Maybe changing the category name to "Latin America and Caribbean Benchmarks" would be more clear on what countries/regions where included. The official name of the country is Saint Kitts and Nevis. However there is a bug on Waymarking.com (and also on geocaching.com): this country appears twice on the country list, one as "Saint Kitts and Nevis" and the other as "St Kitts"; in my opinion the first one is the one to use.

In theory the forum discussion is a great way to get feedback and improve a category description. In reality, peer review has proven to be much more effective. In 1 day of peer review the number of participants vs the number of participants in the forum speaks for itself. I'm sorry, but this is true. The argument about this category being redundant to the category "wikipedia entries" is just silly. Wikipedia entries is redundant to pretty much everything, including the Wikipedia site itself!! I've just noticed that when i send an email trough Waymarking.com, in the copy of the email appears: "tmob says, ...... Respond to this message [This is a copy of the email sent to tmob] Happy Waymarking! The Groundspeak Team" Well, since i haven't sent an email to myself, this is probably a bug .

The "not global" comment on peer review is always present, no matter what category it is ; Of course it's global.

In that case there would be no point of having a peer review. I bet that the existing categories, with limited availability, would have serious difficulties on getting through peer review if it happen today. Things change, and Waymarking has changed. For example, many of the last commercial categories (especially chains) were rejected in the peer review.

I've seen many preserved machines on public display; this should be an interesting category.

It's a good point. Is the purpose of this category to waymark only historic dovecotes or also the modern ones? A few examples of modern ones (not so interesting in my opinion):

I don't see the point of Waymarking something that can only be seen once a year. Not to say that not every marathon starts and ends in the same spot every year. I feel the same about the existing categories that are similar.

Bem vindo João, ainda bem que tens ideias de sítios que queres partilhar. Se me permites o conselho, procura mais umas caches, e pesquisa um pouco sobre o que existe. No fundo irás ganhar alguma rodagem e de certeza que vais ver que já existem caches em sítios de dificuldade equivalente ao que falas, há espaço para tudo. Como owner, penso que o melhor será alertar para as potenciais dificuldades na página.

Pois é tiveram mesmo muita sorte... Se tivesse havido um acidente ou roubo do carro tinham-se vistos 'gregos' (embora neste caso a expressão não seja muito feliz ). Eu cá gostava de ver se conseguia resolver isso... Já estou a ver alguma luz ao fundo do túnel, mesmo que vá ter de pagar mais. Assim para já conclui que o inteligente mesmo era ter voado para a Croácia em vez de para Milão. A partir da Croácia os carros já podem viajar para os países vizinhos todos. Também a política de preços das companhias é espantosa. Assim temos: 10 dias a partir de Milão pela Europcar (o que tinha contratado) : €286,61 10 dias a partir de Milão pela Sixt (que permite viajar para os países de Leste [a confirmar]) : €438,37 10 dias a partir da Croácia pela Sixt (via Rijeka Airport mas deve ser igual nos outros sítios) : €241,70 10 dias a partir da Croácia pela Europcar : €440,99 Ou seja a política de preços está invertida entre estas duas companhias... Agora é só ver se arrisco ou gasto mais €150. Se a conformação da Sixt em Milão não se confirmasse havia sempre a hipótese de ir de Europcar até Rijeka, deixar lá o carro, alugar um da Sixt por 6 dias por €170, fazer o resto da volta por Croácia, Montenegro, Bósnia, Zagreb e em vez de ir daí para Libjuana, voltar a Rijeka, trocar de carro e ir daí para a Eslovénia (são só mais cerca de 100km). Ou seja não será por esta questão do carro que não mantenho o plano de viagem Porque não alugas na Croácia e vais de comboio até lá? Pode ser uma hipótese a pensar. Btw, já disse que estou cheio de inveja dessa viagem?

Mas estou de acordo que é quase impossível que ele tendo no terrritório próximo só quase novas caches, consiga manter o 1ºlugar de caches descobertas em 2010. Estou de acordo que a vantagem estará no lado dos geocachers mais recentes com milhentas caches por descobrir num raio próximo (a menos que esteja em condições de se tornar geocacher profissional, o que seria muito interessante ) De qualquer forma em valor absoluto, aí tem todas as condições em continuar em primeiro. Este tema das estatisticas é muito interessante... Se toda a gente colocar uma cache na sua rua ele consegue

Não sei bem onde é a "tua rua", potencialmente poderá ser num local agradável, mas vou supor que é apenas mais um bairro nos subúrbios de Lisboa. Poderão haver mil e um factores que me levem a gostar da cache, mas quase de certeza que não irá a acontecer. Será mais uma, será mais um exemplo da banalidade e da descida frenética do interesse das caches. Dificilmente irás receber logs sinceros de alguém que tenha gostado da cache, logs minimalistas e sem sal serão o prato do dia, mas uma coisa é certa, todos ficarão agradados por somar mais uma. Ficou aqui mais uma opinião, mas a decisão será sempre tua, desde que cumpra as guidelines será publicada, e visitada. Já agora, um último conselho, para "minimizar o estrago" , tenta que o esconderijo seja inequívoco e limpo.

Bem bem eu não diria, mais ou menos vá. Registar as caches online faz também parte do jogo, e tem diversos objectivos, não apenas 'facturar' como tu lhe chamaste. Registar caches online serve para o owner ter feedback sobre a sua cache, o log online é o local onde o owner fica a saber como foi a experiência de quem procurou e se este gostou da sua cache. Penso que em breve irás perceber o prazer que é ver que houve alguém que visitou a tua cache e que até lhe achou piada. Se não fizerem o registo online comprometem esta parte. Para além disto serve também para o owner saber se algo não está bem com a sua cache, e eventualmente pensar em lhe fazer manutenção. Vá regista lá as caches online vais ver que não doi nada. Se não servir para mais nada, serve para o vsergios não te confundir com um newbie apressado.
