  1. Nice coin. I've got a few questions: What does the reverse side look like? How big are they diameter wise? Are they trackable? (I think they should be if they're here. ) If so, do they have a unique icon? Thanks.
  2. Certainly, as has already been mentioned, money is first. Without that, there is no coin. What would it take otherwise? Well, the stars would have to align for the most part . . . and it appears that they have, so I have a design and the art is at the mint. It will be my 2nd coin, the first in late 2006 -- 1.5", non-trackable and 150 of them. They were not sold, only traded or given away, or actually sent out traveling, using TB numbers. I think one of them may actually be still traveling. This 2nd one is something of a departure from the 1st -- I'm being a bit more deliberate this time, I think because of one really bad experience in the past, since the first. Finally, I had a concept, found an outstanding designer for some art, and went from there. So, I'm looking at a primarily round 1.85" trackable coin with an icon. For now there will be 200 of them of as-yet-to-be-determined metal(s), samples, etc, etc, etc. Again, they won't be sold, but primarily traded or given away. My feeling is trading is trading, whether by mail or in person, but face-to-face is always nice. A coiner and cacher extraordinaire local to my neck of the woods once told me to keep my coins close . . . I liked that, and still do, planning to proceed deliberately. Even with all that being said, I'm still on a wing and a prayer where the bucks are concerned. But I think all will align. However, the almighty dollar still rules!
  3. Actually, the part about holding clues to a puzzle cache is true. One version of Moun10bike's geocoins does hold the info for a puzzle cache out here in western Washington State. But I'm not sure if the cache is still active, nor do I remember which version it was for sure.
  4. I have no idea! One with purple highlighting, perhaps? :-)
  5. Lovely coin. It makes me think of knitting, where I first came across the fibonacci series.
  6. One of these cute li'l Jedi Mickey mystery coins showed up in a small packed of coins that I purchased some time ago, but only just made it to me a few days ago. It had passed through a variety of people, but nobody fessed up as to where it came from. Thanks!
  7. Number 12, please. Thanks for the fun!
  8. I would like to offer one of my caches for your consideration as a home for one of your coins: GC1HDTR -- Gee Whiz! Rated a D2/T4, it has had only 8 visitors since I placed it in 2008, despite its spectacular views. I offer it for categories 1, 3, 4, or 7. (Yes, it is an ammo box now. I'll change that when I'm back in good Internet range. Also, I'm not sure how to add a link from my phone. Sorry!) I love your unique idea. :-)
  9. Box number 13 arrived yesterday and, at first, I was at a loss as to why it was here. I hadn't been in the forums recently -- it's summer time, after all! Anyway, an amazing amount of stuff was revealed - games, food, caching stuff, coins, pathtags -- thanks so much, Fuzziebear3!
  10. I'll be happy to take two sets. Although we don't have any because of allergies, I love kitties and grew up with them.
  11. Now that I've recovered (sort of!) from the past week, I'm happy to report that my box did arrive on Monday (or Tuesday?). Many thanks to pyromomma for all the goodies! 12. Message sent. We'll see which side of the line I fall. Any side is fine.
  13. And out it went, just a bit after 1p, PST. Like has been said before, amazing amount of stuff that's just sitting around the house . . .
  14. All is packed into the box and it's addressed, but what do you know . . . I've mislaid my packing tape! Good thing I took a roll to work!!
  15. Kathy, Logbear & I are considering going, and you could have a ride with us if we do. Either way, we would be happy to loan you a pair of our snowshoes.
  16. For those of you that are into Washington State Forest Fire Lookouts, I found this: Lightning & Loneliness, sponsored by the Darrington Historical Society. It's on Sunday, 2/13 in Darrington. (I hear that there's a Lookout Cache very close by! ) Seems like a perfect Sunday -- this event in Darrington, and then on to Rey del Roble's Blown Away event. How much fun can a cacher have??
  17. I think I'm in. Looks like a fun and unique idea. :-)
  18. Thanks to those of you who have submitted designs. We've got some nice ones. I've had a few folks ask for an extension, so the deadline for design submissions has been extended just a few more days. The final date that designs can be submitted is now the end of the day (11:59p, PST) Friday, November 12, 2010.
  19. I exchanged my Colorado at REI (7+ months after it had been purchased) because I wanted the beefier O rings that the newer Colorados had. They took my well-used old one back, gave me a new one, and refunded (we didn't ask for it) $150+ because the newer one was that much cheaper now than when the 1st one had been purchased. I believe REI is the best place to purchase a GPS or similar equipment.
  20. As CG will be out of the GeoBoo vicinity on that date, I have taken control of her Golden Crow. Expect it to arrive at the 'Boo wearing a purple jacket that will hide the worst of its injuries. Its back looks like it was pecked by one of its own kind!
  21. It’s your big chance! Stake your claim to fame and fortune (of sorts) in the geocoin world! The WSGA (Washington State Geocaching Association) is looking for coin designs for its 2011 geocoin. Design a coin, one or both sides, that you think best represents Washington State. Please include all pertinent information about your coin: size, shape, metals, 2D or 3D, type of enamel, colors, special features, etc. Please include Pantone PMS numbers if you have them. To submit your designs, send them to fluteface@gmail.com with WSGA 2011 Geocoin in the subject line. Please include: Your caching name if you have one Your real name (first and last) Your email Other Useful Information: You do not need to be a resident of Washington State, nor do you need to be a member of WSGA, to submit your idea. Designs should be in jpg file format Images should be no larger than 500kb (that’s front image 500kb, back image 500kb) Designs must be submitted by the end of the day (11:59p, PST) Monday, Novermber 8, 2010 The coin is expected to be trackable. If your design does not include that, it will be added if your design is choosen. There is no limit to the number of designs you may submit. All submissions will become property of WSGA until such time as a final design (two sides) is selected. The final design will remain the property of WSGA. Winning designer(s) will receive a 2011 WSGA coin, bragging rights, and our eternal gratitude. J Questions? Ask away. I can’t wait to see your submissions! (Brief nod to MW . . . although you don't know it, thanks.)
  22. Urban Cache: Overdue . . . one of my favorites!
