  1. test We are in it 'for the hunt'. We are much more interested in finding the cache container than its contents.
  2. Hi; Sorry 'Lost In Time' but I sold it. I did not post it as sold because no one seem interested in it.I have seen them on E-bay for similar price. Yes Desert Warrior Zeus is a 6 1/2 year old 155Lb Harliquin. Here is a link to photos. Zeus You can move up the dir to see our other animals if interested. regards Seatrout
  3. Hi; I understand the difference between true and magnetic north.I have searched the forums somewhat. My question is,does the yellow etrex 'look up' the declination based on lat/long and a snaphot of data or is it up to me to change the default setting ? If it has tables how do they get updated. In my area the declination is not much but I did not think about the mag bearing error from my Etrex before. Seatrout
  4. Hi Techno Team; What make and model GPSR are you using? My Eagle explorer's display resolution only went to 1/100 of a mile(50 feet). Ok for most uses but not geocaching. I bought a yellow etrex for the game. The etrex will read out in feet, the distance to the waypoint. Here is a link to tell you the feet per 0.001 in Lat/Long. Feet per 0.001 Lat/Long regards Seatrout [This message was edited by SeaTrout on December 23, 2002 at 04:40 AM. [This message was edited by SeaTrout on December 23, 2002 at 04:47 AM. 8. Hi; Thanks sbell111 and Freelens for the replies.Freelens we just submitted a regular cache and intended to place half a dozen more including several microcaches in the near future. The biggest hold up is trying to find contents for the regular caches (dollar store ?)
  9. Hi Guys; Boy am I embarrased ! I was so pre-occupied with my cache hide that I did not completely read what was right in front of me.Thank you all for the help. All is well now. regards Seatrout
  10. Hi; Would you go hunt a cache near your house if it were in a small park/exercise area that had a 'log book' only ? some areas are very accessable but small (1/4 acre). With kids playing and people mowing the lawn anything larger will be discovered.I have heard of micro caches but do not know what people put in them.I think the thrill is in the hunt and a logbook verifies that you found it. regards seatrout [This message was edited by SeaTrout on November 27, 2002 at 09:21 AM.] [This message was edited by SeaTrout on November 27, 2002 at 09:22 AM.]
  11. Hi; I am a newbie. I submitted my first cache hide. I understand that it can take a day or two to be approved. My question is.. When I filled out and submitted the form I expected some type of confirmation (either immediately or through a e-mail bot) that you recieved my request.Did I miss it. I hope that you do not think that I am *****'n. I understand that this is a free service and I appereciate it very much. regards SeaTrout
  12. Hi; I am new and have just hidden my first cache, but I have not logged it in yet. 1.Because I see people complaning about others having lat/long off 20 feet or so,Is there any way to edit the original position after the initial logging of the cache (i.e. veteran cachers finding it and giving me better numbers for it) ? 2.A cache location question. Can the cache description (container and extra details) be edited after the initial logging of the cache ?
  13. Hi; Thanks for the help. The Datum was set for something else. Regards Seatrout
  14. Hi; I am new at owning a gps (eagle explorer). Several days ago I stored my house as a waypoint. I was able to follow the waypoint home from work the next day (10 miles).Today I went looking for my first 3 caches in areas familiar to me.I could not find them (I am sure I was close though). When I returned home I looked and double checked my home waypoint (was also written down). My home waypoint is 0.5 miles off.I believe that is why I could not find the caches.Any advice is helpful Thanks SeaTrout East central Fla
