Technical nerdy question!
Midnight Ramblers replied to martlakes's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Remember that only right-angle triangles have a hypotenuse .... You had me confused for a while ... especially as I will always avoid a hill that steep -
OMG - please don't encourage me I have been resisting this so well and you go and tell me how to do it! BTW - if I ever annoy anybody by constantly finding their caches first (not much chance with my local fellow cachers) please just let me know rather than start something like this up. I am sure it can all get so exciting that all rational thoughts leave your mind.

Yes! That makes up for him beating me to that FTF on Saturday morning. I am over the moon - thanks.

Memory Maps and Northern Ireland
Midnight Ramblers replied to thedogsbollox's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I downloaded the free maps which are discussed on the geocaching Ireland webpage. I was really impressed - most major roads and contour lines. I did not need anything else. Sorry I cannot remember the exact details. -
Hey, don't forget to hide a couple of holiday caches whilst you are there ...

When I first read this thread months ago I applied for one of the free routers. I am ashamed to say that I have not installed it and don't really have any plans to do so now. Therefore, if anybody wants it send me an email and I will send it to you.

I always buy mine from mymemory.co.uk and rely on their compatibility chart. I have bought the Sandisk Ultra II which works fine despite what I have seen people saying in this forum on previous occassions.

Printing print friendly cache pages
Midnight Ramblers replied to L8HNB's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I agree with you completely. It took me three attampts to print a rather lengthy cache description recently. In the end I copied and pasted into Word and removed all the bits I did not want. -
Wrigley's Extra Ice container
Midnight Ramblers replied to Matrix's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I saw a lady eating one of these on the bus this morning. I'll ask her next time ... -

How do you edit a trackable item?
Midnight Ramblers replied to Midnight Ramblers's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
Great, I am happy if we are all going mad together! Thanks Stuey Edit: typo -
Despite the fact that I have done this many times I cannot see how to edit the description etc for a trackable item any more. Please help me ...

Bloody Hell! This is supposed to be fun! Why is everybody so concerned with what other people do? People should be left to play the game how they want to. You guys are in danger of ruining it all with your 'unwritten rules' etc. You use this kind of post to point out how you are perfect, listing the proper way to do things. It's boring. Chill out!

Geocaching Walking Stick
Midnight Ramblers replied to Haggis Hunter's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
I bought a stick just like the one in the picture at Symonds Yat. I think you can get them at most Forestry Commission type places. I also got the stick badge (from UK Geocachers. Although I left the badge in a cache because I changed to walking poles. The stick used to give me wrist ache. I still have it if you want it .... -

A plea to cease pointless threads
Midnight Ramblers replied to Mr'D's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
It's far easier to ignore pointless threads (or ones I am not interested in) than to ignore pointless conversations (or ones I am not interested in) in real life. I am just suggesting to my manager that we have an 'off-topic'/'pointless conversation' room set up at work. I'll move his desk in tomorrow -
What are the tell tale signs of a cacher?
Midnight Ramblers replied to cakemaker's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
What a great thread! And full of such wonderful ideas - I have never been convinced that people believed me when I stood talking into my yellow Garmin as if it was a phone. Squirrel eggs and invisible dogs - I like - keep them coming ....
