  1. Is it just me?...or does anyone else want to SCREAM when trying to use the search option. I am looking for topics (feedback) on PDA's. I know there have been several threads throughout, with some being pretty recent. However, I am about to lose-it with this search engine! Thanks.

  3. I think I love my Magellan Sportrack Pro more and more everyday! It's not the biggest and baddest unit available, but so far, it has performed well for me under a variety of environments. Be sure to thorougly compare it to your first two choices.
  4. Different Strokes.. I on the other hand am almost opposite of FangFour with regards to Geocaching. I generally use the map screen to get me in the ballpark, then switch to the Large Data (customized w/ bearing, heading, dist, speed). The only other screen(s) that I have not disabled are Small Data (customized w/ bearing, heading, and trip), and the Sat screen. I keep only 3 screens, not counting satellite status. I do agree with Fang that there is a lot of redundancy using all the screens.
  5. WOW!! After only a couple of months and twenty something finds--you score a cool coin. You can read in here all day long about cachers with hundreds of finds and two years exp without that kind of luck
  6. Hey Mike as I have a Magellan, I wrote down only a few things I thought my friends with Garmin's would be interested in. I did see Garmin Mapsource Roads and Rec, I believe for $99.99.
  7. Bloens Wrote: quote:Did they stock the combination data/12v power cable? Didn't see the combo cables, but saw them individually (computer AND 12v). Among other things like carrying case, windshield mounts. I saw the Rino 110/120, Legend and Basic Etrex. And some already out-of-stock items where the SKU was too small to read. Harrald was right, this being COLORADO, where there is a sporting store on every corner, they might have a bigger selection than some states.
  8. I was surprised to see several models of Garmin GPS in the camping section in my local Target store. Even more surprising was how much GPS accessories and paraphernalia there was in stock too! (Garmin Only). I have a Magellan.
  9. There is a cache owner out here that has at least two (that I know of) fake birdhouses which are "sign only" caches. Not so difficult this time of year, but I imagine with some leaves on the trees, these will be a little more exciting. According to his logs, he plans to build more and make them increasingly difficult.

  11. Colo.TJ wrote: quote: Are the cashes usually burried or not? I would assume not because of the accuracy of GPS. The accuracy of the GPS is not in question here, as the cache coodinates would be a surface reading buried or not (relatively speaking). However, caches should never, ever be buried in the ground. Well hidden under the cover of leaves, logs, rocks, etc., is fine-even encouraged. Welcome and have fun.
  12. Keith wrote: quote: Ok..Im gonna cut off the gift giving now.....but feel free to post well wishes on this thread!!! We have just over $200 plus a few more expected by snail mail. Will keep you informed on which unit we buy and when we give it. Thanks again! Keith Maybe someone could have a digital camera standing by for prosperity?

  16. Cigarettes In Cache? Great pictures. I am not trying to be the "cache police" or anything, but I would not appreciate finding a pack of Basic Menthol Lights in any cache, whether caching with my children or not. Your Picture Labeled "Booty!"

When this story is available on the web site, your initial post will be 4 days buried in these boards. You should have waited closer to the 25th. I'll try to remember to check it out.
  19. Do You Mean Green? I see the "Green" going for $99.99, and the "Yellow" listed for $119.99 at Outpost. I have the Pro myself and love it, I am however, looking for something for my dad. (So when we go out caching, I get to actually hold a GPS )
  20. Our six dollars is waiting to be claimed.

  22. Lysa said: quote: but I am getting married this weekend... and then we have all that lovely INS stuff to go through to get myself and my son legally able to work and live here permanently, I am assuming that it will take until the summer.. Congrats on your wedding. As you are quoted above...When you research it further, you will find geocaches hidden in many, many other countries too! How cool would it be to explain, or better yet, show your new found sport/hobby to relatives not living near you? Or at the very least, just think what a fantastic Travel Bug courier you would make.
