  1. Looking for the 2008 Caching Nevada Geocoin. I was the designer for this coin and would love to have one for my collection.
  2. Thank you Jim! They were fun to work on and all color credit goes to you.
  3. Great pics everyone! mdegarmo, I especially love yours.
  4. Does anyone know when the monthly winners will be posted? For "American Heritage" it said they would be chosen on 8-31-07 but I don't see anything in the Winners Gallery... If someone won, please post your pic! I'd love to see it and say congrats.
  5. If you click on the links each person provided in their post, it will take you to their page. You will see a "Nominate for Winner" highlighted in red under the picture. Simply click on that to vote. You only get one vote but you can change it later if you change your mind, which is nice. You can also see all the nominations here: http://jeep.geocaching.com/photos/ Lots of great pics!
  6. I went with a Western Heritage theme coupled with the idea of hunting down a cache/jeep travel bug instead of cattle. Please vote for me here: Vote! Thanks!
  7. From the Rules: ( http://jeep.geocaching.com/contest/rules.aspx ) The first rule does not specify household, the second does. Which is it? Can I and my husband both enter this contest? Or only one of us?
  8. I don't often cache in remote areas (sadly) so I don't have the need for protection against wild animals. I do sometimes fear the 2 legged variety and for that I take my dog. If I did go to a remote location, I wouldn't have the skills to feel comfortable with a gun. I go to the shooting range occasionally, but not often enough. I would feel safer if someone else in the group was experienced and carried a gun. Kit Fox - those were interesting links. Thanks for posting them.
  9. I usually leave a pathtag or a homemade wooden nickle. I like to create my own wooden nickles to suit my current mood so they change alot.
  10. I like your tag TheMystic! I've made 3 tags now (love them!) and I'm trying to decide what to do next. I have a few designs I'm fiddling with:
  11. I'm a little confused and not sure I entered the contest correctly. I uploaded a photo on the jeep travel bug page and registered with jeep.com. Is that all I need to do? The contest rules state that the pic can be as large as 4MB. Yet the upload page only allows for 125kb and 600px wide. ??
  12. Happy Easter Everyone!
  13. I log the actual find date because if they check the physical log book in the cache against the log online I want the two dates to match up. Otherwise they might look in the log for just that time period and think I didn't actually find it.
  14. Sure, I'd love to trade. I don't have my trade "sign" on right now because I don't have the actual coins in hand. I figured I would wait until I could post a picture of the actual coin. I'm a little unsure of the trading ettiquette. I'd like to see the Pathtags site get their own forum as well. I skin and install forums professionally and would be happy to set them up. I think it would be good for the business as well as fun for the members. I'm not real sure who to talk to though.
  15. I sent my design in yesterday. I think Pathtags is a fantastic idea and I'm really excited about having an affordable yet nice trade/sig item. Note: They are now offering 50 tags for $99.00
  16. If you're interested in learning html, another method is to search other sites until you find one you like. Do a "view source" and you will see the html code they used. Copy it, and use it as a base for your own site. You'll be surprised. A little edit here and there and pretty soon it will be your own unique page. Sometimes all you need is a little jump start.
  17. I like to find handmade signature items and wooden nickels. The wooden nickels don't have to be professional. The ones you buy at a craft store and fix up yourself are great. I don't like religious messages/pamphlets
  18. Nah. I don't offend easily. My apologies in return.
  19. I avoid those that are unsafe for a girl on her own. Lately I've been taking my German Shepherd with me but there are a few I visited early on that was plain stupid of me to go to. I'll avoid those types in the future even with the dog.
  20. If my geocaching experience led me to a card that called me a loser, then it would certainly take the joy out of the find. And worse yet, if it happens to be a newbie. What a way to be introduced to the game! It would make me think twice about joining such a group. You're not just giving a funny jab to your friends who understand the joke. You're calling every single person who visits that cache a loser. And no, I don't believe being even the 100th to find makes someone a loser. The point is finding the cache and enjoying the experience. Not playing keep up with the geo-joneses.
  21. I've been using the same rules that Briansnat listed. I'm going to be putting out my own cache soon and plan to leave a geocoin as a FTF gift. I know what thrill it was when I found a gift coin and I want to pass that experience on to someone else. Since there is confusion on this issue, I plan to leave a note that clearly lets the person know they are welcome to keep the coin. I'd hate for someone to move it along when it was meant for them to keep.
