  1. Happy Christmas Eve, everyone! Writing utensils for geocaching and small geocaches - AWESOME.
  2. I have two racers: drneal's and rockotter's. I will place them AFTER Christmas day, and hopefully more Texas geocachers will help them out with some serious miles, as we are staying home for the holidays this year. I DID post pictures of their racers. I always like seeing my trackables and am so appreciative of geocachers who include pictures with trackables or geocaches.
  3. If there were a "Like" button, I would click it.
  4. Sorry for the delay! I had a fantastic mission last week and thought I had updated...must have confused this mission with my Advent pics. Boo on me. Email Sent: Yes, 28 October 2010 Name Received: Yes, 7 November 2010 Mission Sent: Yes, 15 November 2010 Mission Received: Yes, and it was lovely! One can never have too many geocoins that feature fossils, and now I have TWO of these: one to keep and one to send out!
  5. Happy December 21st! The husband swooped in on these very quickly, but he let me have a few. These might have to be our new favorite geocaching munchie.
  6. Happy 18th! Happy 19th! Happy December 20th! A fun TEXAS geocoin I haven't seen before - very cool.
  7. Two days to catch up! Happy December 16th! (this one is in my belly already) Happy December 17th! (and the husband has already swiped this one... it should keep him busy during the holiday travel rush!)
  8. Happy December 12th! (I'm behind...) Happy December 13th! (nearly there...) Happy December 14th! (Caught up! WHEW!)
  9. I used www.geocoincollection.com to find the names and finishes of most of the coins I'm offering. I used it a lot when I first became interested in geocoins. This site should be your friend...
  10. Happy December 11th! Something handy to for peering first into those dark crevices...
  11. Day 2, different vote! This is my KONA, one half of my geocaching nick. This year he qualifies as a "senior" dog, but he's still an awesome dog. Adopted from a shelter when we first moved to Texas. Best $25 ever.
  12. I really like the Davy Jones' Locker geocoins. They speak to me. They say, "Acquire me by any means possible." So, I would like to try to TRADE for them first, and am interested in getting as many finishes as possible. They ALL speak to me. I know some are available for purchase, but since I should be thinking of others at this time of year, I am trying to justify my "personal want" by trading instead. Any takers? I have a trading list attached to an activated geocoin, and would prefer LIKE trades, meaning oakcoins for oakcoins. All offers will be entertained AND responded to. Thanks in advance for considering!
  13. Just a bit of information for any "newbie" coiners who are interested in expanding their collection but a bit daunted by the math trade: It is not rocket science! Directions and guidance are available at every step of the process, and you are probably not the only one with a question. I participated in the math trade for my first time last year, and I really enjoyed the entire thing. I knew that I was guaranteed to receive a coin that I was interested in, and that I did not have to trade a coin if I didn't see anything that I felt was "worthy" of my coin. It's also a great way to see what other coins are out there: older coins, coins that sold out before you had a chance to purchase them, special versions, sets, etc. I hope everyone will give the math trade a chance, if they haven't already. Good luck, and thanks E&Cplus3 for organizing again this year!
  14. Thanks so much for the update, Queenie-Boo-Bay! Enjoy your holiday and holiday travels, and though this might be a little premature, "welcome back" to geocaching!
  15. Happy December 8! The note with this gift read, "I know this may seem like a strange gift, but I love mine!" When I do take my geocaching vehicle to the car wash (every other year), I ask for cinnamon scents to be left in the car.
  16. TB41833 has now been activated (it arrived on Saturday) and is ready to start it's voyage as soon as NCFabFive has adopted it. It's a Scavok Night and Day geocoin, and I'm trying to work out the best ways to keep it and it's instructions together while travelling. I was thinking of laminating the instructions, and attaching them with the strongest tape that I can find to the flip that the coin is in. Anyone got any better suggestions? Z. Yay, Zwack & I.E. for paying it forward! Hopefully this gesture will mean "good coin karma both for the coin you've adopted AND the coin you're adopting out! For the coins I've adopted out, I placed written instructions in the flip on the site opposite the coin. Yes, these can be removed, but if someone wants a coin there's little one can do about thief-proofing the mission/instructions for a trackable. I could have drilled the coins, but I didn't think the people who had adopted the coins would appreciate a damaged coin, if they are so lucky as to get theirs. I don't have a picture of what the travelling coins looked like with their written instructions, but I included: 1) The city/state/province that the coin wanted to go to 2) The tracking number (TBxxxxx) 3) The tracking code (unique on each coin) 4) A statement that the coin was owned and NOT to be kept as SWAG 5) A statement that the coin should be logged onto geocaching.com All of the above should be reiterated on the coin's page, although geocaching.com does a lot for you already (tracking number is specified on every trackable's page). You've already taken a picture of the coin, which is great for the new coin owner, as they may never see the coin "in person." Yes, "trackable at geocaching.com" is on every coin, but I figured a little reinforcement can't hurt. When it comes to reading, there are three kinds of cachers: Those who don't read anything (a clear majority, mainly because they are new and don't fully understand yet) Those who read but ignore/don't care/unable to help with mission/or can't follow instructions Those who read and do their best to follow through (precious few geocachers) Good luck to the travels of this coin (a Night and Day coin - lovely!), and again, congratulations on paying it forward!
