OK, this may sound realy anal but now I have my mapsource maps looaded and they show up great, but I still have NO Base map. I feel like a moron cause I intentionaly turned off the mapsource maps to see if i could get the base map on. so realy the mapsource maps have been working all along~ any way, I still have no basemap, any one have any ideas? thanks, L.R. mucho glad the board is back up and running!

HELP!!!!! I LOVE my GPSIII Plus, but now for some reason my base map, and even my uploaded maps wont pull up on the display. I never knew how much I liked havin the roads on there till there not there! I have shut the unit down for an extended period, took out batteries, re-initialized, etc...... still no effect! does anyone know a "trick" to get my base map and uploaded maps to show up? EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS~ breadcrumb trail, MPH, Heading, waypoints, etc..... I MISS MY ROADS! all help much appreciated! thanks, L.R.

ha, that makes it all the funnier now! lol your right, or he is, whatever- III+ is what I have, and I downloaded the updated 5.0 MapSource software, now exactly what do I have to do to get the GPS to track while it is plugged into the computer? (in real time) L.R. Hey ya'll watch this!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Garmin IV+ and I want to know if it is possible to use the MapSource software on my laptop in the car/ truck and run off the "big screene" in real time- know what I am saying? I thought it was possible as that was partly why I bought the roads and rec CD, some one tell me what I am doing wrong! LoneRanger Hey ya'll watch this!!!!!!!!!!

Does the Mapsource Roads and Rec have small trails like jeep roads and stuff? or is it mainly paved streets? I want the small trails! also, the topo I thought I read somewhere that the topo has BOTH the roads and Rec and the topo in 1 CD is that true? thanks 4 the help! Hey ya'll watch this!!!!!!!!!!

I just got shipping from my PO to you and it was 23$ to ship 44pounds of weight. that's from McIntosh, Fl 32664 to Topeka Kansas that seemes to suit me just fine- sending you e-mail presently. I am very confused about what software I want! I have read the back threads in this forum, and have researched it, and STILL dont know what I am looking for (what CD to buy). this is what I want- I want to see small foot trails, and jeep trails. I want to be able to plug my gps into the laptop and watch my movements on the computer-(when driving) I want to be able to download thoes "small roads and trails" onto the GPS so when I go to hide a cache I know somewhat where I can and dont have to bushwack my own trail. I want it to have a few more roads than US highways and interstates. (county roads would be nice) Lakes would be nice as well as rivers and boat ramps. currently it shows mabey 1/24th of what is there-( I'm in Florida!) and finaly once the map is downloaded onto the GPS I want to be able to put waypoints on the GPS (like I allready do) and be able to upload them to the computer- I think this is all- if one CD wont do it all give me a list of what you (the users) think of each one.(I was leaning towards the Roads and Recreation CD but dont know for sure.) and where the best place would be to buy one (e-bay?) any versioins there are of the software, and what to look out for etc..... thanks, LoneRanger Hey ya'll watch this!!!!!!!!!!
