  1. I have to agree with all those who have gone before saying 'what's the point?'. Returning to the original question - using Travel Bugs seems like a crazy idea to me. Travel Bugs last for years and years and therefore have the potential to become out-of-date or tasteless rather quickly. Imagine if she is not found alive (we are all imagining that after all) - loads of travel bugs reminding the cachers around the world acheives nothing.
  2. LOL same here! to the Pirates of the Cache-ibbean for reaching the first 100 PS congrats to you too Deepdigginmole!!! And me - 100 too!
  3. I am almost hoping that mine breaks now ... would love a shiny new one.
  4. All paid. <<waiting, with eager anticipation>>
  5. I have the same GPSr and it has also been known to get water (e.g. a canal on Sunday) incorrect. That is with the OS topographical map loaded. It can be very distracting - my brain is keener to believe the little picture on the screen rather than the highly accurate mathematics involved in telling me that I am only 6 feet away from the cache .
  6. Same here. I am the only one who has become addicted. Mr Midnight Rambler has never even visited the website and can often be seen scrambling through hedges - not to find caches - to retrieve the GPSr he has thrown there in a tantrum. I encourage him to use it, he needs all the practice. And it means one less thing for me to carry . I have got braver recently and done caches on my own. I love it so much that I cannot let my fear of "what might happen" stop me doing it.
  7. Fantastic - what a helpful bunch you are - many thanks.
  8. I'm after advice please as I must be doing something wrong. I want to find all caches with the word 'cow' in the name. If I do a keyword search for 'cow' it brings back two results, both in the US called 'Cow'. It does not return 'Cow Tale' in the UK. A search on 'cow tale' brings back the UK cache mentioned successfully. Am I doing something stupid?
  9. Nearly all of my geocoins have come from sellers on EBay. There are usually a few UK sellers on there.
  10. I am still having trouble logging in - do I need to relaod my data? Yeah, it might be worth a try. The site has been updated recently and it may not have your password. Just re-upload your zipped GPX file with a new password and see how it goes. If the site hasn't been fixed then it may just be that my data has finally been processed, in which case you may need to wait a few days or so. Yippee! I'm in.
  11. I am still having trouble logging in - do I need to relaod my data?
  12. I agree! I've noticed that too. My excuse is that I've got PMT, what's everyone else's? Yeah but my PMT is worse than yours so just leave me alone!
  13. What is the matter with everybody today? I have had a couple of days away from this forum and was looking forward to lightening up my lunch hour in the usual manner - a visit here. All the threads I have looked at so far are full of people having a go at each other. Relax everybody - this is supposed to be fun! Regarding filters - as a newbie I have the luxury of just grabbing anything and eveything wherever I plan to go. The only selection on my most recent query is to select active caches only as I don't want to trudge around Richmond Park on Sunday looking for something that isn't there.
  14. I find it very interesting that only three of your twenty eight placed caches and seven out of your last hundred finds qualify under these criteria.
  15. Me too! How frustrating. Does anybody know how to fix this please?
  16. Actually, I have thought a little - You spend your lunch hour on this forum because you have done all the caches in the area and this is the closest you can get to a caching-fix...
  17. I still get excited to find a travel bug or geocoin in a cache. The other stuff I can do without to be honest - the 20p off next purchase of shampoo vouchers for example. Most of my pleasure (having found the cache) comes from reading the last few logs as often people write quite entertaining little stories. I apply quite a basic rule - I never leave anything that I wouldn't be happy to find myself. Having spent a fortune on geocoins it tends to be them these days. I have often contemplated removing what I consider to be geocrap but I always stop myself - one person's geocrap might be geotreasure to somebody else. As for the rules - who cares as long as nobody is getting hurt and you are enjoying yourself?
  18. Yeah - it's a shame because they look really nice. The website has been displaying that message since last week - don't they know how serious this?
  19. Just noticed that Tesco are selling the CSx online for £450! They are calling it a pedometer . The one good thing - you can use your clubcard points to buy it....
  20. Does anybody know where I can get a 100th find geocoin from please? I need one soon as I can't bear the thought of having to stay in and not go caching until it arrives.
  21. I tried looking for this one over Christmas until a lady stopped me and told me all I would find was spiders! However, I will be back ...
