go well. THe cache was archived. In order to see the listing, clickhere. I would have liked to hike for that cache.

  18. I am looking for new geoboots....please take a look at these boots: Big leather Boot Softer Boot At this time, I am having no preference for a specific brand, I chose Lowas to post, cause that's what google gave me. I'd like to hear from the geohikers, what is the main big difference between the STYLE of these two boots, in other words, one boot is a tough leather, the other a softer leather. Obviously breaking in the softer boot would be much easier, but what about: ankle support and life of the boot, weight of the boot, does one style get hotter than the other after hiking a long time, toe support on hills balance over rocky areas I've ruled out Columbias, and I'm looking to replace my montrails. I have my eye on a pair of Merrels. Feel free to list your favorite boot, and your least favorite boot and why you love them or hate them.
  19. Well these are in Virginia, not WV...but most appropriate for a jeep! Follow the Rubicon Trail There's 9 of them! Wave from the jeep club!
  20. I disagree. I'd rather enjoy the beauty of the view and nature at its finest then be hunting around for a scrap of paper shoved in an altoids tin. I read the log book of a cache that is now retired over the weekend. The hider placed in the cache a pocketknife, a rain poncho, batteries and an emergency blanket....a far cry from an altoids tin with a scrap of paper. What has happened to geocaching when people feel its a great thing to cut out the walk in the woods, the ammo can, and the nature of it all and replace it with highway guardrails, gas stations, and decorative shrubs. What is happening to this great sport/hobby?
  21. WHat kind of snake? That there is a DBS.
  22. Awwww, that snake was just taking advantage of the beautiful hiking weather, can ya blame him? HOWEVER I'll keep my distance!
